My favourite midwife is on call, so if baby could just pick tonight to be the night that would be great Grin

Anybody else in the later stages of pregnancy and ready to give birth now?!

I'd be willing to try the lager thing tonight! 😆 I heard that sex induces labour because of both the oxytocin (happy, safe hormone) it produces in you, as well as the effect of sperm on the cervix. I still can't think of anything I'd rather do less, mind you...

Sex and nipple stimulation. Do some hand expressing.

Bouncing on a ball won’t start labour, but good for optimal fetal positioning. Eating dates and drinking RLT needs to be from 34weeks and religiously with increasing amounts to be effective. And neither will actually put you into labour but have other benefits and effects for birth.
No amount of curry and pineapple will do it either.

What is RL tea?

crazymuseummumtobe · 22/01/2020 11:16

Raspberry Leaf Tea. Supposed to help the uterine muscles do their thing properly when the time comes. The Heath and Heather brand from Holland and Barratt is quite tasty.

Bluerussian · 22/01/2020 11:26

Thank you crazymusemm. It sounds really nice.

So I couldn't avoid the sweep, it wasn't too bad actually. Fingers crossed it's kick started something and I can get this danny baby out of me!

SidSparrow · 22/01/2020 15:26

40+2 here. Had a pretty crap sleep last night, was cramping a lot and sure that today would be the day. By morning - nothing!! This is DC2. Hoping for tonight!

LucaFritz · 23/01/2020 00:42

Having some promising back pain tonight anf general discomfort when trying to get comfy so hope this is a sign labour is coming!

FirstTimeDS · 23/01/2020 01:35

I've given up. He's never leaving, I'm going to be pregnant forever

FrederickSinclair · 23/01/2020 04:29

Sat having a large strong coffee Brew if the caffeine doesn't evict him it'll get him moving 😂 still getting the odd twinge in my back just hoping they develop into actual contractions sometime today

LucaFritz · 23/01/2020 04:45

@firsttimeDS I too have thought what if he stays in forever...he could be doing his 11+ in there at this rateHmm

Judgybitch · 23/01/2020 04:51

Ha careful what you wish for. Currently in very early labour after saying to my oh a few hours ago. 'Its strange having to wait' my son was born when my waters broke at 36+6 So with my current it was strange to get to 37+3. Waters broke again like the first time while I was sleeping, been to the hospital and back and now labouring st home but can't sleep...

LucaFritz · 23/01/2020 07:23

My back pains are getting more intense and im having constipation like pains across my front is that normal ?

FrederickSinclair · 23/01/2020 07:46

Oh exciting Judgy - good luck!

I've been having sporadic back pain on and off for a while, I think it might be Braxton Hicks but not sure. Like a random spasm type pain in my lower back that lasts a few seconds and stops me in my tracks. I have noticed them increasing in the last day or two though!

Tried the lager, tried doggy style, lost a big ol' chunk of mucus but not much else is happening!

How come we can patiently go 37+ weeks but as soon as the end is nigh all patience goes out of the window 🙈 lets get these baby's out!

emma8t4 · 23/01/2020 09:30

41+1 here still 3cm and had sweep no3 yesterday. His head is off centre which might be why I’m not going into labour so if anyone has any suggestions on how to get him to shimmy over to my left it would be much appreciated Wink

LucaFritz · 23/01/2020 09:36

Get on a birthing ball and do wide circular movements there's YouTube videos on it

Engard · 23/01/2020 19:02

I walked 7 miles today. If that doesn't set me off then I'm out! Nothing works.

LucaFritz · 23/01/2020 20:44

7?!?! I can barely walk up the stairs 😂 think a 7 mile walk would kill what's left of my poor pelvis at this point

FrederickSinclair · 23/01/2020 20:47

Just reading about you walking 7 miles might be enough to start my labour...

shutupsteph · 23/01/2020 21:40

🙈 i've just walked up and down every aisle in asda and low key think i need to go for a lie down, how can you do 7 miles?!

FirstTimeDS · 23/01/2020 22:03

I walked to our local shop then had ..no joke..a 3 hour nap.

emma8t4 · 23/01/2020 22:09

I’ve been on the ball pretty much all day, downstairs feels wounded Grin but i apart from that I feel no different. Going to look forward (and enjoy) my child free weekend as ds is at his dads and have accepted that I’m looking at induction on Monday.

Engard · 23/01/2020 22:21

It was over 2 sessions! A dog walk then a walk to town and back. Stamina came purely from my desire to walk this baby out.
