@professorastrocat - I said I'd set up a graduates group I'm tentatively on here though coz if the test at 11 is bad news I'll be back on a bus! Everything so far seems ok as the test this morning says 3 + weeks got the midwife appt tomorrow xx

@Wise0wl what is WFH?

I'm a teacher in a classroom with over 30 humans a day. I'm guessing this is social contact?

Wise0wl · 17/03/2020 07:33

@Hhdxx WFH = working from home.

The gov have said that they will shut schools when the time is right, I can’t imagine it’ll be that much longer until they do.

I also think that the press conference yesterday was really unclear so I imagine some clarity will be shed on who should stay home and when!! It seems like all pregnant people at the mo, but agree with others that there doesn’t appear to be any scientific reasons as to why - it feels like a precaution.... we will see!

Talcott2007 · 17/03/2020 07:42

I will be going into work today (different office than normal) which is fortunately where my Manager is also working out of today. So I will be telling her that I am pregnant as based on the new advice saying we are now high risk even though I'm only 7w. It's feasible for me to WFH for most aspects of my role but some aspects eg. Auditing won't be so straightforward! So I will need to think it through a bit.

Lola871 · 17/03/2020 08:07

I told my manager yesterday even though I'm only 5 weeks so we've got a few days to work out how I can contribute from home. Luckily in some ways work has gone very quiet because of it all so it should work out. I'm hoping as they get more data they will change the guidance for us too and it won't end up being a full 12 weeks of social distancing!

Talcott2007 · 17/03/2020 11:36

Right so that's my manager told. I've been to that I am to WFH after today going forward for the next 12 weeks as current guidelines recommend.

God this all feels so surreal.

Bumblebee413 · 17/03/2020 12:06

I work in a hospital and I'm only 4+6. I don't think going off sick is an option. If I do that too, then both my team and patients will suffer. It isn't that I'm particularly fabulous, it's that I'm full time and we will already be stretched so thin.

professorastrocat · 17/03/2020 12:36

It is so surreal isn't it. I will have to tell work today and they'll have no option really but to allow me to work from home. Not sure whether to keep my 4 year old from school now seeing as him being there potentially means every day he can get the virus and then we'll all have it. What are others with kids doing?

Wise0wl · 17/03/2020 14:17

It's so weird. I don't want to tell work until I have a bit more reassurance that things are progressing well (other than the tests I'm taking every other day Shock but I've not heard from my self-referral yet so feel a bit in limbo!

Talcott2007 · 17/03/2020 14:22

Going to have another chat with DH about it tonight - DD is in nursery which is currently still open. On the one hand as I will be at home now anyway I should keep her home BUT i will get zero work done. it's like she can smell it when my work laptop is on and becomes all needy and clingy - seriously last night I logged in (just to check my remote access was working correctly) and she instantly comes over and the conversation goes as follows:

DD: I need you
Me: Oh Ok, what do you need? - the tv is on the program you asked for (number blocks) and you have a snack (banana) in your hand already
DD: I just need you, I need to sit on your lap wobbles lip impressively
Me: I will come and sit back with you in 5 mins, you can still see me, I'm in the same room.
DD: What are you doing? whilst forcing herself onto my lap and wildly tapping and flailing at keyboard
Me: I'm just making sure my laptop is working - How about you sit on the chair next to me.
DD: No. it needs to be on your lap. smears residue of now squashed banana across screen
Me: Gives up

professorastrocat · 17/03/2020 17:45

Yes this is my concern @Talcott2007 ! My son is in reception but when at home just cannot entertain himself for long. But I wondered if it may be necessary now to restrict who anyone else in the household is in contact with? I don't know what to do and me and oh just argued about it which doesn't help my hormonal state!

Hhdxx · 18/03/2020 10:31

How's everyone feeling? I've got nausea today again. Is it normal that my boobs start to hurt less and the more and then less then more??

Talcott2007 · 18/03/2020 10:50

Well DD and I are in day 1 of our self imposed isolation/social distancing. DH and I agreed that it was probably for the best to keep DD of nursery to limit our potential exposure via her. Although DH is still going into the office at the moment though as his company currently does not have capacity to have everyone connecting at home yet. WFH is going about as well as I expected with her!

sparkler07 · 18/03/2020 12:39

@Hhdxx. Hi havent been on for a bit. Feeling horrible the sickness/nausea has kicked in . Hope you are doing ok. Xx

sparkler07 · 18/03/2020 12:40

Hope everyone is doing ok as can be in the circumstances. My main worry is food atm. Supermarkets were I am are bare despite being no confirmed cases. Xx

professorastrocat · 18/03/2020 13:59

This is my worry too @sparkler07 😢 aswell as not seeing family but just need to get over that!

BooMamaBear · 18/03/2020 16:14

10 weeks tomorrow and finally my sickness seems to be settling grown o felt ok yesterday just felt a bit sick but much later in the day and today I'm normally feeling sick from 3pm if not a bit earlier but I feel ok so far!! I've kept DD off ore-school social distancing but I'm same my DH has still gone into work he can work from home but no one at his work is yet so I think he's gonna wait til he needs to or other senior managers work from home too! Xx

Yay good news @BooMamaBear ! Gives me hope! 9+1 today

Wise0wl · 18/03/2020 20:12

Hello all! I’ve finally got notification that my booking in appointment is in 4 weeks (when I’ll be 9+5. It feels so long away.

Have any of you here had early scans? What are your thoughts about them? I just won’t feel confident that everything is ok until I get some kind of confirmation and feel a bit anxious given everything else going on.

Anon87 · 18/03/2020 22:16

I work in retail, I'm the assistant manager and am always on that shop floor with orders or decisions. Yesterday HR (whos based in my store) kicks me to the back and puts me on web listings for the next 12 weeks 😆

No direct contact with customers and no staff are allowed to touch me 😂 Made me giggle but they're really trying to do their bit.

Lola871 · 19/03/2020 08:38

Hi all, I'm still planning to go into work as normal next week, I am a healthcare professional but only have one and a half days patient facing next week, even then only outpatients and with lots of cancellations at the moment so fairly unlikely to come directly into contact with covid-19. I have a weeks annual leave booked the week after and will then decide what I'm going to do from there. My manager has told me I can stay at home if I feel it's necessary but I'm just looking at the advice day by day and making decisions as I go.

I have had to tell my parents and sister much earlier than I was planning which is a shame, was quite enjoying having a little secret between me and OH!

BooMamaBear · 19/03/2020 12:39

I had an early scan at 7+5 it gives a more accurate date than a later scan and it was good to see the heartbeat but there's not that much to see just a bean with a food sac! 10 weeks today now feeling really nervous about the impact of this corona virus!! Xx

Hi thanks for the add, only 12DPO but got a BFP yesterday. AF not due till 22nd but I usually find out early anyway. Haven't told DH yet. We are in isolation for a month here, only into the first week so far and I'm trying not to think too far ahead because I don't know how I will keep the children occupied for all that time. EDD December 1 which I'm tentatively pleased about. Xxx

Hhdxx · 19/03/2020 14:28

I'm nearly 8 weeks pregnant
Should I be worried that my boobs are hurting less? Xx

showmethegin · 19/03/2020 20:00

I'm really sorry to say I'll be bowing out of this group as I miscarried today. Crushed doesn't begin to cover it and the medical 'care' I have received has made a horrendous situation worse.

I truly wish you all the happiest healthiest pregnancies and I hope to be rejoining a group like this in the not too distant future.
