Nausea is kicking my ASS this week. Holy crap its constant! No actual vomit yet..just constant sicky belly.

Quite enjoying the free boobjob though...although they're so painful they may as well have been in the surgeons hands.

Think OH thought he was onto a winner but if he comes anywhere near them hes met with a death glare. Haha!

How are you all ladies!?

@MrsEG hope you manage to sleep tonight! 🤞

PippaPug · 27/08/2019 12:18

@MrsEG - defo get a pregnancy pillow! I’m struggling to sleep in our bed as the mattress is a bit to firm on my side and it hurts, so I have gone to the second bedroom but I’m feeling very sad about not sleeping in the same room as my Husband, as when we are both working we aren’t together. I think a pregnancy pillow has arrived today but it’s a birthday present so I need to wait!

I am ok, got a few more days till I’m back to work and dreading it, hoping it will cool down by then. Tomorrow is my 12 week scan and I’m so nervous that something is wrong - I even did a pregnancy test today - I am slightly anxious normally (not many people know) but this is really throwing me, I’m not sure if it’s because there is two of them? Who knows.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Tuesday and not to hot!

MrsEG · 27/08/2019 12:26

@BostonFern @Fivebyfive2 @MrsR16 @thumper59 @Jessikka @pippapug Thanks ladies - I do have a pregnancy pillow my sister gave me hers, I think I’ll try that tonight and wedging a pillow between my legs and hope for the best. Does it matter what side you sleep on??

@thumper59 18 October isn’t far at all! How exciting, I bet it all goes so fast now. My sister said her third trimester flew but weeks 38-40 were the longest of her life haha! Like a kid waiting for Christmas Day!

@Jessikka Bless you I hope it starts to ease up soon. Lots of plain dry food!

@PippaPug Don’t be nervous; you’ve had your early scan and I’m sure everything will be fine. I am very anxious too so I know what it’s like but instead of worrying try telling yourself how exciting you are to see them on screen again :)

Jessikka · 27/08/2019 14:03

@mrseg fairly sure they suggest sleeping on your left? Something to do with the blood flow to the babies?

Also, may be irrelevant but with your hip and bum pain..maybe it's worth sitting on your bed and raising your left foot and placing it on your left knee and pushing down a little. Push as thpugh your knee that's elevated needs to hit the floor. It may help stretch your nerves that may be getting inflamed?

I do it occasionally as I suffer with sciatica and I find it a nice relief. Maybe doing it before bed will ward it off a little? Though with a bump full of babies you may find it to difficult lol

MrsEG · 27/08/2019 14:29

@Jessikka Thats what I thought (and was afraid of!) - it’s the left side that’s really painful. Thanks for that tip - I will definitely try it. I have pregnancy yoga tonight too and I’ll mention it there to see if she has anything that can help! Haha that’s just it - there’s so much inside my uterus at the moment it’s no wonder something has hit a nerve!

ELW85 · 27/08/2019 14:59

Afternoon all!

Sorry I’ve been a bit quiet; holiday comedown!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend?

@LokiCat - how are you feeling today, did you manage to get through to the EPU?

@MrsEG - how are you finding pregnancy yoga? I’ve got a class tonight but might need to find something a bit less rigorous!

Incoming rant ladies...I’m 10+2 today and after 3 calls to various departments it turns out they’ve just overlooked me for a scan. A midwife is trying to sort it out today, but I just feel really let down! I had my booking apt at 4 weeks due to the spotting so it’s not like they’ve not had time.

BabySquid · 27/08/2019 15:24

Hi guys, hope we're all ok, I'm bloody freezing being back in the office today! Air con to the max! ⛄️🌬
@MrsEG I've been getting sciatic nerve pain which keeps swapping sides, midwife on Friday said it's the bub! I didn't think it was big enough to have an impact like that yet!!
@PippaPug I feel like that before anything to do with the baby, I think it's normal, I felt like it before my midwife apt on Friday in case she didn't find a heartbeat, but all was well, and I'm sure it will be for you too. 🤗
Week 16 for me and it seems to be flying now! Looking forward to ep 2 of peaky blinders tonight and then first episode of a new BAKE OFF!! I love it.

stormtrooperjulian · 27/08/2019 15:40

@MrsEG what kind of pregnancy pillow do you have? Just curious as you mention wedging a pillow between your legs... you shouldn't need a separate pillow for that if you have a decent pregnancy pillow!
I don't think it matters a huge amount which side you sleep on, particularly earlier on in pregnancy - there's not any real evidence showing that the left side is better. I can't lie on one side for too long anyway as my hip starts to ache so I'm constantly switching sides

@ELW85 that's so annoying that you've slipped through the gaps for your scan! At least they're trying to get it sorted out now though.

@BabySquid I'm so excited about the new Bake Off!

MrsEG · 27/08/2019 15:53

@ELW85 It’s actually my first one tonight! They only let you start the class from 14 weeks onwards. I hear they really focus on all of pregnancy though including stretches and breathing so I’m looking forward to it. I did pregnancy Pilates last week too and it was fab - again a real focus on keeping everything ‘safe’ and looking after you and baby but I really felt it too, was sore for 2 days!! I am finally going swimming this week too; I keep putting it off as I’m always so tired but I’m sure it’ll help loosen the joints. Hope you had a fab holiday!
Ah how frustrating - I wonder as you booked in so early and it was around the spotting and an early scan that it’s just slipped the net a bit? At least they’re getting it sorted for you now! You’ve time too - anytime between 11-13 weeks I think is fine for the nuchal scan :) I was 12+3 at mine!

@BabySquid I know! My bump is quite big now (keep getting asked if I know what I’m having - I’m like nope, only 14 weeks...) but it’s still surprising me to have aches already. Makes a wary of what’s to come ha!
Ahh I’ve just caught up on Peaky Blinders (DH: ‘If it’s two boys can we call them Tommy and Arthur?’) and SO excited for Bake Off!! Apparently tonight is Cakes!!

@stormtrooperjulian I’ve no idea as it’s a hand me down from my sister buts it’s one of those massive one in like a long U shape?! That makes me feel better that I can switch sides too - I got a much better nap on the right and I think then it was my own anxieties waking me to try and turn to the left!

LokiCat · 27/08/2019 16:19

Hi all! 😊

@MrsEG yeah, he really struggled unfortunately; he didn't finish till 1am and had an early start this morning! I definitely couldn't do it.
Sorry you've had such a bad sleep the last two nights. I can't recommend much, but I hope the pregnancy pillow helps you get a better sleep tonight! Hope pregnancy yoga goes well :)

@MrsR16 how lovely of your mum!!

@PippaPug Good luck for your scan tomorrow. It'll be great seeing your little ones on screen again. It's understandable to be worried but I hope everything will be okay 🤗

@ELW85 that's so frustrating! I hope they manage to get you a scan soon. I'm glad the midwife is trying to sort it out.
I didn't get through the EPU as they were closed yesterday but I managed to speak to a midwife on an advice line in our area. She said that as there isn't any pain with the brown spotting it isn't too concerning. There isn't much they can do re scans, so it's just a waiting game.
I've got my booking in appointment on Friday, so will most likely mention it then. Maybe she'll offer me an early scan (hoping!!). The spotting has mostly stopped, so I'm feeling a lot better today.
I hope the rest of your holiday was great.

@BabySquid our air con is always turned up to the max, as well. I'd freeze my tits off if I dressed for the weather outside!
Can't wait for Bake Off tonight! Always inspires me to bake something myself (read I get hungry) 😂

First day back at work flew by very quickly. Only two more days this week as I'm working from home on Friday for my booking in appointment! Hopefully things will start feeling more real soon! I definitely don't feel pregnant at the moment. I did question myself this morning about whether I dreamed it all 🙈😂
An evening on the sofa with DH tonight, finally Grin

ELW85 · 27/08/2019 17:10

@stormtrooperjulian @MrsEG - all booked in for Friday 13th. Cue eerie music!! I’m not superstitious but really?!? 😂

@LokiCat - pleased you’re feeling a bit better! It’ll just be your uterus having a clear out so the little one can nestle 😊
Everything crossed for you for your booking appointment!
So pleased you have time with DH finally. It sounds like an awful run of shifts, bless him!

LokiCat · 27/08/2019 22:16

@ELW85 haha I'm sure from now on Friday the 13th will be a positive day for you Grin
Thanks lovely, so much for everything :) 💕 spotting has become normal mucus type discharge (sorry TMI!) so hopefully all is fine now!
Hope you've had a great evening! Xx

Bettythecat · 27/08/2019 22:29

@MrsR16 so sweet of your mum to do that! How thoughtful!

@MrsEG sorry to hear you've had rubbish sleep. I'm the same with tossing and turning and constantly trying to remind myself to sleep on my side. I think either side is fine though- from what I can tell there was only one small study that found any difference at all between left and right.

@Fivebyfive2 amazing that means I've got another to catch up on then! Homer is cute! We've not ended up with a nickname for ours at all- just call it "the baby" 😂. Not quite as catchy.

@PippaPug good luck with your scan tomorrow. I'm sure everything will be fab- make sure you check back in to show us some lovely pictures of the little ones.

@LokiCat Definitely mention your spotting to the midwife when you see her. I'm sure it's nothing but good to have the reassurance. Have you got your 12 week scan date too?

@MrsEG I've got a pregnancy pillow called Dream Genii from Mothercare. It sort of bends round so that you can put it between your legs and has a little back support type thing. No idea if it's better than any of the others but it definitely seems to have been designed cleverly.

Did you all enjoy Bake Off tonight? I'm so glad Jamie stayed he was so funny! I like quite a few of them already there seem to be some good characters!

PippaPug · 28/08/2019 06:52

Thank you @MrsEG, @BabySquid @LokiCat @Bettythecat - I just want this milestone ticked off and to know that the babies are ok. Husband is having a half day which is good, rare for his work - it’s either a full day or a day off, and his work have said he will get paid for it, so even better.

@ELW85 - Sorry you slipped through the cracks but glad you have a apt now even if it’s friday the 13th!

Has anyone else got stretch marks early on? I have noticed a few on my stomach and feeling rather self conscious of them, because I’m worried they are going to get so much worse as I’m only 12 weeks.

Hope everyone has a good day, half way through the week! Not a hot here which I’m so grateful for (and thought I would never say that!)

PippaPug · 28/08/2019 06:52

Also @MrsEG - How did you sleep last night?

Fivebyfive2 · 28/08/2019 07:14

@pippapug, good luck with your scan today!

@Bettythecat, I watched most of bake off, but we had a power cut mid way through, so will catch up with the bits I missed! I suspect dh paid the electricity board to sabotage the viewing 😂 They seem very nice and I thought most of the show stoppers looked amazing 😀

@MrsEG, how you doing this morning?? Xx

It's my 20 week scan this afternoon 🙂 Will let you know how it goes, hopefully little Homer will cooperate!!

MrsEG · 28/08/2019 07:44

@Bettythecat @PippaPug @Fivebyfive2 I slept soo much better last night, thank you! I think it as a combo of the yoga which really stretched me out and the pregnancy pillow, which was glorious. I have used it before but just for fun haha! So last night I got myself properly in to position and it was fab - slept soundly from 10-4 which isn't bad for me!

@Fivebyfive2 @PippaPug Good luck with your scans today, enjoy!

Loved Bake Off but sad Dan went as he seemed a good character! Some of the others are so forgettable but it could just be that it's week 1 and some people take a little longer to shine! It's made me want to make cake though!!!

Also I really do recommend pregnancy yoga if you can find it in your area. There was a real educational focus too and we all got handouts about positions to help during labour, which we then practiced - and she went through some breathing exercises for contractions too. It was all focusing massively on being relaxed and keeping very calm. It was the first time I've ever sat and though 'holy shit I'm actually going to be doing this!!' I felt really informed when I left and the other girls there were all so lovely too.

PippaPug · 28/08/2019 07:50

@fivebyfive2 - hope Homer decides to play ball with you today!

LokiCat · 28/08/2019 08:34

@Bettythecat yeah, I most likely will just in case she needs to do extra checks that way.
Yup my scan has been booked for 16th October. That's why I'm hoping she'll offer an early scan other we'll most likely book a private one!
Didn't watch Bake Off unfortunately. DH isn't a fan so we started the new season of Power on Netflix. Will most likely catch up tonight!

@PippaPug @Fivebyfive2 good luck for your scans today 💕

@MrsEG glad you slept better! Pregnancy yoga sounds really useful. I was having a search to see if there were any classes in my local area. Will definitely book one when I'm further along now. Thanks for sharing!

ELW85 · 28/08/2019 08:44

@MrsEG - thanks for the pregnancy yoga tips! We got all caught up on Peaky last night; how good was it? Tommy and Arthur sound like trouble as twins 😂 although DH’s favourite name for a boy is Arthur so I might be joining you, haha!

@PippaPug @Fivebyfive2 good luck for your scans today 😊 I’m sure everything will be awesome!

@LokiCat - pleased you’re doing better and everything has settled. My evening was gym then pass out pretty much 😂 how was yours? Xx

Has anyone else noticed that their boobs are less sore after a workout? I had a mild panic last night but then realised that workouts suppress progesterone temporarily, so that’s probably it.
They seem back to their (sore) selves today!

MrsR16 · 28/08/2019 08:45

@Bettythecat bake off was great! I'm looking forward to seeing how they crack on over the coming weeks 😊

@PippaPug I'm so glad it's not as warm! I had yesterday off work because I felt so rubbish with the heat! I'm normally a cold person so this is weird for me

@Fivebyfive2 ooh that's so exciting!! I hope everything goes well for you 😊 it's amazing seeing baby in so much detail!

@MrsEG I'm glad you slept better! 😁

Officially 24 weeks today! It's so scary how quickly it's going...

cupcakesandglitter · 28/08/2019 10:34

Hi ladies - I'm back finally! 😂 last couple of weeks were really hard for me, I've not been feeling happy about being pregnant, I just didn't feel like myself and then started violently throwing up which was fun, as well as having horrible headaches and the heat caused my migraines to come back worse than ever 😂 GP has prescribed me anti sickness tablets and I had a scan yesterday - I'm 8w 1d, got to see my chunky little bean and hear the heartbeat - queue lots of crying and then the realisation that I'm actually really pregnant 😂 so I'm back, feeling more like myself and much more positive 🥰

@MrsEG @MrsR16 @Bettythecat I loved bake off!! I'm glad Dan went as Jamie was really funny, although I was convinced he was going as he didn't do well this week x

@MrsR16 24 weeks?! That's gone crazy fast, how exciting xx

@ELW85 oooh I've still got to catch up on PB! I've not worked out since my BFP 😂 well done for getting one done, but hurray for the sore boobs again 😂 x

@MrsEG glad you enjoyed yoga, I'd love to take it up xx

Ahhh @Fivebyfive2 @PippaPug good luck with the scans 🥰 xx

@PippaPug re stretch marks, I've been bloating like crazy and it's already started some 😅 x

Did I see that someone was watching Power too?!

ELW85 · 28/08/2019 10:38

@cupcakesandglitter - welcome back!! It’s a difficult time for emotions and hormones so totally understandable that you’ve not been feeling great, but so pleased you’re feeling lots better now 😊
PB is AMAZING!!
And thanks, I’m really pleased my boobs are sore 😂 I think I just freak out when my symptoms fluctuate, but fingers crossed we’re 10+3 today so it could also just be where I am in the first tri? X

cupcakesandglitter · 28/08/2019 10:57

@ELW85 I get that 😂 but fluctuations are completely normal, plus you only have a couple of weeks now for your 12w scan 🥰 xx

LikeTheFruit · 28/08/2019 11:11

@PippaPug hope everything goes well at your scan today!
You too @Fivebyfive2 !!
