Hi all,

I am only 5 weeks pregnant (due 24th of July) with baby number 2! All went well last pregnancy (appart from horrific morning sickness from 6 - 23 weeks)

I have seen a few old threads with Ladies asking this question but would be nice to have some reassurance from other Mums to be on how terrifying the wait to 12 weeks is!

I'm so scared something goes wrong every time I go to the loo I'm checking for blood and any pains in my abdomen i feel I'm convinced something bad is happening 😭 x

Hello ladies, hope you're all doing well!
Lots of snow this morning for us!!
I am 19 weeks today and feeling bubs move a lot more now. They are still only little pokes and prods but very nice and reassuring to feel.
My 20 wk scan is next Thursday. I can't wait but am also very nervous about it.

JackGordonsMummy · 27/02/2020 09:32

Morning @pottypotamus I'm 19 weeks today aswell! Forgot we were due date twins!

I've been feeling lots of movement if really is so much more reassuring!

My 20 week scan is on Tuesday Tuesday can't wait to see her again!

Surprisingly we don't have snow here in Glasgow! Hope the weather spears up for you soon.

Please let us know how your scan goes. Are you finding out the gender? xx

Hi @JackGordonsMummy
Good luck with your scan on Tuesday! Update us too! I will come and update.
I am trying to convince DH to not find out the sex this time. We did with ds and dd. And now I would like to experience what it is like being told at birth!

Mummy2be20 · 27/02/2020 14:14

I'm not as far gone but didn't know if anyone has suffered with waking loads in the night and not being able to get comfy or back to sleep! It's so frustrating :(
My nausea is slowly subsiding and I feel I'm able to eat more of a better diet now!!
I have been on holiday for a couple weeks so haven't been eating healthy, plus was just eating what I wanted as so many foods made me sick. but I just weighed my self and have put more lbs on than id have liked too!!

squirrelnutkins1 · 27/02/2020 17:55

Yep! From very early on terrible terrible hip pain!!! The joys!

JackGordonsMummy · 27/02/2020 18:32

@pottypotamus that's actually a lovely idea to experience the surprise I think you should go with that. If I ever have a 3rd I'll be the same! Can't wait to hear how you get on!!
@mummy2be20
I've gained nearly 1 and a half stone (I was under weight when I fell preg) but I'm not worried I gained 4 stone with DS and went back down with in 6 weeks hopefully I'm lucky again haha!

I'm at 18 weeks today, and I think I can feel baby moving a little bit now... can't quite tell though. I think it'll be interesting in a few weeks to look back and be able to say "oh yes, it WAS movements I was feeling at that point!" but at the moment I can't tell for sure yet, it might just be other stomach gurgles.

I do wake up most nights now though, which is a bit frustrating, and then when I roll from one side to the other, it feels quite uncomfortable while I'm mid-roll.

JackGordonsMummy · 05/03/2020 17:00

@WeeScottishWife aww that's amazing! Feeling movement is the best part and the further along you get the more you feel and see! I have lots of moment now at 20 weeks but this is my second I'm sure I didn't feel (or notice) movement this early last time.

@pottypotamus
I was wrong my scan is actually tomorrow! Let's blame the baby brain lol! How did yours go?

How is everyone doing? I've got rib pain under my left breast its freaking me out but google says it's normal Haha! X

Good luck with your scan tomorrow @JackGordonsMummy!

Just had my scan, I've been referred to UCLH for another scan as they noticed something not right in the brain. I can't stop crying. I don't know how I'm going to go to work tomorrow. The first thing I'll be asked is how was the scan.

I'm trying my best to keep it together as my 5 yo ds was with us. But I'm not doing a very good job. Sorry to bring a downer on the group.

squirrelnutkins1 · 05/03/2020 19:56

@pottypotamus big hugs xxx did they give you any kind of indication of what's going on? I hope you get seen really quickly. Hugs xxx

pottypotamus · 05/03/2020 20:25

Thank you @squirrelnutkins1
They mentioned there's too much Echolucent fluid in the brain. I have no idea what that means.
But baby was small for my gestation as well.

the fetal medicine midwife started mentioning that I might want to speak to ARC and there's no point booking growth scans at 28 weeks because I might not make it that far, I got really upset.

She didn't say it as heartless a away as that but that's how it sounded to me.

hermionelodge · 05/03/2020 21:14

@pottypotamus so sorry to hear that. Thinking of you. Did they mention how quickly you will get your referral scan? It's such a worrying time, I can only imagine how you are feeling and the wait is agonising. Really wishing you the best of luck that it's not as bad as it may seem and you have a more positive result from your next scan. X

squirrelnutkins1 · 05/03/2020 21:37

Oh babes ☹️ really hoping you get seen soon and it's just a scare. Biggest of hugs. Forget work tomorrow, they'll understand. Have you got support with you? @pottypotamus xx

pottypotamus · 05/03/2020 21:45

Thank you @hermionelodge I should hear back tomorrow by 4pm and the referral appt should be within a week. Just hoping it's sooner rather than later.

@squirrelnutkins1 my DH has been with me the whole time. He's trying to be strong for me but I know he's upset too. I haven't told anyone else until we know for sure what's wrong.
I can't go into complete meltdown as my ds will know something is wrong. Luckily he didn't have a clue what was going on in the scan and didn't pick up on anything. So he's none the wiser bless him.

I'm not googling things because I know it'll make me feel worse. Just going to try and keep busy this weekend and hopefully the next week will go by quick.

Thanks for all you support ladies 💕

Thank you both @squirrelnutkins1 @JackGordonsMummy 😘
I'm feeling a little stronger today, although I did have a little cry. Took the day off and sat around eating and watching tv. It was amazing!
I got a call from UCLH and I've been given an appt for Thursday afternoon.
DH keeps reminding me that the whole scan went really well apart from right at the end when the sonographer noticed something strange in the brain, which may or may not be nothing.

I think it was just the shock of being told there's potentially something wrong. Feeling a lot more positive and urging bubs to be ok.

JackGordonsMummy · 06/03/2020 21:07

I'm so glad you're feeling more positive today it's the best frame of mind to be in your a strong woman let me know how you get on and if you need to talk in the mean time just @ me xx

@pottypotamus I also didn't get any notifications! So sorry to hear you had some horrible news but as everyone else has said too let's hope it's a mistake or something that can be sorted.
The best way to be is strong and positive! So hard I know but will make you all feel better and will make the time go a lot faster.
I have everything crossed ❤️❤️

Mummy2be20 · 10/03/2020 13:57

So I am almost 14 weeks now!! I had gotten over all the nausea and pains and fatigue and now today I have cramps and aches low down and in my left side too.
Midwife said to call the hospital if I get worried but it should be normal.
Every one always says ligament pain etc..
any advice as to whether I should worry and when I should get checked.
I'm such an armature 😫😂

squirrelnutkins1 · 10/03/2020 19:31

I got checked out yesterday because of pain and they said the same thing, probably ligaments, but yeah give them a call if you are worried. They don't mind x

JackGordonsMummy · 10/03/2020 20:11

I had the same around 14 weeks was ligament pain but I agree just call EPU if you're worried they are great!

I was at Maternity assessment today I had a fall outside while holding my 2 year old. Baby is fine and so is DS was so worried!

Hope everyone is doing well!

pottypotamus been thinking of you x
