5 weeks Pregnant

Hi all,

I am only 5 weeks pregnant (due 24th of July) with baby number 2! All went well last pregnancy (appart from horrific morning sickness from 6 - 23 weeks)

I have seen a few old threads with Ladies asking this question but would be nice to have some reassurance from other Mums to be on how terrifying the wait to 12 weeks is!

I'm so scared something goes wrong every time I go to the loo I'm checking for blood and any pains in my abdomen i feel I'm convinced something bad is happening 😭 x

@Mummy2be20
Thank you for your kind words.
I also agree with others, if the pain becomes something you can't bear, it's always worth getting checked out.

@JackGordonsMummy oh you poor love, hope you're both doing ok. Glad bubs inside is well too. Must have been a huge scare!

I'm doing ok, gone back to work. Talking about it with people has helped. Going to be absolutely crapping myself come Thursday though!!

Mummy2be20 · 11/03/2020 06:48

@JackGordonsMummy I'm sure it s just ligament pain, it's not unbearable!! Doesn't help I have a trapped nerve in my back 🤦🏽‍♀️ may also be due to constipation!! Doesn't help I am such a fidget all the time in my sleep, so waking up this morning I had pain but that was due to being on my tummy and needing a wee desperately because I didn't wake up 10 times in the night woo!! God it's swings and roundabouts 😂
So glad your all okay!! What a nightmare and a worry!!

@pottypotamus your welcome!! Will have everything crossed for tomorrow, just stay positive (hard I know) and let us know!!xx

Mummy2be20 · 11/03/2020 21:55

When did everyone feel their babies first fluttering around inside?

pottypotamus · 12/03/2020 09:00

Thanks @Mummy2be20 ❤️
I felt flutters from 17 weeks and they became definite movements at 19 weeks.

squirrelnutkins1 · 12/03/2020 09:24

18/19 weeks. Now feel stronger at 20 weeks xx

JackGordonsMummy · 12/03/2020 09:35

I was 22 weeks 1st pregnancy and 16 weeks for flutters this time but now 21 week weeks proper kicks and rolls.

Thinking of you today @pottypotamus

I've had the cold since Saturday its starting to clear up but I feel so dizzy lightheaded and tingly like pins and needles. I was only at Maternity assessment on Tuesday so don't wanna bother them again... anyone else experience this xx

Everyone says so different!! I'm aware it's too early now, I can't wait though?!!!
My tummy has already popped out slightly!! I was not expecting this to happen yet at all.
Hope your all doing okay x

Hi ladies, sorry for no update yesterday. We were both knackered after travelling into London and back for the appt.

We are massively relieved after yesterday's scan. The specialist said he doesn't think there's anything to worry about and that the fluid they can see looks like a remnant from when baby was an embryo and should hopefully disappear.

He's asked me to go back in 3 weeks so they can monitor it. I could have cried. Thank you for all your support ladies, it's been a huge help being able to talk and vent about everything 💕💕😘

I have also suddenly popped and my belly is huge! I've had to tell people at work because it's just so obvious now.

hermionelodge · 13/03/2020 16:40

@pottypotamus thays great news!! So happy for you! ❤

JackGordonsMummy · 13/03/2020 16:59

Aww amazing you have popped! I'm huge too and we're only half way there haha!

@pottypotamus that's amazing!! So relieved for you!! Great news. Time to stay positive and get excited.

You are all a lot further on than me, I'm only just over 14 weeks and have a tummy! I mean not a huge bump 😂

squirrelnutkins1 · 15/03/2020 17:31

@pottypotamus what a relief!!!!!! 💐💐💐

pottypotamus · 15/03/2020 18:46

Thank you ladies 💕
Starting to look at names now and bought another chest of drawers yesterday.

Have you ladies thought much about names? DH is still trying to convince me to find out the sex so we can 'narrow down' the choice.

WeeScottishWife · 15/03/2020 19:15

We've talked a little bit, quite casually, about names we like, and a few names we don't. One of the things that we're very excited about around finding out the gender is being able to start thinking more seriously about a name. We think it'll take us a bit of time to find something we settle on.

Mummy2be20 · 15/03/2020 19:50

Your all slightly further on than me but we have spoken about names as a bit of fun, we have two which we have lived since before we were pregnant!
When did you all (if you have) start buying bits small essentials and bits and bobs and then when do you all get bigger things?

hermionelodge · 15/03/2020 20:18

We have our girls name sorted but really struggling with boys names! All the ones I lole my DP doesn't and vice versa! Very annoying! It's quite stressful as it's a big task, you want a name that suits a baby but will grow well with them into adulthood!

We were very lucky that we have been given a full travel system from a friend so that's one big purchase out the way. We have just been buying other little bits here and there to try and spread out the cost a bit.

squirrelnutkins1 · 15/03/2020 20:22

We've got our girls name, well 98% sure 💕

Mummy2be20 · 15/03/2020 21:38

@hermionelodge how far gone are you and when did you start buying?
That's what we are struggling with. Knowing when we should start as we wish to spread the cost slightly too x

hermionelodge · 15/03/2020 22:09

@Mummy2be20 I will be 21 weeks tomorrow. I think we bought out first thing when i was about 14 weeks as it was half price in asda baby event. Our budget is quite tight and we are trying to really save for my mat leave as I only get SMP after the first 6 weeks, so we thought the earlier we start the better. We also planned to start buying things like nappies and wipes on the weekly shop just to spread it out and help us but now with all the panic buying going on we would rather leave it til later to ensure theres plenty for people who actually need them right now. I was told by a few people that I'm over organised and plenty time but I find it much better for us buying one or two things a month and spreading the cost. X

Mummy2be20 · 16/03/2020 06:56

@hermionelodge I am 14 weeks, we brought 2 little outfits after our 13 week scan. A couple of my friends have said that I need to start getting organised now but I feel this is a little too early!?
Big things we will wait until later on and the nursery but like you I will only get SMP so we are going to budget and buy bits when on offer etc.
Panic buying is crazy so yes deffo leaving it to later once all of this has calmed down is a good idea!!

JackGordonsMummy · 16/03/2020 17:50

Hi ladies what you all doing about the Caronavirus advice? ... Just watched the news and the advice is for Pregnant Woman to avoid social contact and gatherings x

OP posts:
squirrelnutkins1 · 16/03/2020 18:20

I've been limiting where I go for a few days now and not socialising. Unbelievably DH has started with a cough and temperature so looks like we're stuck in for 14 days... altho we're meant to be moving house in 10 days. I just don't know what we're going to do. The new house is a building site. Feeling very sorry for myself.

hermionelodge · 16/03/2020 18:29

I have no idea. Theres no evidence either way thah we are are more at risk or not. Unfortunately theres just not enough evidence at the moment. Its worrying, I've been trying to just carry on as normal but obviously being a bit more careful with hygiene and what I'm touching etc. Its just such a sad worrying time! It's not really feasible for me to work from home either yet people in my work are being sent home to self isolate. I just feel a bit lost with it all! X

pottypotamus · 16/03/2020 19:29

The latest government guidelines are for pregnant women to be treated as over 70s and those with underlying medical conditions. As crap as it is, I'm trying to limit social and public contact as much as possible.

Mummy2be20 · 16/03/2020 21:56

I am a private nanny and finding it so hard to avoid all contact with public situations.
Some of the bigger groups that I usually go too are cancelled. There's a very small sport group on this week which I may go too as I know lots of the people who are there and it's not as hands on as a standard toddler group!!
It's so hard, one minute we are told there is no evidence and the next we have to be classed as vulnerable. So stressful
