5 weeks Pregnant

JackGordonsMummy · 23/11/2019 21:03

Hi all,

I am only 5 weeks pregnant (due 24th of July) with baby number 2! All went well last pregnancy (appart from horrific morning sickness from 6 - 23 weeks)

I have seen a few old threads with Ladies asking this question but would be nice to have some reassurance from other Mums to be on how terrifying the wait to 12 weeks is!

I'm so scared something goes wrong every time I go to the loo I'm checking for blood and any pains in my abdomen i feel I'm convinced something bad is happening 😭 x

@JackGordonsMummy it was horrible!! I'm only 8 weeks so surely shouldn't feel like that already?

It's a nightmare. Prawn cocktail flavoured crisps are my go to 🤦🏽‍♀️

JackGordonsMummy · 30/01/2020 13:09

@mummy2be20 yeah my sickness/ nausea started at 8 weeks with nothing my pregnancies hopefully won't be that bad for you and you will sail through the 1st trimester x

@JackGordonsMummy Can the dr give you anything for nausea etc? I have to fly in 10 days and I'm dreading the though of feeling this crap- even though the flight is only short.

I am glad everyone's getting on well!!

squirrelnutkins1 · 30/01/2020 13:34

Nub / skull theory www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/3808154-nub-skull-theory

Nope, only two 🙈 I've seen so many other threads where loads have commented so thought mine would be the same lol! I'm getting impatient too! @JackGordonsMummy

My nausea got worse at 11 weeks ☹️ @Mummy2be20 yes gp can 👍🏻

JackGordonsMummy · 30/01/2020 13:44

Aww @squirrelnutkins1 what a lovely and clear scan photo I have no idea on how to read the nub but you feel boy and a couple of boy guesses! Are you finding out?

I did the same www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/3809259-Can-anyone-guess-the-Gender-using-Nub-Theory?msgid=93540995#93540995 and got Girl guesses. I think it's a girl but will know for sure soon enough.

Yes @Mummy2be20 I have 2 sets of antisickness tablets get a gp appointment asap and they will help you out x

I have come put in a weird eczema rash over my chest and a little on my back. People keep saying eczema or allergy. I haven't changed anything and I have never had eczema - when I googled it it looks like puppp (the individual circles) but I'm far to early for that. Any one else got any thought?
I am going to the gps tomorrow about that so will ask about anti sickness as well

squirrelnutkins1 · 30/01/2020 16:28

I'm rubbish with it, I don't even really know where the nub is on most photos 🤣
Yeah we'll find out a fortnight yesterday. Eek. The clinic says 99.99% accurate. We're thinking of waiting for 20 week scan to confirm before telling anyone the sex tho.

It feels like a lifetime away! @JackGordonsMummy

JackGordonsMummy · 01/02/2020 18:00

Hope everyone is well!!

Good luck with your scan tomorrow @Mummy2be20 let us kbie how it goes x

@JackGordonsMummy thank you so much. I'll let you know. Starting to feel nervous now!! 🙊
I forgot to ask the woman when I booked whether or not I need a full bladder? Any idea anyone?

pottypotamus · 01/02/2020 22:00

Good luck @Mummy2be20
Yes when I went for a scan @ 8wks the email said I needed a full bladder. I was bursting throughout the scan and the sonographer even joked she could see how full my bladder was on the screen!

GaaaaarlicBread · 01/02/2020 22:15

I had to have a full bladder at 8 weeks too. Good luck, can’t wait to hear how you get on xx

Mummy2be20 · 01/02/2020 22:40

@pottypotamus thank you! I am dreading having to hold my bladder. Also very nervous 🤞🏼 hopefully will all be good

@itsemily thank you! I assumed id need too but I couldn't find it on my email.

theobald1 · 01/02/2020 23:29

Hello everyone! Hoping to join in on the chat, I’ve read through all 16 pages and it’s eased my anxiety after reading all of your journeys 😊

My wife and I are 4+3 weeks with our first. We are super excited but already filled with anxiety with our first trip to EPU to have bloods for a possible ectopic following sharp pains in her lower left abdomen. It’s all very early and with seconds bloods to be taken on Monday, we’re now at that early stage of anxiety hoping that it shows a good increase of HGC levels.

Reading most of your posts, most of you had similar pains are now 12 weeks plus!! 😍

We’re hoping it’s just gas as the pains are often followed by a burp or the bottoms end! But there’s been other ‘twinges’ as she like to call them, down below or a few dull aches like period pains too, but all seems to be very normal.

No bleeding or spotting (touch wood) and has sore boobs and super tired!

Fingers crossed we’re just being over cautious but hopefully first time mums in 9 months time will all be worth the anxiety!

Lovely to meet you all and wishing you all super sticky babies to be ❤️ xx

Mummy2be20 · 02/02/2020 06:22

@theobald1 welcome and congratulations. As you've probably read I am also one of those worriers!!

My pains were and still can be horrible. I've had sore boobs, very tired and tummy ache/cramps for weeks and I'm only 8 weeks now. I have been worried about an ectopic also and was assured by the dr and midwife that usually the pains are severe and bleeding does accompany this. Also been told that gas and constipation can cause this which I do believe is true also 🤦🏽‍♀️

Unfortunately it is hard to not worry but fingers crossed all is ok. As you said it's so reassuring to see that most other women have gone through this too which I found a huge help.

Book in for an early scan!! They can be done from 6 weeks, we have ours today so fingers crossed it's all okay, so nervous!

Stay positive as hard as it is and keep us all in the loop :)

squirrelnutkins1 · 02/02/2020 09:09

All the best today! @Mummy2be20

I'm all for extra scans, my anxiety couldn't cope with just two nhs ones. I'm 15 weeks today and still get some aches and twinges, all been normal so far but it's easier said than done to be told not to worry, but do try! @theobald1 I've got another scan next Monday cus we want to find out what baby is and also because I'm a worrier (having had a previous loss).

pottypotamus · 02/02/2020 11:08

Welcome & congrats @theobald1
Wishing you all the best for the bloods tomorrow.

I am still getting pains and twinges. I've been awfully gassy recently (sorry!) but I think that's half the reason for some of the pain. Constipation is still a PITA! Quite literally!!

I know how you feel @squirrelnutkins1 regarding being anxious. I thought I could wait it out until my 20 week scan on 5th March but I'm seriously doubting I'll make it! I'm 15+3 weeks today and have my 16 week midwife appt this Wednesday. I'm really hoping she tries to listen in on baby, that should ease my anxiety a bit.

Mummy2be20 · 02/02/2020 11:50

Hello everyone, we have been for our scan and have a little tiny baby with a very healthy heart beat and fab measurements!
We are feeling a lot more relaxed and it feels so much more real 😍

theobald1 · 02/02/2020 11:58

That’s brilliant! Congratulations @Mummy2be20!

I think what’s helping our anxiety, is no sooner does she have a pain in her abdomen... it’s very swiftly followed by gas!

I think because it’s so early and we’re so nervous, we’re hanging onto every pain and google sometimes give it the worst outcome.

Just staying positive with each day and a long road ahead 🙂

Mummy2be20 · 02/02/2020 16:35

@theobald1 thank you!! Yes 100% stay positive! I have always done the same, I had a MC a year ago early on and they were checking for ectopic so I was certain something had to be wrong this time.
I'm 8 weeks now and after today I feel a lot more chilled!!
I'd highly recommend an early scan, you can do them from 6 weeks!
I have and have had weird symptoms and a lot of gas and constipation (sorry 🤦🏽‍♀️) which is closely linked to my pains. I've had left low abdo pain since before I found out and now know it's okay so I deffo believe in the stretching and pulling because there's so so much going on inside!!
I also heard that morning sickness and nausea is a good sign of a healthy pregnancy due to the high hormones.. I have been awful the last few weeks!!
Please keep us updated

MrsD1990 · 02/02/2020 16:46

I hope it's ok that I join, I'm 4 weeks 4 days. Have read the entire thread, so lovely how supportive everyone is and so glad you're all doing so well. Great that you could hear the heart beat @Mummy2be20!

I can't wait to get an early scan, my doctor (on my work insurance) says to book it in two weeks so going to book that in. We know there won't be much to see our hear so early but really want to check! Been having pain and twinges but when I told my doctor he was just like "of course you are! You're growing a baby" which made me feel lots better.

Mummy2be20 · 02/02/2020 17:10

@MrsD1990 we didn't get to hear the heart beat but we have some fab prints of baby, can make out the head and body and we also have a video of it's little heart flicking away!was very surreal!!

I'm still having pains now, but I've got round to the idea that I need to try ignore them rather than stress my self out and seeing a healthy heart beat and baby was deffo helpful

MrsD1990 · 02/02/2020 17:41

@Mummy2be20 ohh you saw the heart beat rather than hearing it. So amazing! I hope we get to see the same at our early scan!! Ours might be a bit too early though.

pottypotamus · 02/02/2020 19:38

Great news @Mummy2be20 ! 💖
@theobald1 the gas doesn't get any better. I've found in my previous 2 pregnancies, trapped wind is a nightmare! But you get to used to knowing what foods cause you difficulty and which don't.
Welcome @MrsD1990, congrats on your pregnancy!

JackGordonsMummy · 07/02/2020 20:45

Hey everyone how are we all?

I'm still nauseous and i slept from 7pm to 10am this morning...

Had a busy day with my DS felt good today after all that sleep Haha!!

Anyways got my 16 week private scan tomorrow at 10am finding out the gender I'm so excited. I've been feeling little flutters and kicks for the past week which is good but also worrying cos I don't feel them all the time yet... there's always something...

X
