Morning all! How's everyone doing? Any nice weekend plans? The weather is cold down here today too, and I for one don't care: I finally get to crack out my maternity coat!!! Barely have a bump still, but will that stop me? Oh no.
@Bettythecat ooo that dinner sounds delicious - did you have a nice evening? A huge part of hypnobirth practice is learning to relax - if it's something you're interested in, it might really help with your pregnancy anxieties?
@Fivebyfive2 Enjoy your new purchases - maternity dungarees have been one of my best life choices to date.
@BostonFern sorry you're feeling a bit disheartened with that recent news, totally understandable. Great news you've got a baby-safe remedy for your heartburn though - is gaviscon not OK to use?
@LokiCat Ooo 23 weeks will be a lovely time - you'll have a proper bump, but still be in the 'best' second trimester!
. Re: your DH's skepticism, that's really common and I think it's often to do with the word 'hypnobirthing', which sounds very airy fairy. The course has a section really early on about the science of birth and how hypnobirthing can tangibly help with the process and to be honest (perhaps I am just naive about birth!) it totally blew my mind and made so much logical sense. DH is fully on board and said he's actually looking forward to birth now he knows what his role will be in it.
@MrsEG the reaction is already starting to go down and think by about a week it should be basically gone - but it's good you know what to expect, I was pretty alarmed until I googled it (which I am trying to avoid doing). Great idea to practice stationing now, what a useful took to have in your kit once the twins are here. Ours knows how to 'stay' but unfortunately, his bed is...the sofa. I feel we've made a rod for our own backs there!! Enjoy your chocolate - hope it gets you through the hectic day and into the weekend as effectively as possible
@ELW85 honestly, you are doing AMAZING to even get to the gym! If you feel totally wiped, please don't feel bad about taking a day to just rest though. Your body is building the beginnings of a human being and that is a hugeeeee undertaking. I don't mean any of that to sound patronising, but I just think so often the message is: keep going, don't 'give in', and sometimes rest is just as important. Also cannot believe you've developed a cake aversion...are you having the healthiest first trimester on record?!?!!?
