Good morning ladies hope your all well. I've been absent all weekend but I had a fabulous baby shower on Saturday - my mum and dad really went above and beyond it was lovely and to have all the special ladies in mine and babies life all in one room ( and the men later on!) was just lovely. I'm just at work, so I'll read through and catch up on messages as and when but just thought I'd share a few pics of what they had done! (they made the arch and bought and did up the sweet cart themselves!)

Oops just seen you can only add 3 pics, so I don't spam I've just done a little grid of some photos. Mum did an afternoon tea and it was absolutely beautiful 😊 I'm feeling so very lucky and blessed to have such wonderful people around xx

@purplefig I'll hopefully be stopping work on Friday 24th Jan thus giving me two full weeks before due date. And because I work in payroll and we're paid on the 20th I'll have time to do my month end stuff before I go🤞🏻

@thumper59 your shower is 💯 goals!!!! Looks amazing and I would have totally cried if I'd walked in to that set up!! It's BEAUTIFUL 😍 and you look amazing too, that dress 👗🥰

@PippaPug I am 32 weeks and still a bit fussy about certain food and smells. I hope it goes after pregnancy! I think it's partly due to the heartburn too though 😬

@ELW85 @MrsR16 I know, two dogs and two babies would be far too much haha - I live in my own little world at times!!

@PippaPug Oh bless you, hope work gets a little easier!! I am only working up to 18 December it seems - I get it officially signed off next month after my 20 week consultant appt but everyone seems happy with that date. Means I’m using a lot of annual leave, but it seems I’ll need it! Yes I had all the testing at my 12 week scan - I can’t remember the actual numbers but it came back low risk for both twins.

@GemmaJen Oh she is absolutely beautiful! 9lb 6 too - well done you!! Hope you’re settling in to motherhood well :)

@purplefig Nearly new sale bargains sound fabulous! I wouldn’t worry about work, I feel exactly the same. I feel now I know I’m on a 3 month countdown I just can’t be arsed even though there are several large events to deliver before then!
I’ll get a bump pic up later on, it really is mental how quickly it grows - I don’t know whether it should worry me sometimes that I’m getting very big, but a quick search on the #twinbump Instagram hashtag makes me feel better!
I’ll let you know if the over bump undies are any good as they should arrive today!

@BabySquid My cold is quite a bit worse today too - it seems to be in my throat which just makes sleep a bit difficult. Got loads of lemons today though and have been on honey and lemon this morning and it’s helping! Yay glad your bump has popped!

@cupcakesandglitter Oh sorry you’re still feeling so sick!! Hopefully it will be much better for you in the next couple of weeks :)

Hope everyone is feeling okay today! Still full of a cold and so WFH as I’m certain work is where I have picked it up. Really looking forward to our private scan now this Saturday and then the TAMBA workshop we have too!

Also ladies, I think I might have felt some flutters just now?? Does it kinda feel like an itch but from the inside??

@MrsEG oooo internals itches sound promising! It seems to vary so much from person to person, so could definitely be movement. I keep getting this weird sensation - sort of like a nervy needing the loo feeling, but I don't 😳 midwife did say it could feel like wind. If this is it, it's nowhere near as sweet as I thought it'd be 🤣. Ooo I'm so excited for your scan too!! And please do let me know if knickers are any good.

@thumper59 @MrsEG @cupcakesandglitter glad it's not just me that's lost my oomph for work. I really ought to stay til at least mid Jan so better try and get some back!!

@cupcakesandglitter sorry to hear you're still not feeling great... my poor sister is still suffering and she had her 20 week scan this morning! I hope yours clears up soon though - it can't be easy.

@MrsEG it could be movement! That's exciting!! I had a proper pain low on my left side and it started from there and hasn't stopped since! 😍

@purplefig It seems it really does feel different for everyone - or maybe we’re all just describing it in our own personal ways haha! I’ve noticed it three times today but at the same time wonder if it’s genuinely just an itch!? Who knows! Here is a bump pic from today by the way - ludicrously huge at 16+1. I am actually so shocked by my growth I’m quitting sweets and chocolate, scaring myself by googling gestational diabetes!!

@MrsR16 Ahh I hope it is! I have my midwife appt on Thursday so might ask her if she thinks it is them or not! Hope you’re doing good!

@PippaPug - ah I’m so pleased you got home to DH, and broke up the time apart. It’s a long time particularly at the moment!

@thumper59 - what a wonderful shower!! I’m still debating whether I want one or not. I’m sure I will though!

@MrsEG - gorgeous bump! How’s the cold coming on? I’ve had a headache for 2 days now. It’s awful!

@purplefig - someone in our HR department mentioned natal hypnotherapy today and she couldn’t recommended it highly enough either so I’m going to browse downloads tonight!

All things being well I’m about 11+6 today 😊 can’t wait to see the little one again to make it all feel real.
Slightly freaking out at the NT stuff as I’m 34 but staying positive and keeping everything crossed we’ll be fine!

@ELW85 I’m 34 and both of mine were fine and low risk! Honestly I don’t think the age thing is anywhere near as scary as it’s made out at times. You’d think women hit 35 and all their eggs spontaneously combust! Enjoy the scan it’s such a wonderful experience :) Cold is pants, I popped to the pharmacy at lunch and they wouldn’t even prescribe a vapo-rub!! She said all I can have is a sugar lozenge, nothing at all with menthol or a decongestant. And then just looked at me and said ‘Honestly, you’re best off just drinking honey and lemon and resting until it’s gone!’

@MrsEG - thank you for that! I needed some positive outcomes on the NT front. Hopefully everything is super low risk and I don’t even have to think about it anymore!

It’s rubbish not being able to take anything for a cold. Feel like such a drama queen but it’s really wiped me out!

@ELW85 I know I've harped on about it, but for the cost I've got so much out of The positive birth company download.

Having a rubbishy one here. Got another headache and it makes focusing on work really tricky, particularly annoying when you're self-employed and don't get paid for unproductive days.

Like a lot of you I'm looking forward to maternity leave already- I've got 33 working days left and I'm already wondering how I'm going to manage those!

Thanks ladies. I feel so big for 4 months pregnant, can’t believe I only have two little Belgian waffles inside there (the size my app gave this week haha!). Hopefully the midwife on Thursday will tell me it’s all normal!

@ELW85 I’m sure it’ll all be fine. I actually wasn’t nervous in the run up or even the scan but started getting a bit jittery waiting for the results to arrive. But they were a-ok :)
I know, riding out a cold is hard work! Makes you appreciate those decongestants all the more!!

@purplefig Oh you’re really suffering with those headaches. Is it worth talking to your GP or midwife, especially is the usual advice of water and rest isn’t working?

@BostonFern 33 days! That will absolutely fly for you! I bet you cannot wait now. Baby countdown!

@ELW85 - I’m sorry if I have worried you, wasn’t my intention at all, I was concerned as although both babies are low risk - one is higher then the other - if I didn’t have two I wouldn’t have anything to compare it too!

I spoke to the midwife - and after crying down the phone she explained why the results are different but both totally In The normal ranges and she also said that twin 2 is down on the notes as harder to measure too as where he/she was laying at the time.

@MrsEG really can't wait, partly because I'm getting uncomfortable now, and partly because I just want to get all 'settled' before baby gets here and not have to focus on anything other than enjoying the last bit of baby free time with DP and getting prepared for the birth and baby's arrival.
I hope your midwife reassures you at your appointment, I can't imagine how hard it is growing two babies either!

@MrsEG I'm doing alright thanks lovely 😊 going to a formal do in a few weeks, so bought a dress off Amazon and it actually looks ok! I was shocked 😂. Your bump is beautiful!

@MrsEG - I feel like I’ve finally turned a corner with my cold; feeling semi-human again! Fingers crossed yours sods off soon 😊

@PippaPug - you haven’t worried me at all, it was already on my mind! I’m pleased your midwife gave you some reassurance.

@MrsEG I did bring it up with my midwife at our last appointment and she said unfortunately it's very common and to take paracetamol as and when needed. Even that isn't budging it sometimes though! Love that they're the size of Belgian waffles - what app is that?! Ovia and What to Expect are just boring fruit and veg! How's the cold today?

@ELW85 glad you're on the mend - I find colds really wipe me out at the best of times, never mind when pregnant and unable to take the usual stuff!

@BostonFern ahh that sounds fab! How many weeks will you be when you go off on mat leave?

@MrsR16, @BabySquid Thank you, she is such a good little chunk, just had her day 4 weigh in and still 8lb9oz 😊 luckily she does fit on the newborn clothes that we have - though we didn't but many luckily!

@purplefig I'm doing ok, bit of a tough delivery as she wasn't making progress after pushing, so had a section. Not unhappy with the outcome as she's here safely, turns out she was looking up so making life a little difficult. So a bit different than expected, but stealing all the newborn cuddles I can while DH does the heavy lifting, so its not too bad 🥰

@cupcakesandglitter were thinking Rosa Lyra, but Rosa being short for Rosaline or Rosalind - still got to narrow it down 🙈 feels very difficult!

@MrsR16 Dresses are hard aren’t they?! I bought one from New Look that I thought would be formal and smart and on me it just looks like I’ve thrown an old curtain over myself!! Enjoy your do!

@ELW85 Oh yay great news! I actually feel a bit worse as I had a nosebleed again this morning but I think just from blowing my nose so much! I’m coughing less though so fingers crossed it’s shifting!

@purplefig I use Pregnancy + it’s the only app I like! You can view as sweets, animals or fruit haha, I look forward to it each week so much! You also get this really cool 3D view of baby each week that moves around and will react to you touching the phone screen!
So annoying isn’t it, I feel that’s the general advice for everything - just have a paracetamol and power through!!
