5 weeks Pregnant

JackGordonsMummy · 23/11/2019 21:03

Hi all,

I am only 5 weeks pregnant (due 24th of July) with baby number 2! All went well last pregnancy (appart from horrific morning sickness from 6 - 23 weeks)

I have seen a few old threads with Ladies asking this question but would be nice to have some reassurance from other Mums to be on how terrifying the wait to 12 weeks is!

I'm so scared something goes wrong every time I go to the loo I'm checking for blood and any pains in my abdomen i feel I'm convinced something bad is happening 😭 x

@JackGordonsMummy they said it should take about 30 mins but you never know!
No I haven't, I was hoping for an early scan as I miscarried last year and go on holiday I'm 2 weeks so just for peace of mind .. I don't know if they will though!

My nausea is horrible but thank the lord no sickness yet!

I'm hoping these cramps leave soon

hermionelodge · 27/01/2020 06:16

@JackGordonsMummy there was no more pink after that one time so taking that as a positive. My stomach is now very round and hard to hide so I will be telling work today now everyone else knows. Excited and nervous as well.

I'm finding myself waking up at 2/3am starving! I think I'm going to have to take snacks to bed!

Sorry you are still suffering nausea! Surely it is has to go soon for you! I'm with you on the headaches! They are awful! X

JackGordonsMummy · 27/01/2020 08:27

Good luck with your first midwife app today @Mummy2be20 let us know how it goes.

@hermionelodge aww fantastic I'm sure your work will be thrilled. My work have known since 12 weeks. My DP works there too so had to tell them for him to get time off for the scan. Oh starting to get a bump that's exciting. I've been showing for a while... I'm naturally very slim and I guess because this is my 2nd pregnancy my bump appeared at like 10 weeks. I really need to purchase new clothes. I've been living in leggings Haha!

What are you doing for your headaches? Paracetamol barely touches mine icth8nk I'm gonna make another GP app. Feel I'm never out the place but just fed up of feeling like crap x

@JackGordonsMummy thank you! The appointment was good, met my midwife and she's lovely which made it a lot less daunting!!
I am so nervous about having to wait until 12 weeks to be able to hear and see my baby and make sure all is okay. I am constantly worrying and checking for blood constantly and every twinge or ache I'm panicing

JackGordonsMummy · 27/01/2020 13:50

@Mummy2be20 How many weeks are you now? Did you say to your Midwife about an early scan due to your past?

Have a look on groupon they might have private scan deals for your area.

Try not to worry too much. I know how you feel I'm still checking for blood every time I wipe and I've had 3 scans already it's just a constant worry until you can feel them moving around in there i think.

We are here if you need to talk anytime xx

I'm only nearly 8 weeks!! They didn't no, I will maybe ask about it once I see her again next week for my paper work appointment.

I hadn't thought about looking on groupon!! What a good idea!!

I have had horrid tummy and back cramps the last couple of days but I think it may be due too me not eating as healthy as I have been and not being able to go to the loo (tmi sorry 😂)

Mummy2be20 · 27/01/2020 16:32

I've looked on groupon and there is nothing, I have also googled ones near me and the cheapest is £80 Confused

Mummy2be20 · 28/01/2020 11:54

@JackGordonsMummy I found a cheaper scan! Going on Sunday. I hope it all goes well!!
I keep having tummy cramps again which is annoying and stressing me out, I'm sure it's fine 🤞🏼
How's it going for you ?

JackGordonsMummy · 28/01/2020 11:57

Aww amazing @Mummy2be20 I'm so excited for you!

Try not to worry I get pains and cramps alot the GP told me as long as there is no blood its just round ligament pains... but who knows!

Can't wait to hear how you get on!

I'm working today still feeling pretty rubbish. Was sick this morning too! X

Mummy2be20 · 28/01/2020 12:25

@JackGordonsMummy I'm excited but I'm also very anxious! Hopefully this will put my mind at rest so I can stop stressing my partner out and we can enjoy our holiday together.

I know it is pretty normal and everyone says it is too. It does really help knowing others get it as well I think it's just when it happens you dread the worst. I have had period like cramps that come and go and just tummy ache - it's been going on for a while now and no bleeding or spotting so fingers crossed.

I shall update once we have been Smile

I feel your pain, my work don't know yet and it's so full on and constant I am finding my self slower and also reminding my self that some stuff I really should take a step back from. I hope you feel better soon

squirrelnutkins1 · 28/01/2020 12:38

@Mummy2be20 ooh glad you've got a scan booked 😊 it's so easy to think the worst, I know I do but I'm finally feeling a little more relaxed about pains.

@JackGordonsMummy sorry you're still feeling rubbish x

I've told 2 girls in my office but they don't know each other know 🤣 I've nearly fainted twice, once yesterday and today, really worried I'm going to get busted! Anyone else felt faint? I've got low BP anyway but not felt like this before. I went grey!

Mummy2be20 · 28/01/2020 12:52

@squirrelnutkins1 how far along are you now? I haven't I'm afraid, you'll have to blame it on a migraine Hmm
For head aches and sickness I've been told by the midwife to eat foods like hard cheese crackers etc and not many sweet foods- easier said than done because chocolate is my go too at the mo
I hope your feeling better soon

squirrelnutkins1 · 28/01/2020 13:20

14+2. Yeah I need to get a few excuses up my sleeve 🤣 I'm not ready to tell people yet. Going to wait til I've had another scan at 16+3. My anxiety is in overdrive but DH is very understanding bless him.

Ah good tip! Salt and vinegar squares, hot cross buns and lemon curd have been my craves of late! @Mummy2be20

squirrelnutkins1 · 28/01/2020 13:20

I'm not showing in the slightest yet so can get away with not saying anything x

Mummy2be20 · 28/01/2020 13:32

@squirrelnutkins1 bless you, I just have a horrible feeling I am going to become huge 😂
Are you booking private scans or getting them through midwife?
Mine is also, I just hope everything is okay when I go on Sunday, I just keep fearing the worst!
Salt and vinegar crisps of any kind and bread and pasta are my thing!! The thought of Salad and veg are not appealing currently, I hope this changes or I will be huge haha

squirrelnutkins1 · 28/01/2020 14:45

I've had two nhs (EPU and 12 week scan) and one private and the next will be private too.
I keep telling myself our bodies are working hard so burning the calories we're putting in 🤣
Oooh yes carbs! I never used to have bread well rarely cus I was doing slimming world but now can't get enough! Got pasta for tea tonight 😋😋😋
Let us know how you go on Sun🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻hopefully it'll put your mind at ease ready for your hols 😊 @Mummy2be20

Anyone got snow? Nothing here but family elsewhere in the country have. Another things to worry about... falling over if it comes our way 🙈

Mummy2be20 · 28/01/2020 15:53

@squirrelnutkins1 haha I do the same!! I'm sure there must be some truth in it!!
Neither, I lost 2stone before finding out 🤦🏽‍♀️ I had a sandwich for lunch and have pasta for supper too!!
I shall do, thank you. We have no snow but our holiday is to Norway so may do there.

WeeScottishWife · 28/01/2020 17:14

I am so achey today! Lower abdomen (kind of right above where my pubic hair starts Blush), both sides. Is anyone else experiencing this? I'm not getting any spotting, and it's not nearly so bad when I'm sat down/still, but walking around is just horrid :( I don't want to Google and have it tell me the world is ending, but it would be really reassuring if other people have experienced this. I'm hoping it's just things stretching a bit more.

hermionelodge · 28/01/2020 17:38

@JackGordonsMummy it was quite overwhelming telling work but all done now. Everyone seems excited for me which is nice but there was a few of the usual 'aw yeah we knew...' I expected that though haha. Yeah the bump is definitely there now. I've always carried a bit of podge around my stomach but its definitely more defined and harder. Yeah you can only get away with clothes for so long haha, luckily I had a voucher from xmas so I went in town at the weekend and bought some stretchy clothes. Not so good on your headaches.. paracetamol and plenty water seem to help me. Its rubbish we cant really take anything else. Sleep always helps but that's not always possible.

@Mummy2be20 that's exciting you have a scan booked! Good luck! Regarding pains, I had a lot on the first trimester. And still getting some strong cramps now. It's just everything growing and moving inside

@squirrelnutkins1 the anxiety is a nightmare. I have calmed down a bit now since my scan at 13 weeks but I still panic. Still always checking for blood. If my belly went showing as much I would be convinced there was nothing as I am still pretty much symptom free! Just tired... which I thought was meant to go in the second trimester... its very cold and icy with us but no snow yet. It is worrying when your feet slip under you. I fell around Christmas time. I ended on my bum quite hard, luckily everything was ok but was still scary! Even more so now the baby is moving up!

@WeeScottishWife I didn't have that pain specifically but had lots of pulling/stabby/crampy pains all over.. I would just say it's all part and parcel of the uterus growing so try not to panic too much. I know what like though, I exhausted Google and it done me no favours! Just made my anxiety worse.

Mummy2be20 · 28/01/2020 20:01

@WeeScottishWife I am 7 and a half weeks nearly and I have had pains on and off for weeks!! Pulling and aching left side low down like you very early and now I have aches low down all over and one sided sometimes. I also some times get period like cramps that pass after a couple minutes!!

@hermionelodge I know, it's just hard when it happens you don't think of the stretching. I think of the worst

JackGordonsMummy · 29/01/2020 21:35

Hey everyone how are we all this evening?
I actually managed the housework today by poor mum has been doing it for me when she comes to visit as I've been so nauseous but today I'm like a new woman... not gonna get too excited about it yet haha!

The pains I've had since like 8 weeks have been pretty bad on and off but baby is fine and mideifres and GPs dont seem concerned only when I had a but of brown blood so hope you guys with pains can put your mind at rest a little...

Has anyone looked into the nub theory? I posted my 14 week scan pic on a fb page for nub theories and they said girl. I really think it might be cos when the sonographer was measuring bubas thighs I swear it looked like a girl can't wait to find out next Saturday. I've ordered the ball0on to let my DS pop to suprise us. Just to pop in with the paperwork for them to fill it with pink or blue confetti. So excited for it to be a surprise but also dying to just ask her when I'm there arggg!!!

Btw anyone on their 2nd 3rd etc... pregnancy and at 15 weeks? I swear I've felt movement tonight more than once...

I'm glad you're feeling like a new woman! That's great! Glad your mums been supportive 😊 Glad the pains are nothing to worry about 👍🏻 I posted mine on here but only got one reply 🙈 I can't even see a nub so was looking at skull theory as well. I'm pretty convinced it's a boy. Will know a fortnight today. Eek! Sounds cute with the balloon 😊😊😊

Mummy2be20 · 30/01/2020 08:56

@JackGordonsMummy that's great!! I feel you may have sent me your nausea!! I had a friend over for supper last night and made a curry etc.. I could NOT stomach it!! First time I've ever felt like that later on in the day. Was awful!!

My pains are slowly subsiding 🤞🏼 I cant wait to have my early scan on Sunday so I can start feeling a little more relaxed about it!!

JackGordonsMummy · 30/01/2020 09:01

@squirrelnutkins1 did you get many replies I might do the same I'm so impatient and want to know so bad haha!

@Mummy2be20 oh no way that sounds awful. I get that way with certain foods can't even mention their name without boaking!
Yayyy not long at all till Sunday can't wait to hear how it goes. X
