@LokiCat I know... I got told off by my mum and sister for doing too much! I didn't tell them about the cleaning as well - they'd have turned up and forced me to sit down! 😂😂 we're going grey with a Dumbo theme in the nursery - it's easy to add pink or blue in once Peanut's here! Xx

@Tropicana1 oh that's so exciting!! Congratulations on your little girl! I feel the same about sex atm - I don't know if my DH is being put off by the baby (admittedly, it's a bit weird) but from going to TTC to hardly ever, it's a jump! And does nothing for my self-confidence either... however, I'm sure it's all good and just due to the fact that you're so busy and everything is in the process of changing 😊 maybe speak to your OH? Xx

MrsEG · 29/08/2019 08:58

@stormtrooperjulian It really is annoying - was another bad night last night and up and down all night! I wonder if it's to prepare us for newborns?! Hope you are doing well!

@MrsR16 Thanks lovely! Sounds like you've been very productive - can you send some of that my way?! I've done none of the jobs I need to!!

@Tropicana1 Congrats a girl how lovely! Have you any names picked? I haven't DTD once since finding out - was terrified in the first tri and now can't think of anything I'd rather do less in the second - I'm exhausted and also like you just have no libido at all. DH doesn't seem to mind but it is weird!

Hope everyone has a fab Thursday (can't believe it's already Thursday!!) - I've got such a long boring day of month end financials, the joy. Got a fun weekend coming up though so that will keep me going, including a good friends baby shower :)

stormtrooperjulian · 29/08/2019 10:22

@MrsR16 yeah I can't believe how fast the last 5 months have gone for me..... I keep thinking that I've got loads of time to get everything sorted out but I'm only a few days off 37 weeks now so I guess in reality the baby could decide to arrive any day! Have decided to take my car to be cleaned today so DH can fit the car seat this weekend, that'll be one thing ticked off the list at least

@Tropicana1 DH and I have pretty much carried on our sex life as normal, I've always considered it an important part of our relationship to maintain closeness and intimacy etc so I really didn't want to let the pregnancy affect it
Congratulations on your baby girl! Glad the scan went well

@MrsEG I was awake from 5 this morning after getting up to pee, so annoying

Fivebyfive2 · 29/08/2019 11:49

@Tropicana1, helloooo pregnancy twin!! So glad all was well at your scan and Yayyyyy to you having a gir!! 😀
In regards to sex, at first we didn't really change and we're still dts fairly regularly. But actually, we haven't done anything for about 3 weeks now, which is unusual! Admittedly, I was ill for a bit and we've been super busy etc. But I do wonder if feeling baby move and my body changing is starting to affect us?!

So, my manager is going to put a proposal to our director for a maternity package for me... Fingers crossed he agrees!!!

How's everyone doing today? Any weekend plans?

Also @MrsR16, I looove the Dumbo theme idea!! Xx

Fivebyfive2 · 29/08/2019 11:50

Omg that was meant to be dtd not dts, who even knew that was an abbreviation?! 😂

@Fivebyfive2 little homer is just so cute 💙 no weekend plans for us which is nice after a manic couple of months. Might go swimming Saturday morning as my cold is finally budging
@LokiCat I'm with you on the Pinterest board of nursery ideas.
@Tropicana1 glad the scan went well, and it's nice to have a girl on the thread 💖
@MrsR16 we're going with the same, I'm getting my FIL to draw dumbo characters on the walls... here's one he doodled a bit ago... he's just amazing!!

MrsR16 · 29/08/2019 13:23

@MrsEG trust me, you'll get there! All of a sudden you'll just have to do stuff! 😂 I doubt it'll be the same tonight!

@stormtrooperjulian that's a great idea to have the car cleaned! I hadn't even considered that...

@Fivebyfive2 thanks lovely! We were going to go with Winnie the Pooh, but then I saw some Dumbo stuff and just fell in love 😁 xx

@BabySquid well, what do they say about great minds? 😂 I love that drawing! I wish I was arty... he's so talented! Xx

cupcakesandglitter · 29/08/2019 13:30

Beautiful scan pic @Fivebyfive2 he's going to be gorgeous xx

@BabySquid how talented is your FIL!! I love Dumbo, your nursery will be beautiful x

@MrsEG check out that bump!! 🥰 xx

Ladies I'm panicking a lot today - all of my symptoms have gone - I've been desperately waiting for something to kick in, I've not even gagged today let alone vomited, no sore boobs or nausea ☹️ I'm feeling very very normal... please reassure me, I'm going crazy right now!! 😭

BabySquid · 29/08/2019 13:49

@cupcakesandglitter been there hun, don't worry... I had full days of no symptoms whatsoever. Sometimes a couple of days in a row. Don't overthink the lack of nausea.

PippaPug · 29/08/2019 13:51

Sorry I didn’t come back last night I really wasn’t feeling well so went to bed around 8ish!

Thank you @MrsEG @Bettythecat @BabySquid @LokiCat @Fivebyfive2 @cupcakesandglitter @ELW85 @LikeTheFruit - Scan went very well but took a hour so my stomach was quite sore afterwards - but defo having two!

Twin1 wasn’t that happy about the scan so decided to hide behind Twin2 for most of it which made measurements fine, but I had to have a second scan to check placenta and Twin1 had stopped hiding as much. Measurements are correct for the age they are and both are looking healthy which was really reassuring to hear!!

Sadly the midwife said due to my job I may only be working till October maybe Nov which I’m gutted about....but the babies come first.

@stormtrooperjulian - ah ok haven’t heard that before, I’m going to try bio oil and see if that helps - it’s worth a go right!

@Fivebyfive2 - Little Homer looks beautiful and glad you got to see him so clearly!

cupcakesandglitter · 29/08/2019 14:06

Ahh @BabySquid thankyou, I don't "feel" negative in my gut but I've been so unwell the last week that today has shocked me a bit! Thanks for responding ❤️

@PippaPug so glad it went well, how cute that you have a little shy one but glad to hear they're both doing great - it's a shame you may have to stop working early but as long as you and babies are well rested and healthy that's all that matters xx

ELW85 · 29/08/2019 14:25

@cupcakesandglitter - I’ve had days like that! Honestly, it freaks you out so much at the time, but you will get them back (usually worse) and you’ll be remembering the off days with fondness 😂
I think the first trimester is really hard as you don’t necessarily have anything to show for your pregnancy other than how you feel, so when that changes, it’s worrying.
However, your hormones are the driving force of the symptoms and they fluctuate all day so please try not to worry!
When’s your next scan?

ELW85 · 29/08/2019 14:25

@PippaPug - so pleased the scan went well! Congratulations 😀

cupcakesandglitter · 29/08/2019 14:29

Thanks @ELW85 I hope so!! I'm hoping I'm throwing up violently again tomorrow 😂 my next scan is in a couple of weeks and I'm taking both Mum and MIL with me too so here's hoping! X

ELW85 · 29/08/2019 14:43

@cupcakesandglitter - I’ve never been sick once (some lovely dry heaving) so I think I’ve just dodged it!
It will all be fine, and your scan will be lovely; what a nice idea to take the mothers!

cupcakesandglitter · 29/08/2019 20:59

Ahh @ELW85 you lucky thing!! Mine started as dry heaving but then progressed 🤮 I ended up napping and DH woke me up to dinner, I had slightly sore boobs but ended up vomiting it all back up BUT I don't know if it's because I was wishing it almost? Tomorrow will tell I guess

ELW85 · 29/08/2019 21:12

@cupcakesandglitter - it sounds like your back on track to me 😊 we’ve never grabbed our boobs so much in our lives 😂

LokiCat · 29/08/2019 22:57

Hi all!

Have had a crazy night. My best friend just took a pregnancy test and found out she is also pregnant! Her estimated due date is currently working out to be two days before mine!! I'm so shocked but absolutely over the moon that we get to go through this journey together 🥰

@Tropicana1 ahh congratulations, a little girl how lovely! glad all was okay at the anomaly scan as well!
Me and DH haven't DTD yet! I'm constantly worried so have told him it'll most likely be after the first trimester 😂 so glad he's been understanding about it!

@MrsR16 haha my mum is already telling me off if I tell her I spent the day cleaning the house 🙈
Ahh that sounds lovely! Can't wait to see it :)

@MrsEG we got a leaflet through the post today about pregnancy yoga, weirdly. Made me think of you. It looks pretty good and I think I'll be booking it in a few weeks time

@BabySquid your FIL is so talented! Ahh your nursery will turn out great! Also can't wait to see

@PippaPug pleased to hear that your scan went well! It just have been lovely seeing them again Grin

@cupcakesandglitter ah sorry to hear you've been panicking but it does sound like the symptoms are showing up again! What a lovely idea to take your mum and MIL to your next scan. I'm sure they'll love that!

So I'm 6 weeks today and looks like the nausea has officially shown up and boobs have gotten really sore again. Very happy for the symptoms but also regretting wishing for them so much (I'd rather they stay though, as I'll just worry more otherwise 😂).
I'm excited for the booking in appointment tomorrow even though I know there won't be much to it!

Bettythecat · 30/08/2019 07:05

@Fivebyfive2 mine definitely comes and goes too! It's so weird and so annoying! It's probably wishful thinking but I wondered if I felt some very faint movement yesterday. It was sort of like a bubble popping/nudge in the middle and on my left side. Could have easily have been in my imagination though 😂. Lovely scan photo so pleased all is going well.

@stormtrooperjulian too much cake is exactly where I am at most of the time! Reassuring to hear yours didn't arrive until 21 weeks though too 😘. Great idea about getting your car cleaned! I've got a Fiat 500 and I don't think I'm going to be able to afford to replace it before baby arrives plus we live in London so it's not really an essential- god knows what baby seat I'll be able to fit in there 😂🤦‍♀️

@MrsR16 thank you- I do have a bit of a bump but somehow I was just expecting by now to have more of a proper one. I feel like I've been waiting patiently for a bump to arrive for soooo long! 😔

@Tropicana1 I wouldn't worry about sex- as long as it's working for you and DH that's all that matters. We are a bit sporadic with sex anyway to be honest- when we were trying to get pregnant we did it every day but more normal for us is once a week. Since I've been pregnant we've probably done it less than that on average but enjoying it when we do! I have to say I feel slightly weird about it when we do it sometimes- in particular action on my boobs feels slightly odd now when I know my boobs have changed so much for the baby not for him!! I've also noticed some positions are a tiny bit painful so I've got to be a bit mindful of that.

@cupcakesandglitter if you were to go back to the boards in my first trimester I bored everyone silly obsessing about my lack of symptoms and symptoms coming and going (for literally a week or so at a time) and I used to write down all my symptoms including notes of frustration like "no bloody symptoms again today!!!!" And completely worried myself sick basically. Long story short every scan and test I've had has been completely perfect and symptoms are never taken by doctors etc as a sign of anything so even though I know this isn't helpful- try not to worry. Perhaps book in for an early scan privately if you can afford it and would like the reassurance. I hear you though, it's a tough time! I had pretty minimal symptoms all the way through (no sickness at all) so it's not always a sign of things going ok.

@PippaPug so lovely about your babies- I have to admit I'm a teeny bit jealous of you and @MrsEG I think I would love twins 👶🏼👶🏼

@LokiCat how exciting about your pal! All my besties are nowhere near babies yet although I have a few family members and less close friends with babies. Must be lovely to share it with her.

I ordered a few maternity bits from ASOS and it's arrived. Most of it was rubbish (typical ASOS fit and quality 🙄) but the jeans I ordered are great in case anyone is looking for any- I've been missing my jeans- seem to have expanded everywhere!

I'm wfh today- yay! Although I think I'm going to be super busy as I've got loads on at the moment 😔. Happy Friday everyone! Anyone doing anything good?

LikeTheFruit · 30/08/2019 10:11

Hi everyone

Finally had our first scan today! Measuring 13 weeks exactly! So surreal!

Hope you're all well!

Morning ladies,

I hope you are all well, unfortunately events this week mean I will be leaving the group 😔 I can’t wait to hear all of your news when your babies arrive, I hope they all come out lovely and chubby ☺️ and I hope that our happy ending will come someday soon ❤️

MrsEG · 30/08/2019 10:46

@Lozzlepop I’m really sorry to hear this. I had 3 consecutive MCs and I went private for tests - it is the best thing I have ever done. The NHS are great but the wait can be long (I was told 3 months, actual appt that came through was 5 months). Whatever you decide I have every hope for you (there were numerous things wrong with me so it was something we could tackle). Take care of yourself and take some time, it’s incredibly hard xx

MrsEG · 30/08/2019 10:51

@LikeTheFruit Fabulous picture! Glad it all went well.

@Bettythecat I rate New Look and BooHoo for maternity wear, very cheap too as they always have stuff in the sale!

@LokiCat Oh how lovely for you and your friend! My friend is 2 weeks behind me :) It’s so exciting!

@PippaPug I’m so pleased the scan went well! It’s scary how early we have to think about going off work isn’t it! It’s loosely decided for me I’ll be in the office til November then WFH for 3 weeks in December, then off. It seems really close!! We can get through it together :)

Hope everyone has a fab weekend - I have a sculpture workshop tomorrow! Then a baby shower on Sunday. Hoping the rain stays away too so I can get some work done in the garden. We’ve also just booked on to a TAMBA course - parenting survival with twins! So that’s in about 2 weeks - @PippaPug take a look at their website and see if there is one near you too! It was only £10 each to attend and run by mothers of twins!

TrashKitten10 · 30/08/2019 10:55

@Lozzlepop Sweetie my heart breaks for you. I really hope you are able to access some help and support and that you are back with us soon with a most precious and loved little sticky bean. You are so strong and so kind to wish others well when life is being so unfair. I'll be thinking of you and hoping so much you'll quickly get happy news ❤️

Lozzlepop · 30/08/2019 11:04

@MrsEG thank you, I remember you having a similar story and so happy that you are where you are now- double trouble hehe! Yes I have been told the waiting time is 3 months, never really occurred to me that it could be longer 😔 I just don’t think we would be able to afford to go private and if there is anywhere near us that even offers these services. I know our neighbours had IVF to conceive and they were driving from Edinburgh to Dundee daily which would be a massive undertaking. I would rather there was something wrong so like you say it can be worked on!

@TrashKitten10 thank you so much for your kind words it really means a lot ❤️ We have been told we can’t try for 3 months until all the testing gets done I just hope the appointment comes through sooner 😔
