Hey ladies!

I'm 5 weeks 3 days and the morning sickness has already kicked in! I feel sick all day & can manage tiny bits of food at a time.i don't fancy anything and just feel horrible!

I'm cramping on and off too which also isn't pleasant! Anyone else in their first trimester and feeling grim? X

Hi, I'm 15+4 so not long past first trimester but wanted to reassure you that I had nausea, hip pain, cramping and heartburn from 5 weeks and everything is now settling down and going well. Still have the hip pain but it's an old injury being aggravated. Good luck with your pregnancy!

Emmaaa1990 · 08/09/2019 21:46

@Dweebette ahhh that does make me feel better! I constantly feel like I'm hungover at the moment that's the best way to describe it!

Do you have many symptoms now your past the first trimester?

Thankyou & lots of luck with yours 😊

Can I join? I was quite lucky and had very few symptoms up until this week, but have been feeling absolutely awful all weekend. Currently sitting up in bed munching dry crackers and trying to get rid of the nausea. I can't say I was prepared for the sickness at night Confused

mustardpumpkin · 09/09/2019 01:19

Should mention, I'm 7 weeks today.

Dweebette · 09/09/2019 06:29

@Emmaaa1990 still have crippling exhaustion and getting a few tugs where ligaments are stretching but overall feel much better. A constant hangover is exactly how I described it to DH! It was tough but remember that nausea is a good sign as it's indicative of high hormone levels

Eventrider1 · 09/09/2019 07:26

I am 12 weeks on Wednesday and have felt sick everyday since week 5. Lost over a stone and ended up in hospital on a drip it got so bad. I am pleased to report that the last week or so I have been able to eat more than a mouthful of food and touch wood, yesterday and this morning I have felt almost back to normal!

Emmaaa1990 · 09/09/2019 07:37

@mustardpumpkin of course! Oh you poor thing up so early this morning! It's relentless isn't it! I had broken sleep last night kept waking up with cramps & now I'm awake I feel sick again, not sure how I'm going to get through work 🤢

Are you finding the crackers to help?
I've got fruit and some rice crackers today to try and help at work 🙈 just gotta keep in mind it's all for our baby but it's so hard when you feel rubbish 🙈

@Dweebette ohh so hopefully in a few weeks things will calm down! Yeah that is true it's all moving in the right direction I guess 😂🙈

@Eventrider1 oh my god that's terrible you poor thing! I'm glad everything is starting to feel better for you! Seems like week 5 is the demon! I didn't think it could start so early but it seems it can!

OP posts:
mustardpumpkin · 09/09/2019 09:23

@Emmaaa1990 The crackers help a tiny bit - I think that's what's stopping me from actually being sick, but not a whole lot. I'm off work today as I got basically no sleep last night and couldn't even talk to DH this morning because I felt so awful. I feel really guilty missing work and they don't know yet so probably going to end up telling them early, but not sure what else to do at this point.

Hope work goes ok for you today. As you say it should all be worth it in the end!

flossy12 · 09/09/2019 09:53

Week 4+5 for me so super early on only found out Saturday 😆

Super tired and hungry lately and got cold like symptoms (scratchy throat ect) hope it isn't early signs of sickness 😩

Emmaaa1990 · 09/09/2019 10:31

@mustardpumpkin I'm hoping I can keep it at bay I've had some grapes this morning and don't feel too bad so far just crampy pains at the moment.

Oh no get lots of rest! Hope you feel better later on! Thankyou just sitting here at the moment luckily I don't have a physical job!

@flossy12 that's how I started out really hungry and I had a sore throat so random! Hopefully you don't get it too bad I think most people get sick tho don't they 😥 I think that's the worse symptom! And it's so had to hide from people

flossy12 · 09/09/2019 10:32

@Emmaaa1990 I don't mind if I do as we want this little peanut more than anything 💞but I will literally cry all the time I hate being sick 😅😅

mustardpumpkin · 09/09/2019 10:37

@flossy12 I had a long cry yesterday about it but am desperate for this baby so felt a bit guilty.

I don't think it helps having to keep it under wraps either as it would be much less stressful if people just knew, but I know why people keep it quiet. Tricky one!

Pastnowfuture · 09/09/2019 10:53

@Emmaaa1990 I am at exactly the same point as you 5wks 4days today and feeling horrific. I am working from home today as I have the flexibility to do so once a week. Not sure how I will manage rest of the week. Just the thought of food makes me feel sick but I have managed to nibble away at a slice of toast. This weekend I am travelling to greece. If it was just a holiday I would honestly cancel but its for my older brothers wedding!!!

flossy12 · 09/09/2019 11:07

@mustardpumpkin yeah have a cry it's fine! Hormones and all that 😉 only 3 people know and one of them was due to me not being able to drink on the weekend but she knew we were trying anyway x

Just been on the phone for half an hour trying to get through to GP and Midwife 😅😅

Emmaaa1990 · 09/09/2019 11:20

@flossy12 I know me too cannot wait to be a mummy so I have felt abit like stop moaning!

We will get through it together that's what Mumsnet is for ay! 😊

@Pastnowfuture ahh that's nice so we should be due same time 7th May? Oh that's handy to do that once a week! My work isn't flexible which sucks. Oh no! Hopefully you don't feel too bad, the distraction may help!

@flossy12 yeah only my immediate family know so it's hard isn't it, not having the support as such, can't wait to be able to tell everyone! X

secretllama · 09/09/2019 11:28

@flossy12 ahhh just reading this post and I am so happy to see you got your bfp, as i remember you were in the tww thread with me ! 🥰 ❤ I'm now 8 weeks tomorrow and feeling dreadful 😂

I've been nauseous for two weeks straight, today is the first day I've actually been sick though! I now also dislike tea and no food sounds appealing Confused

flossy12 · 09/09/2019 12:29

@Emmaaa1990 yeah of course!! 😁😁 so glad I can speak to all you lovely ladies as none of my close friends have children, I know people who have kids but like you say they don't know yet so can't ask all these questions 😂😅

Think we are going to tell immediate family around mid October as I'll be around 10 weeks and due for a family holiday so will have to explain the slight bump and not drinking 😅

@secretllama aww hey! 😁 yeah only just 4+4 now so early days but soooo excited! I haven't had any sickness or anything just tired and hungry, tummy is always rumbling 😅 going to be the size of a house!

Normally have around 5/6 cups of tea or coffee a day and only managing 2 lately just prefer water or dilute 🤷🏼‍♀️

flossy12 · 09/09/2019 12:30

@secretllama it's also very early days but I'm into anything that is strong tasting like raw onion, pickles, strong smelling fish etc 😅

mustardpumpkin · 09/09/2019 17:44

I went out and bought some sea sickness bands this afternoon and have managed to have some food and feel a bit more human again after wearing them for a couple of hours. I'm really hoping that they'll keep helping so can recommend you try them if nothing else is working for you!

Emmaaa1990 · 09/09/2019 18:25

@flossy12 I know so nice to speak with you all knowing we are all going through the same thing 😊 I find it comforting!

@mustardpumpkin Oh that sounds good where did you get those?

OP posts:
abbs1 · 09/09/2019 18:40

@Eventrider1 this certainly gives me hope that your sickness is settling. Ive been home in bed since week 5 and will be 11 weeks on Thursday. I've got hyperemesis and been in hospital 5 times now on drips, medications injections everything and now fighting infection as well. It's been a nightmare to say the least and i cannot wait for it to end. I am totally drained and lost so much weight. I really wouldn't wish this on anyone it's so horrible.

Thumper13 · 09/09/2019 18:48

I found out Saturday I was pregnant, unexpected but pleased! I'm due 13th may going by last period, so almost 5 weeks and feel sick as a dog! :(

ShirleyPhallus · 09/09/2019 18:51

Oh OP, I absolutely feel you. I’m on week 13 and still feeling pretty crap. I agree with the PP who said they just feel hungover - that’s exactly how I’ve felt, very headachy and sick

The only good thing is that I can confirm that the tiredness does go away (or it did for me), about week 9. I also found once I’d had my first scan it massively helped cos then I knew there was actually a baby it became much easier to deal with
