Hellloooooo,

So I found out I was pregnant today. Very surprised as I was expecting my period (been cramping like mad for the past few days). Last period was on the 9th of Nov (28 day cycle) so I'm around 3 weeks. Very excited but still kind of in shock. I am extremely clueless about pregnancy, and yes, I know google is my friend, but I thought it'd be nice to join this and hopefully share/get advice from other pregnant chicks!

Don't be shy to say hola!

Xmas Smile

Hi all I'd like to join the thread if it's okay with everyone!
I'm a second time mum and I found out I was pregnant a week ago today! I'm due on the 13th of August so that makes me 5 weeks and 5 days pregnant! Have massive paranoia that something is going to to wrong with the baby I don't know why!!

mimiblack · 20/12/2019 15:33

@Cluelessyoungmum so I was in your position a few years ago. I was 22 and had just finished my PGCE. Found out I was pregnant, had been with my partner 2 years; I was so disappointed and gutted because I'd just accepted my first job as a year 4 teacher in a school near me in London. I really knew I wasn't ready financially and physically. Plus, my parents are Arab and would have been extremely angry if they had known. Anyway, I weighed out my options and decided to terminate as I was very early on and just knew it was the right decision for me. Til this day I don't regret it BUT one thing I have to say is, a career can always wait. My sister for one, had her daughter at 26 and finished uni after. Now has a really good job. But yeah, do what's best for you. Wether that's keep the baby or not. Whatever will make you happiest is the most important thing I think. Hope this bit of advice helped you!

To anyone else reading, please don't judge 🙏

Does anyone else feel like there on a emotional rollercoaster? My situation is not ideal, my partner is a single Dad and lives a 100 miles away, he would love for my to move to his with the baby however it means leaving my family, friends and job. I don’t know what to do for the best and it is causing me a lot of anxiety. X

Hello all, congratulations!🎉 I found out on tuesday and am now 4 weeks 4 days(probably change after pur first scan lol) duw August 25th 2020! This is our second time round our DD is almost 3 (January 4th) we are so excited!
@Cluelessyoungmum I can completly relate, i was 16 and pregnant with my first and it was the biggest shock of my life i was just finishing my gcses, having a child doesnt mean you cant achieve it just means youve got an extra person to share those achievements with and make proud! Im now 20 and being a mum is just a part of who i am i know its scary especially when all of your friends are partying etc youll achieve sooner than you think, youve got to think of what is best for you and your mental well-being now i was lucky to have a support system from family so it made my decision to keep much easier but it all depends on where your heads at and how youre feeling youre not in the wrong to feel scared or question anything its completely normal especially when its unexpected! Good luck and if you need a chat please feel free to respond youre not alone!❤️

Can I join too. I I'm 6+6 (due 9.8.2020) and this is my 4th pregnancy. I've had a preemie, 2 miscarriages last year and now this pregnancy.
I'm freaking out as I was supposed to have surgery in the spring to remove my gallbladder as its making me very sick but that can't happen now. I'm also getting married in October so its a lot. plus I get hg so that's hit with a vengeance. Just feeling very overwhelmed, scared and very very sick

Hey everyone!!
Found out today that I’m pregnant and if my dates work I should be due end of August time... I’ve been experiencing some cramping like period pains and back ache... this is my first baby and I’m very nervous (I want to be super excited but just super scared of every twinge!!) Anyone know if these cramps are normal?
Thanks:) x

JustAnotherMummy20 · 24/12/2019 16:09

@Csmith966 hello, im not medically trained but think slight cramping is normal i thought i was going to have my cycle with my first and it was just cramping all ohr organs move etc to fit the baby! If you have any bleeding or pain contact your gp and ask to be seen by epau -early pregnancy assessment unit- theyll take bloods and again after 48hours to check your hcg is rising think it should rise atleast 60 something% all should be OK its hard to be excited until you hear the heartbeat we are the same on baby number 2 hope all works out! Good Luck💓

Amber2097 · 24/12/2019 22:09

Hello!

I’m very new to mumsnet thought I would join to rant to other expecting mamas instead of my ignorant OH. I am due 11 August very nervous I’m 22 :) x

Amber2097 · 24/12/2019 22:22

Sent before I finished!

I've been having BAD sickness. Feels like my food floats in my stomach and at the top of my throat. Can't have orange or any ice cream it makes me sick as a dog. Had cramps too! Anyone had this?

Also gone cold turkey on fluoxetine because of depression and plummeted very hard for the first 2 weeks. Any one in the same position? X

number5andcounting · 25/12/2019 01:38

Hi can I join my due date is roughly 6th August and this will be baby number 6 Grinvery unexpected as my youngest is 8 and we didn't plan for anymore haha , just like to say congratulations to you all and wish you all the best in your pregnancies. I've had a few issues with bleeding on and off and had 2 scans firsts one only showed sac and second I saw the heartbeat which is very reassuring I still have days where the bleeding is red and others it's brown so I'm still not telling many people because I just don't know how I would deal if I had another miscarriage I've had 4 in the past also my nausea has kicked up a level and I feel sick all evening Confused

Csmith966 · 26/12/2019 09:48

Hi @Amber2097 I’m 23 and found out recently I’m pregnant... I also have these cramps like period pains occasionally but research is telling me it’s pretty normal. No sickness at the moment, however not really much appetite. I am terrified though, I didn’t think I could have kids so I’m happy to know I can conceive but I do feel very scared/anxious as it’s all so new!! I’m just hoping all these emotions are normal??

kkr168 · 26/12/2019 20:37

Hi everyone, found out on saturday that i'm pregnant, my due dates coming out as 20/08/2020.
I have a 16 year old son with my husband & 2 stepsons (18 & 21) that have lived with us from 1 & 4 years of age, this baby has come as a huge shock but we are very excited. We told the boys xmas morning, they were shocked but very happy!!
We are all hoping for a girl.
As my 1st pregnancy was so long ago what is my next step, gp appointment, nurse or straight to midwife? We are going away until the 30th so will have to book an appointment for our return.

EssElsiee · 27/12/2019 08:52

@kkr168 I self referred to my local hospital / midwife through an online form. A GP would only do the same thing I thing so you’re just cutting out the middle man! The hospital then sent me a letter in the post with my appointment on. X

Newmamaclub · 30/12/2019 01:11

Just a quick update for you ladies who are struggling with morning sickness. I bought “sea bands” from boots. Complete game changer! Although it’s cheaper online but I was so desperate I paid £9. You should deffo give it ago!

BoboN5 · 01/01/2020 10:25

Oh hi everyone! waves and huge congrats all! Flowers I'm 7 weeks today, due 18th August - it's my first pregnancy. Thought I'd be panicking when I found out but we've been trying for a year so I'm just full of excitement! So lovely to find out at this time of year so that my partner and I can stay in our own little bubble. Feeling quite lucky so far as I've evaded most of the bad symptoms but trying not to get too complacent!
