@MrsEG that is crazy!! You should be able to request pretty much whatever you want and it not be a problem!!

@MrsH497 I am so excited to see you here!! Massive congratulations to you!! Xx

MrsH497 · 11/09/2019 18:40

Thank you @MrsR16 I admit I've been reading along as I missed you all! I tested yesterday and the faintest line, did the cheapie when I got home tonight not expecting anything little line came up straight away thought what the hell let's try the digital and was so shocked!!

Just hoping this one sticks xx

MrsR16 · 11/09/2019 19:07

@MrsH497 I have got everything crossed for you! 😊 xx

ELW85 · 11/09/2019 20:26

@MrsEG - just had a pizza watching GBBO. Necessary!!

@MrsH497 - welcome and congratulations again 😊 so happy for you and keeping everything crossed for you x

purplefig · 11/09/2019 20:26

@MrsH497 ahhh congratulations that's amazing news!! Got everything crossed for you. I used to read this thread while on the TTC thread too ❤️

@MrsR16 I'm blaming a combination of no coffee, a failing iPhone and....all my brain power going towards growing a baby?!?!? 🤣

@MrsEG oh I'm sorry to hear that, I really hate colds - they make you feel like absolute 💩 but they don't feel like they warrant any fuss somehow?! Really not helped when all you can do is "pop a paracetamol and keep fluids up" 🙄. I've made an effort to eat 'properly' the last two days and low and behold I'm headache free. Feel a bit dim!!! Weird situation at work indeed - it's not like you're no longer capable of being a line manager?! Did they go into any reasoning with you? At least Christmas isn't too far off, but still, you don't want to be bored and under utilised at work until then.

@ELW85 I know exactly what you mean by a very pregnant day 🤣. I don't actually have any aversions anymore (🙌🏻), just no appetite - forcing enough food down though and think it's coming back! Enjoy GBBO lovely.

Have a lovely everyone x

MrsEG · 11/09/2019 20:28

@MrsH497 Congratulations lovely! Great news :)

@MrsR16 I know, she didn’t actually even know what a lumbar support was 🤷‍♀️ what can you do!! How is bump feeling this evening?

Had a fab yoga class this evening, the teacher is so lovely! Then came home and DH had made me a huge chilli. Glorious! Good evenings to all x

MrsEG · 11/09/2019 20:30

Mega cross posting!!

@purplefig They said it was because I am at a higher risk of going off early or unexpectedly which I guess makes sense, and it’s easier for my reports to have some consistency with their manager especially with all my additional appts. I do get their reasoning but without doing their end of year reviews and objectives I’ll have a very quiet December!! Ahh I’m so glad the headaches are easing off!

@ELW85 I had pizza watching it too!! Totally necessary!!

LokiCat · 11/09/2019 20:37

Hi all! I haven't been posting on here much this week, wanted to take a little break (although that didn't stop me from lurking to see how you were all getting on! 😂).
I've been feeling a little sorry for myself and so would always come home and just curl up on the sofa or in bed because I always felt so so tired and the nausea was just horrendous (even threw up for the first time yesterday). I'm also just feeling so bloated, spotty and nothing seems to fit me anymore so I was in a little funk last few days. I had a little cry to DH about everything yesterday then cuddles and some reassuring words have made me feel a lot better about everything now.

Sorry that I haven't been able to catch up and respond to you all (this thread moves so fast!!) but it does look like you're getting on really well, so happy to see that ❤️

@MrsH497 so so happy to see you on here with your bfp, congratulations!! I have everything crossed for you 🤞🏽❤️ xx

MrsR16 · 11/09/2019 20:39

@purplefig I blame baby brain for absolutely everything at the moment! And will continue to do so for as long as feasibly possible 😂

@MrsEG just incredible! 🤦‍♀️ Bump is feeling much better! I also wonder if it's having a growth spurt at the moment... hope yoga went well! I need to get doing something like that!

@LokiCat I've had a few meltdowns... don't feel too bad about them! DHs are superb at helping out 😊 hormones need an outlet at some point!

MrsH497 · 11/09/2019 20:45

Thank you ladies ❤️ wasn't entirely sure when AF was due which didn't help. Not feeling too bad just the most horrid taste in my mouth and tiredness.
Reckon I'm 4 weeks
Xx

purplefig · 11/09/2019 22:03

@LokiCat if it's any consolation, and I'm remembering correctly, a lot of us on here felt like that on and off through the first trimester. Even though mine wasn't bad in the sense I wasn't vomiting, I remember feeling so off, mildly hungover all the time, exhausted, bloated and unattractive and all the while you're supposed to keep it to yourself until 12 weeks! It's tough going - I leant on DH a lot and that helped. Big hugs. I bet you'll feel brighter again soon.

@MrsR16 haha why not!

@MrsEG makes sense but sooo frustrating for you. Is there another less urgent project you could take over so you've got stuff to do? Sorry - I'm micromanaging!!

LokiCat · 12/09/2019 07:19

Morning all :) 8 weeks today! Can't believe it. Another 4 and a bit weeks till my 12 weeks (not that I'm counting Grin).

@MrsR16 I think that's what it was. I was bottling it all up so much and felt worse. When I let it out with DH, it felt like a weight was lifted!
How have you been doing? Sorry to hear you were having some pain in your bump, but glad all is okay and better now.

@purplefig thanks lovely! it does feel better knowing that I wasn't the only one that felt like that. A part of me felt guilty that I've wanted to be pregnant for so long and that I should be appreciating it all, but realised I was just being stupid. I'm allowed to feel both!
How are you doing? Have your headaches got any better?

So glad it's Thursday. This week has flown by! Almost the weekend soon Grin Anyone have any plans?
Have a great day all xxx

Fivebyfive2 · 12/09/2019 08:16

Hi all, sorry I've not been on as much, but I have been reading through!

Picked up my mat b 1 form yesterday for work and a bedside crib from my friends mums house 🙂 Also, the wardrobe from ebay didn't work out but went to IKEA last night and got a really nice one, plus a hot air balloon lightshade!

@mrsh497, congratulations on your bfp!! So happy for you 🙂🎉

@MrsEG, how are you feeling? Xx

We're almost at the weekend ladies!! Anyone got any plans? Xxx

OP posts:
purplefig · 12/09/2019 08:34

@LokiCat ahhh yes the guilt!!! Like you say though, two things can be true at once. You can be grateful to be pregnant while simultaneously not thrilled about the spots/bloat/food aversions/nausea etc. My headaches are better thanks, realised I wasn't eating enough. Doh!

@Fivebyfive2 that sounds like a productive day and the light shade sounds adorable! Any nice weekend plans?

We haven't got much planned ATM this weekend - it's supposed to be hot down here (v grey and autumnal today though) so if it transpires we'll do something to make the most if it. Have a great Thursday everyone!

MrsH497 · 12/09/2019 08:51

Morning ladies. Still can't quite believe this is happening! No plans for the weekend DH is working so I plan on relaxing and sleeping! X

MrsEG · 12/09/2019 09:34

@LokiCat Don’t worry lovely, the first tri is rough especially at your mark - I felt at my worst at 9 weeks for sure. Just remember your body is only feeling like that as it’s growing a whole human! I found SeaBands helped me with nausea so much, you can get them really quickly with Amazon prime :)

@purplefig Yep very frustrating! They’ve got me on a lot of new business stuff so background research and strategy and stuff. And mentoring junior staff. It’s all just a bit... boring! Although it gives me time to google prams haha! How are you feeling today, headaches staying away?

@MrsR16 I so recommend yoga, it’s all I’m doing but I love it! It’s just so pregnancy specific and I love chatting to all the other mums too. I’m like a celeb there though with twins haha! I get asked so many questions!! How is bump today?

@Fivebyfive2 Annoyingly my cold is almost gone but I am now feeling very sick again; it’s always after food and I can’t tell if perhaps it’s heartburn. I feel very reflux-y! Another one to ask the midwife about today! Glad you’ve had a productive few days!

@MrsH497 i had a weird taste in my mouth but it didn’t really come on til about 5-6 weeks, at first I felt no different and just couldn’t believe it! Citrus helped, lots of oranges and lemon water.

Got an exciting few days now!! Midwife today, scan on Saturday morning and TAMBA workshop Saturday afternoon! Baby central haha! I have the longest list of questions for the workshop, so many things keep coming to me.

I also watched that Emma Willis show last night, I never watch it and have only randomly caught two episodes and both had twins!! Last nights were a c-section at 36 weeks and so I forced myself to watch it and honestly, I feel so much calmer about a possible section now. It all looked really relaxed, loads of people keeping her company and keeping her happy, and both babies were delivered happy and healthy!! I cried (a lot!) watching it but it’s made me feel very calm and quite excited for mine!!

MrsH497 · 12/09/2019 09:50

@MrsEG thanks for the tips!! I'm probably 5 weeks Sunday by my workings out.

Anyone in Berkshire? Doing my maternity referral form and deciding between Wexham and frimley x

LokiCat · 12/09/2019 11:05

@Fivebyfive2 I love a good IKEA trip! Great that you managed to get a nice wardrobe and lampshade sounds really cute.
Me and DH are meeting up with his best friend and wife for a dinner and sharing our news with them otherwise a chill weekend probably! Have you got any plans?

@purplefig yup exactly!
Ahh well I'm glad you figured out why you were having them.
Weather has been all over the place over here as well, making it so difficult to decide what to wear in the morning!

@MrsEG thanks lovely, you are right, my body is doing something amazing! I'll have a look at the SeaBands - thanks for the tip!
Ooh you have a brilliant few days coming up! Hope all goes well at the midwife appointment today. Is the scan on Saturday to find out what you're having? I'm so excited for you!!

@MrsH497 I'm close by, but have chosen Ashford and St Peter's in Chertsey. They've been brilliant so far with everything. I got my scan and booking in appointments two days after I sent the self referral off!
Can't help with Wexham or Frimley though, sorry! X

MrsR16 · 12/09/2019 13:26

@LokiCat good for you, lovely! I'm doing alright, baby's now behaving and doing what it is supposed to 😂 my first thought was that it could be early labour, but thankfully that wasn't the case! Got a little bit more cooking to do before I'm ready for that 🤣

@Fivebyfive2 not much planned! Think DH wants to crack on with the nursery which'll be great!

@MrsEG that sounds great! Bump is doing good today 😊 I don't know how long I'll last this evening at my volunteering thing, but we'll see - my staff team are fabulous and can deal with stuff without me there!

stormtrooperjulian · 12/09/2019 14:55

@MrsH497 congratulations! So pleased to see you here!

@MrsEG I suppose that's reasonable logic for giving your people a new line manager but must be frustrating for you

@LokiCat how you're feeling at the moment is totally normal. I cried at DH several times in the first trimester cos I felt so tired all the time and he had to do everything for weeks and I felt totally useless

I have 5 working days left after today... it feels a bit surreal. I think I'm still slightly in denial about the baby coming so soon, but on the other hand I am totally sick of being so pregnant and huge now!

MrsEG · 12/09/2019 15:47

@LokiCat Hoping to find out the sex yes! Trying not to get my hopes up too much in case they can’t tell, but keeping my fingers crossed :)

@MrsR16 Sounds good! Definitely time to start letting other people do the hard work I’d say ;) Glad bump is behaving!

@stormtrooperjulian 5 days!! Amazing. Enjoy the wind down! These next few weeks will either fly or absolutely drag!!

Just had the midwife appt and we were able to hear both heartbeats 😍 It was amazing! She can tell from it that they are kinda lying side by side now, and could clearly differentiate between the two as well. She thinks the weird itch feelings I’m getting are the babies! It’s all so surreal I can’t wait to be able to really feel them kicking about in there haha!

BostonFern · 12/09/2019 15:48

@MrsR16 how are you feeling today?

@purplefig thanks! The kids are making it much easier for me though, they're really good at helping me pick up all the things I drop 😂

@MrsH497 congratulations!

@LokiCat sending you lots of hugs, feeling so rough and like you're losing your energy (and I also felt like I'd lost my personality) is really hard. Be kind to yourself, being pregnant is a lot harder than a lot of people let on!

@Fivebyfive2 Picking up the mat1b seems to make it all a bit more real, doesn't it.

@MrsEG You've got some really exiting days coming up! I haven't watched the Emma Willis programme, does it represent labour quite positively then? I'm trying to avoid anything too dramatic and stick with positive birth stories to keep my anxiety down.

@stormtrooperjulian Five days, wow! I can imagine physically you're feeling ready for mat leave now.

Had a really long day yesterday, and can not wait until the weekend! No firm plans yet, but I know we want to try to enjoy the nice weather, so might go to a nice garden or park.

ELW85 · 12/09/2019 16:36

@MrsEG - I’m so pleased the appointment went well for you! I can’t believe your scan is on Saturday! Still saying one of each 😀

@LokiCat - very much like the other ladies have mentioned, you’re going through a LOT. And you’ll be doing an amazing job!

@Fivebyfive2 - DH has a rare weekend off, so we’re going for breakfast together on Saturday and out for lunch on Sunday. Rest of the time to be spent absolutely chilling out!

@stormtrooperjulian - 5 days!! How exciting?! Are you nervous or just really looking forward to it?

Getting nervous for the scan tomorrow now!
Excited but nervous!

I hope everyone has had a lovely Thursday?

purplefig · 12/09/2019 17:40

@MrsEG urghh sorry to hear that about work, but as you say leaves you plenty of time for other "research" Grin. Amazing you got to hear both heartbeats, it's really emotional isn't it?! Glad you're feeling better about c-sections too - have you heard about gentle/natural c-sections? They were mentioned in my hypnobirthing course - some great videos on youtube. Apparently if it's a planned section you can also have lots of your preferences met too e.g. music, dimmed lights, skin-to-skin or whatever you wanted. You've got such an exciting few days coming up - pleaseeeee let us know when you know about the babies sex. I am heavily invested in finding out.

@stormtrooperjulian five working days left?! Corr that's come around quickly (or it seems like it at least). Not long to go now Grin.

@ELW85 is it your 12 week scan tomorrow? Sorry finding it hard to remember where everyone is at! What time? I was super nervous for mine even though we'd had one at 8+4. Just try and be kind to yourself in the lead-up and, if you can, focus on the excitement rather than the nerves.

What's everyone up to this evening? It's grey here again today, but as ever the dog needs walking so I think I'll drag myself down to the beach. I always feel better after I do! Then a quiet night in. Enjoy whatever you get up to x

TrashKitten10 · 12/09/2019 18:01

@thumper59 I really recommend the Positive Birth Company downloads if you're wanting to get into hypnobirthing. We looked at courses which were £200+ but, although they will never be the same as face to face, we are really happy with the digital content for £39. How are your aches and pains, you were thinking you might have PGP a few weeks ago?

@BostonFern Yes, I'm definitely counting down the days until I finish haha. Didn't realise you were a teacher too! Are you also working up until half term? The course is great isn't it, hopefully we can have lovely calm births :)

@BabySquid Urgh, your cold sounds grim 😩 so rubbish not being able to take anything as well. Your MIL sounds infuriating haha. Having one child does not make you the oracle of parenting! MIL had both her babies early and actually told me this week she was glad they were so small and hopes I don't end up with a big baby (in her opinion anything 8+ pounds 🤨). I told her I'd rather have a chunky healthy term baby than a tiny early one. Why would you want your baby to be born premature just so it's 'easier' to give birth?! Madness.

@MrsR16 Glad everything is okay, that must have been a worry. Have you been okay since?

@MrsEG I'm feeling quite good thank you. Just finished my first full week back at work and I managed better than I expected. Now just five more weeks to go! How are you? You must be getting bored to tears at work having all your responsibility taken away. And then for them to be funny about a chair support! Amazing you got to hear the heartbeats 🥰

@MrsH497 Congratulations! Lovely to see it written on the digital ☺️

@LokiCat Sorry to hear you are feeling rubbish. Don't feel guilty at all, you are at the absolute low point in my opinion. I'm now 32 weeks, bloody huge, achy, on my feet at work for 9 hours a day, another two hours of commuting on top and I'm finding life 10x easier than I was at 8 weeks. It was grim. You will start to feel so much better soon :)

@stormtrooperjulian 5 days left, that's amazing! Are you all prepared and ready?
