Hellloooooo,

So I found out I was pregnant today. Very surprised as I was expecting my period (been cramping like mad for the past few days). Last period was on the 9th of Nov (28 day cycle) so I'm around 3 weeks. Very excited but still kind of in shock. I am extremely clueless about pregnancy, and yes, I know google is my friend, but I thought it'd be nice to join this and hopefully share/get advice from other pregnant chicks!

Don't be shy to say hola!

Xmas Smile

Newmamaclub · 09/12/2019 17:17

Hi @sel2223 Congratulations! Welcome to the August baby club lol. Best wishes x

jeels · 09/12/2019 18:37

Hi everyone!
Just got my BFP and really didn’t expect it and I am just feeling so anxious.
I had a missed miscarriage in May at 10 weeks and I have no idea how to feel, I am definitely more scared than anything! Trying for our first baby.
Est due date 19th Aug so keeping everything crossed!

ChristmasComing123 · 09/12/2019 19:17

Hi everyone. I just found out today I am pregnant. My due date is 22nd august. Doesn't feel real yet. Only 10 dpo so going to test again when period would have been due this weekend. So far been very thirsty, tired and had heartburn which is unusual for me.

Michette · 09/12/2019 20:55

@ChristmasComing123 congrats!
This is early for the bfp so it must be a strong one :) (or two)
I had the same symptoms and period cramps before i found out! Thirsty tired and burping because of the heartburn/reflux...
All this is still the case, i will be 5 weeks tomorrow.

Good luck!

Iliada · 10/12/2019 14:27

I guess I can officially join the club! Congrats to all you ladies!

I had the official word today from the doctor that I am pregnant (although I really cheated and tested early on Thursday).

I have been undergoing a mild form of fertility treatment and this is a donor baby, so they wanted to check with a blood test. And I have to take progesterone, which can give a false impression of pregnancy symptoms.

Due date would be 14th August if it all worked out.

I am so excited and really scared that something will go wrong. I’m a huge worrier just generally, so this is hard.

Got to go for a scan in 10 days and already slightly freaking out. I just keep telling myself that the human race has lasted this long while doing some really crazy, unhygienic and stupid things, and nowadays our lives are so clean and comfortable - so anything I do or eat or stress about (within reason) probably won’t affect the outcome of this pregnancy.

Iliada · 10/12/2019 14:29

Oh yes, and it was heartburn made me order some early internet tests at 10 DPO - I’ve never had heartburn before in my life. I thought it had to mean something!

mimiblack · 10/12/2019 19:22

Hey girls,

Keep forgetting who to tag so just going to write like this! I guess it's normal to feel worried that the pregnancy can end at any minute. I'm just trying to think positively. I've only told my family and very close friends to me who I wouldn't feel strange around IF something was to happen. I've also read that miscarriages tend to happen if there is something wrong with the chromosomes in the egg so I guess if something did happen, it would be for the best. Make sense?

Still no symptoms for me. Apart from the odd cramp and sore nipples, I'm cool. Trying to cut down on the cups of tea and eat more fruit (hate fruit ugh).

Who's booked their first GP app? Mines on the 23rd of December. Looking forward to it 🙏

@newlymarried2019 I've only ever been late when I've travelled abroad. Have you use a clear blue? I feel like their more reliable...

Hi, congratulations to all mums. I’m due 10/8/20
I’m excited but exhausted.
I’m craving tomatoes and olive . Good luck all and have a safe delivery

Nics23 · 10/12/2019 21:20

Hi everyone and congratulations! I tested yesterday and am 4 weeks and due on August 14th 🥰 a bit of cramping so far, sore nipples and overwhelming nausea if I don’t eat every few hours!

Newmamaclub · 10/12/2019 22:34

@mimiblack congrats! So I exactly understand what you mean about anything can happen. Unfortunately I slipped and fell today and had a hard impact hit. I hope the baby is okay. I’m feeling very worried and anxious 😥 I did go for my first GP appt today and the GP was so helpful he spent almost half hour talking through everything with me. As I also suffer from chronic migraines he talked me through my medications.
I’m 5Months 5 days today and I haven’t had any major symptoms which is worrying but also I don’t mind not having major symptoms. I do have cramping and mostly nausea after I eat. And MAJOR EXHAUSTION! 😩 sore breasts to a point over the weekend shower was painful.

Crazypanda85 · 10/12/2019 23:57

Hi!!!!!!
Due 9th August 2020. So exciting had my doctors appointment today and now am officially in possession of my green notes! Finally feels real after being in shock for a week. A very welcome pregnancy but did not expect it to happen so quickly.
My only worry is I seem to go from a lot of symptoms to absolutely none which worries me. I never thought I would want sore boobs and to feel sick but I do now !!!

Kbr1986 · 11/12/2019 06:16

Hi ladies. First time poster here. Found out back on Sunday 1st that I'm pregnant. This will be our 2nd baby. Already got a little girl who is 13.5 months so will have a 22 month age gap which is what we wanted. I used OPKs so I know when we conceived which was the 12th Nov. Have 28 day cycles and LMP was 6th Nov so puts me at 12th August. In an ideal world I wanted my children to be 2 school years apart and born in September or october but we are just blessed that it happened so easily for us again. Starting to feel a bit sick if hungry but I'm prepared as last time I was so sick so I've got the ginger biscuits and rich tea biscuits at the ready!

53Lucy · 11/12/2019 06:45

@Crazypanda85 I know what you mean, I kind of also wish for more symptoms to know it's real! But we'd probably not want them when we're chucking up every day! Congrats

mimiblack · 11/12/2019 07:27

@Newmamaclub ah hope you're okay. Im sure baby is fine! What did your GP talk you through? Also did he refer you to your midwife? Still don't know how this all works Hmm

Newmamaclub · 11/12/2019 10:19

@mimiblack I just have some bruised ribs and arms 🤕 I’m okay just in bed rest. So he done a protein test with my urine I did tell him I’m a pescatarian also. He kept bugging me to do my flu jab at least 6 times I declined and Bcuz he was so persistent I said I’ll think about it.
He also asks questions about baby dad and living situation, if it’s planned baby. He said I need MMR, diphtheria, polio & Tetanus. Which I didn’t know I needed.
He then gave me 2 blood test forms and said i need to check if I’ve had MMR and just to do a normal bloods to check of everything's okay. He also referred me to the midwife he did say I could’ve done self referral. He said to keep an eye on my BP as I have low bp in general. And checked my weight. Oh and also spoke about Vitamins to take during pregnancy.

I did ask how long will my referral take he said he isn’t sure but not too long. I just want to do my scan ASAP! I tried to book one privately but no dates are available near to me. 😅

princesspeppax · 11/12/2019 10:48

Hi all, hope its ok to join Smile I have recently found out we are expecting DC3 in August 2020 (unplanned contraceptive fail) but we are surprisingly very excited and happy! Cant wait for the next few weeks to pass until we can see babys heartbeat, the first few weeks are so worrying 😥 so far no symptoms but hopefully they appear soon

EssElsiee · 12/12/2019 16:18

I’m due 4th August!! Had a scan Tuesday as didn’t know how far along I was.. turns out 6 weeks! I was lucky, the embryo and heartbeat was visualized from a normal ultrasound scan. Feeling awfully nauseous almost 90% of the time!! Very anxious as first pregnancy and my body had already been through a lot as I am a breast cancer survivor of a year!! Phew. Happy to join the club

Newmamaclub · 13/12/2019 13:09

@EssElsiee congratulations! I just wanted to know if you had a private scan? I’ve been trying to find one that doesn’t state that it might be internal. No really don’t fancy that at the moment 😫

Since yesterday I started getting very bad acid reflux and feeling sick after every meal I woke up in a sweat at 6 am feeling horrible this morning.

Wishing you all the best. ☺️☺️

EssElsiee · 13/12/2019 14:41

@Newmamaclub it was my first nhs dating scan, because of how irregular my periods were I was unsure how far along I was. Just a usual ultrasound! I have had a internal scan before though when I froze my eggs and it’s really not that bad Smile

Iliada · 13/12/2019 18:59

Yes, just wanted to agree that internal scans are really not that bad. You have loads with fertility treatments and there’s usually just a moment where they push the wand right up against the cervix that’s a bit ouchy. But it’s more uncomfortable than painful.

Unless there’s a particular reason why it might be more painful for you, I wouldn’t say no to one for because of pain.

Beku94 · 14/12/2019 03:03

Hi ladies, I'm pleased to ask can I join? :) found out a few days ago, due August 22nd! Anyone else terrified of every niggly pain/being woken up each night haha 😰♥️
