My favourite midwife is on call, so if baby could just pick tonight to be the night that would be great Grin

Anybody else in the later stages of pregnancy and ready to give birth now?!

But so far it's not worked. The only thing hurting is my legs 😭

LucaFritz · 23/01/2020 23:55

Im officially in labour Grin waters have gone and having on/off contractions so he has until Saturday to make his appearance or ill have to go down the induction route

FrederickSinclair · 24/01/2020 02:39

Im exhausted already Sad slooowly progressing though so might not require an induction after all but i feel like i could sleep for 1000yrs right now

Engard · 24/01/2020 08:06

Congratulations @LucaFritz! Can't wait for a birth announcement ❤️❤️

shutupsteph · 24/01/2020 08:26

so exciting @lucafritz!

all i've woken up to is a migraine, not quite the relaxing, oxytocin inducing thing i need to get this baby out. 40+3 😣😭 if anyone needs me i'll be in a dark room with an ice pack strapped to my head

Engard · 24/01/2020 09:29

@shutupsteph Have you any swelling anywhere?

Definitely need to call triage and report it. I ignored a migraine at 17 weeks and ended up in hospital for 3 days.

shutupsteph · 24/01/2020 09:31

@engard no swelling and blood pressure is fine, i've had a few preeclampsia scares so they've made me aware of what to look out for. it does seem to be easing off luckily!

FrederickSinclair · 24/01/2020 09:32

It is exhaustion like no other, isn't it Luca? Last time I was falling asleep standing up for 30 seconds or so at a time in between every contraction!

Can it be a sign of labour that I'm just ridiculously teary today? 😅 I'm taking everything as a sign!
Had a lot of down there daggers and an ache in my back but feels like it might just be hip pain.
I can't take another 2 weeks and I really don't want to be induced again 😞
I'll bribe him out with chocolate, works for my toddler.

crazymuseummumtobe · 24/01/2020 18:06

Well, today is 40+1. I had a sweep yesterday, midwife said I was 1cm dilated and she could feel the top of baby's head... But nothing today apart from a few random daggers down below and the urge to clear some dead stuff in the garden (but not to do the washing up or hang up the laundry, strangely...). Come on, baby, where've you got to?!

FrederickSinclair · 24/01/2020 18:20

Engard the day before I went into labour last time, I absolutely bawled my eyes out for ages because I'd undercooked a boiled egg and had to throw it away - I felt so bad for the poor chicken who had laid it !

Hi everyone Smile 40+2 here with dc2 and symptom watching is driving me crazy!
Having strong Braxtons mostly when led down, but no other signs to speak of and feeling so impatient now!

LucaFritz · 24/01/2020 22:40

The gel has been in about 2hrs its working but slowly so think I'll end up on the drip which i didn't want but at this stage they could offer to pull him out sideways and id say yes 😂

slipperywhensparticus · 24/01/2020 22:43

Make plans and get behind on your washing 🤔 my daughter showed up three weeks early I swear she did it because I planned to decorate the lounge and get all the washing done

Engard · 24/01/2020 23:03

@slipperywhensparticus I agree there! I'd given up waiting and booked cinema tickets then my daughter was born that morning!

slipperywhensparticus · 25/01/2020 12:40

My daughter was due june 26th we had a huge family day out planned 21st june loads of jokes about if my aunt (nurse) remembered her midwife training she said well it's just a matter of catching really 😂 then she said it first babies are always late anyway so OF COURSE she came early

shutupsteph · 25/01/2020 12:43

@lucafritz any updates? 👶🏻

Engard · 25/01/2020 12:59

I think my waters have gone. I'm out walking my dog and out of nowhere I'm drenched. How do I know for sure?? I never felt anything 🤷🏻‍♀️

slipperywhensparticus · 25/01/2020 13:20

That sounds about right put a pad in and see if it gets wet? Should be pee coloured but not smell of pee

shutupsteph · 25/01/2020 13:21

@engard that's super exciting! pop a pad on and lie down for half an hour, then stand up and see if anything comes out? then i think you call the hospital and take the pad in and they can test if it is your waters? that's what i keep reading anyway 🙈

OccasionalNachos · 25/01/2020 13:25

Can I join in the moaning & misery? 39+4 today but am measuring a little bit big so induction is being discussed. Baby is head down but not particularly well engaged. I am also full of raspberry leaf tea & going for spicy Korean food tonight...

Hope you’re doing well @LucaFritz!

FirstTimeDS · 25/01/2020 13:26

I remember reading that it feels like when you sneeze on your period. Good luckkk!

OccasionalNachos · 25/01/2020 13:30

I’ve booked a haircut for my actual due date, to see whether that spurs anything into action Grin

SidSparrow · 25/01/2020 14:17

40 + 5 here! Tried hot curry, a lager and doggy style yesterday... Nothing!

Today I went swimming, was bouncing up and down in the pool, got pineapple to eat and raspberry leaf tea to drink and doing some nipple tweakin (midwife's suggestion) If none of that works then I give up Hmm
