@stormtrooperjulian - it’s interesting what shops sell isn’t it, including sleepy heads and cot bumpers - even though they know they aren’t recommended!

@ELW85 - how are you doing? I still get nauusa now but it is easing, I hope yours is easing too!

@BostonFern - I hope with some rest your start to feel better soon, and able to go back to work before your mat leave, fingers crossed!

@Purplefig - yes and me - I hate when it looks messy! Last few charges have had that bed and it’s a right pain to change - it works out quite expensive as well as you need the cot sheets from there which are £27 for one!
Bump is looking adorable!

@MrsEG - going to be hard if one wants to be with the other baby and that one wants it’s own space!

Supposed to be shopping for my husband but ended up buying a few cute babygrows - finding it hard to find gender neutral and when you look online most of the clothing are separated into “Boys” and “Girls” 🙄 I have found plain white baby grows - in the girls section?! Why?!

Have a lovely evening all

LokiCat · 18/09/2019 18:29

@MrsEG yess, I'm two episodes in and that's exactly what I was thinking whilst watching it. Scary how different they both got treated, even at the hospitals. It was a difficult task trying not to cry whilst watching it, quite a difficult series but I'm loving it.
awww that's nice that they were all so interested, it must have been a lovely feeling talking about it all although I do see what you mean about feeling 'zoo like'. I imagine it could get a little tiring after a while!

@PippaPug it's about a British soldier that gets accused of a crime and CCTV plays a huge role as evidence, however it slowly uncovers how misleading CCTV can be. There's quite a few twists to it already - I definitely recommend it! Will hopefully catch up on episode 3 tonight 😊
I'll definitely be taking all the advice you have Grin

@ELW85 thanks so much lovely 💕 ah glad the nausea is slowly getting better! Hopefully it'll be completely gone soon 😊 so glad that work and your boss have been great with you! Have you let your colleagues know as well?

@purplefig it got a little warmer by home time, but definitely glad I had a jumper on! Looks like autumn is officially showing up. A dog walk in the sunshine sounds lovely!
Your bump is so cute!

Hope you all have a lovely evening! I've just got a pasta bake out of the oven to have for dinner 😊

MrsR16 · 18/09/2019 19:49

@purplefig your bump is just adorable!! 😍

@MrsEG aw that is sweet!! It's wonderful when strangers ask about your baby/babies! Makes me smile that there's still lovely people in this world. I am always tempted to answer back "I'm not pregnant!" And see what the reaction is 😂 not been that brave yet though hehe

@stormtrooperjulian I guess it must be difficult for you now, bless ya. I can imagine some days you don't feel as though you talk about anything else!

@PippaPug I'm finding it difficult to find gender neutral stuff too... I'm being made a load of stuff by my MIL and her sister, which is awesome! But it would be nice to find some more stuff to buy for sure. When I win the lottery, I'm going to design gender neutral baby stuff and maternity wear! And bras that don't make me feel like I'm 50... seriously, I'm now a 30E and am struggling to find pretty bras! 😂

MrsH497 · 18/09/2019 21:20

@MrsR16 try bravissimo I'm a 30e or f normally and go there. They go down to a 28 back size as well and are pretty! Do nursing bras as well

Ladies do pregnancy vitamins cause you to ummm become a bit blocked up?!

MrsR16 · 18/09/2019 21:35

@MrsH497 thanks for that, lovely! I'll have a look for sure 😊

stormtrooperjulian · 18/09/2019 21:53

@purplefig I'm 39+3 now and the size of a small house - huge bump pic attached!

@MrsR16 I used to be 30e, I usually managed to find pretty bras on figleaves.com. I'm 32h now and totally given up on the idea of pretty bras, they're all hideous at this size and there's pretty much no choice. I really hope my boobs go back to their old size at some point after the pregnancy, I hate being this big!

MrsR16 · 18/09/2019 22:03

@stormtrooperjulian oh goodness, look at your gorgeous bump!! I'm sure you're looking forward to finally meeting this little one 😍 thank you for the the recommendation, I'll have a look!

LokiCat · 19/09/2019 07:19

Morning all 😊

@stormtrooperjulian your bump is so gorgeous! I can't believe you're so close to meet your baby 😍 I'm so excited for you!

Had an evening of tv on the sofa. Managed to catch up on the Capture with DH which was brilliant!

Hope you all have a lovely day! Grin

Fivebyfive2 · 19/09/2019 08:09

Morning all! We're on the way to the weekend 😀

@stormtrooperjulian, you're so close now! Loving the bump xx

Caught up on bake off, was anyone else surprised Phil went?? I know he didn't do great, but he didn't really have any massive disasters either? I really thought 2 might have gone!

The wardrobe arrived yesterday, my mum waited in for it and while she waited, basically cleaned half the house! Dh has decided we need to order an item for her to wait in for at least once a month now 😂

Anyone got weekend plans? I think it's mostly organising piles of stuff (because that Never gets old 🙄) and we're having friends round for a curry Sat night, which will be fun 🙂

BostonFern · 19/09/2019 08:41

@MrsR16 I have no idea where the time has gone, May-September seems to have flown by!

@purplefig lol, I definitely need to start snack planning!
Your bump is really cute @purplefig !

Thanks @MrsEG @stormtrooperjulian @PippaPug

@stormtrooperjulian that's a great bump! How are you feeling?

@Fivebyfive2 I was a bit surprised by the bake off outcome too. Parents are brilliant aren't they-your DHs suggestion made me laugh too!

Good news is I managed to sleep in bed for the first time in a few days last night, the reflux seems to have eased off a bit.
Not so good news, I ended up in an ambulance going to hospital yesterday with a suspected pulmonary embolism- I don't think I've ever been treated so quickly, I can't fault the hospital. I've been started on the injections that would treat a clot and have a scan on Friday to see if there is something there.
Now I really feel like I need to get a hospital bag sorted 😬 I've been looking at the 'birth bag' company and their ready made bags, they look great but I think I'd still want to add a few bits in. Has anyone else seen them, or bought one?

MrsR16 · 19/09/2019 09:03

Morning lovely ladies!

@Fivebyfive2 I was surprised he went as well! I guess the judges didn't see potential or something... I think he was more shocked than anyone! That's awesome that your mum cleaned the house 😂 I can't wait till I have time to clean the house properly before baby arrives (channeling my inner Mrs Hinch). I'm spending time with my parents on Saturday, as DH has to go to London for our volunteering thingy. Then Sunday hopefully we're watching Downton with friends!

@BostonFern those bags look great! I'd never heard of them till you mentioned it, so been having a quick look! Great to see that you slept ok in your bed 😊

I managed to wake up at 1am this morning with horrendous cramp in my foot... it was so painful! DH tried to help bless him, but I ended up having to get up and walk around 😂

MrsH497 · 19/09/2019 09:13

Omg @BostonFern hope you're ok!! Sounds scary

Beautiful bump @stormtrooperjulian absolutely gorgeous!

Another beautiful sunny autumn day here and another day at the golf!

PippaPug · 19/09/2019 09:21

@LokiCat - that sounds really good! It’s been ages since I have watched something and really enjoyed, so will try that over the weekend, thank you!

@MrsR16 - M and S have some lovely gender neutral things, but more in store I think (depending how big the store is) and the little white company but that’s quite expensive. I’m just sick of going online and it’s either girls or boys - surely lots of people don’t find out the gender till the baby is here?!
Try bravissimo or fig leaves (believe that’s a bit cheaper) I got a couple of wire free bras a few weeks ago but luckily my boobs haven’t grown that much - they were already a Jcup before pregnancy!

@stormtrooperjulian - what a amazing bump! How wonderful you look!

@BostonFern - I’m sorry your still not well and was rushed to hospital but really pleased they were on the ball for you. Is your appointment in the morning tomorrow? Fingers crossed there is nothing there.

Has anyone found a decent list for a hospital bag? I’m ok (roughly) for the babies, but it’s me that I don’t know what I will need (minus clothes!)

Also has anyone found they can’t swallow tablets? A few weeks ago I had a cod liver oil tablet and i didn’t even manage to swallow it, spat it out but was very sick straight afterwards and its seemed to trigger the fact I can’t swallow tablets unless they are very very small....if I need paracetamol I have calpol 6+ 🙈 but the midwife has suggested to take pregnacare again....tries it this morning and the same thing happened again 🙈 is anyone taking very small pregnancy tablets that could help?

purplefig · 19/09/2019 09:40

@MrsR16 if you like a nearly new sale, I spotted plenty of gender neutral bits at the one we went to. We got an ADORABLE gender neutral m&s snowsuit for £5 (they retail for £25...good grief I love a bargain).

@stormtrooperjulian gorgeous bump - you look incredible! How're you feeling? Do you have an idea of birth preferences?

@BostonFern oh my gosh how scary for you. How're you doing now lovely? I hope you can get some rest. thank you! Yes I'm very excited for snack planning. Definitely bringing some lucozade. And I've heard a water bottle with built in straw is useful.

@LokiCat thank you! Ooo you can't beat a midweek pasta bake 🙌🏻

@PippaPug here's my list so far, gleaned and cobbled together from various internet lists and no doubt not finished yet. Probably worth noting this is packed with a water birth at a birth centre in mind (and obviously that is subject to change!):

• Shower gel
• Cleanser + moisturiser
• Postpartum pads
• Breastpads
• Basic make-up: concealer, mascara, blush - potentially controversial and may well go unused, but loads of blog posts I read said they were surprised at how much they craved a bit of mascara after a good shower and wash🤣

Have a fab Thursday everyone! X

PippaPug · 19/09/2019 10:08

Thank you @purplefig, that’s a great list! I did skim read at first and saw bikini top and was a bit confused till I saw you saying you are planning a water birth! (Very jealous as that’s what I wanted!)

One thing for babies which tends to get forgotten are baby nail scissors! Sounds silly but their nails can be quite long and if your in for a few days they may need cutting....I know some parents prefer to bite them but I’m not sure if I will be able to do that or not so have got them on the babies list!

The babies list is so much easier then my own!

MrsH497 · 19/09/2019 10:14

@PippaPug I can't swallow tablets normally so even worse at the moment!! Pregnacare do a gummy vitamin (vegan friendly as well) it's ok better than swallowing tablets I find

BostonFern · 19/09/2019 10:15

@MrsR16 yes, I thought it looked like those bags might help reduce a bit of the 'what to pack' stress.
Oh no! Foot cramp is horrible!

Thanks @MrsH497 @PippaPug @purplefig I'm just taking it extra easy today. @PippaPug not sure what time the scan is, they're going to ring me and let me know. @purplefig I'm in that weird mindset where I'm worried it could actually be a PE and the problems that can cause during pregnancy, half thinking it's unlikely and worried people will think I'm wasting their time, and then of course the worry/guilt about having a scan whilst pregnant! I have to say I'm glad I've done the positive birth company's digital pack, as I've used the BRAIN method to think about the scan and it's made me feel more reassured, and consider that the potential risks from the scan are outweighed by the risks of an undiagnosed and improperly treated PE or improper/unnecessary use of Clexane as labour gets closer. Nobody warns you that 'mummy guilt' begins the moment you get pregnant!

@PippaPug I've found swallowing tablets much harder whilst being pregnant, infact I've found I feel like I need to drink a lot more with meals too as it feels like swallowing food has just been more challenging in general!

@MrsH497 Enjoy the golf!

@purplefig I've got a sistema bottle with a straw from amazon for £5, it's top rack dishwasher safe and can be sterilised using Milton tablets because it's plastic. The straw is already helpful at night in bed now bump is getting bigger 😂

BabySquid · 19/09/2019 10:17

@Fivebyfive2 I was shocked Phil went... I think he was too... I was expecting Michael to go, he completely messed up!
We're off round to friends tomorrow for a pizza and a catch up/photos from their honeymoon, Saturday got DH sorting his half of the spare room so things can get sorted in there ready for clearing the furniture out. Then I need to go shopping Sunday for more tops!

@BostonFern oh my goodness, that sounds awful, are you ok now??

@PippaPug my midwife gave me three bottle of folic acid and vit d... said as they're recommended throughout now, they just hand them out at booking apt! they're dodo and really easy to take

@purplefig man that list is amazing!! *shamelessly copies into notes!!!

ITS SCAN DAY and I couldn't be more excited to see the little one again. Still gotta wait all day though as it's 6:15 tonight!

BostonFern · 19/09/2019 10:23

@BabySquid not long to go now, hope the day goes quickly for you so you get to see baby before you know it!
I'm still short of breath, and my left shoulder is painful, but baby is wiggling away quite happily and that's the important thing.

ELW85 · 19/09/2019 11:03

Morning all!

@purplefig - such a cute bump!! And that list is so helpful 😊

@stormtrooperjulian - fantastic bump and it must be so exciting that it’s nearly time to meet baby!

@BostonFern - your hospital trip sounds really traumatic, I hope you’re ok?

@PippaPug - I’m not too bad thank you! I was absolutely wiped out yesterday and needed to go to bed at 8pm but I think I’m fighting off another cold. Stupid offices passing germs around!

@LokiCat - I’m pleased you’re doing well 💕 not long until the scan now! Wasn’t The Capture brilliant?

@BabySquid - happy scan day!

I genuinely thought I had more energy (definitely less nausea but it comes and goes) but I’m wiped out with a banging head. I hope this isn’t cold #2 on the way!

thumper59 · 19/09/2019 11:37

Morning all, hope your well!

Work is as manic as ever this week! I went to watch hustlers last night- I loved it! J-lo Pole dancing did nothing for my body confidence though 🙄😂

@stormtrooperjulian your bump is beautiful! Your so close now.

@Fivebyfive2 I too was shocked at bake off! Expected priya to leave

@BostonFern how scary! Hope your feeling a bit better today.

@MrsR16 I get loads of cramp in my feet and legs now! I never have before, it's weird!
I too can't wait to get on maternity and hinch our house. I plan on painting the whole downstairs too but we'll see 😂

@PippaPug I've never been able to swallow tablets I take pregnacare liquid. It's absolutely rank- but does the job! Babies bag is all packed but I haven't even started mine! Need to go to town so I can get some nighties etc but just haven't had the time yet. My next free weekend is the first one in October so hopefully I'll get it all sorted then

@BabySquid aww happy scan day!! Enjoy it xx

BostonFern · 19/09/2019 11:38

@ELW85 I think poor DP was more traumatised than me, he's not good with hospitals- luckily for him I've had to do my own Clexane injections before, so at least he hasn't got to worry about giving me the injections.

BostonFern · 19/09/2019 11:41

@thumper59 thank you and I hope work calms down for you soon!

@ELW85 I meant to say I hope your headache doesn't turn into a cold.

stormtrooperjulian · 19/09/2019 11:41

@BostonFern @purplefig I'm feeling good thanks! Today is my last day at work.
I'm hoping for a water birth at the MLU, trying not to get too attached to the idea though as I know birth doesn't always go to plan.

@BostonFern oh wow that sounds so scary! How are you feeling today?

@PippaPug adding a couple of things to that list... eye mask and earplugs
I've heard that if you have to stay over for induction or anything it can be really hard to sleep as it's so noisy all the time.

BostonFern · 19/09/2019 11:49

@stormtrooperjulian I'm glad your feeling good, really hope you get the water birth you want. I think they sound so calm.
Yesterday was quite scary, but I think because everyone from the paramedics to the health care assistants were so kind, calm and efficient it made it less scary than it could have been. I'm just taking it really easy today, I've moved from bed to sofa and that's it.
