Hi all! How you all doing??

@ELW85, glad to hear your holiday is going well, have a fabulous time!! Xx

So I've had a day of being utterly ridiculous... Stomach is still a bit delicate, although gradually getting better. Didn't stop me having a tizz and thinking 'I bet this is because of my history, I'll probably be like this for the next 4+ months'... Like, No Dear, you have a stomach bug, calm the F down 😂 Then I had a moment with dh, because he's been really good this weekend, collected his dad from hospital (he's home, yay!) did the garden, tidied the house etc... While I've been 'dying' and too hot to do anything. I was like 'I'm sooo unattractive and hopeless, how are you putting up with meee' 🙄 Anyway, thankfully I'm over that now 😂

We're going to the cinema in a bit to see Crawl, about a woman who gets trapped in a house during a storm with a giant crocodile, as you do!! Will be recording Peaky Blinders so we can watch both episodes tomorrow 🙂

Hope every one is making the most of the weather and the long weekend? Xxx

Morning!

How are you today @LokiCat and @Delilah7 ?

@Lozzlepop I'm good thanks, 26+5 now, second trimester has been much nicer than the first, think I'm getting into the stage now where baby is starting to run out of room a bit as my ribs are starting to ache a bit!

@Jessikka I'm glad your plan worked!

@MrsR16 how was the BBQ?

@ELW85 Sounds lovely!

@Fivebyfive2 Glad to hear your FIL is home. How are you feeling now?

I didn't manage much yesterday, I think the combination of my heart condition and pregnancy didn't go well, so for the vast majority of the day I lay on the sofa to keep my heart rate down. 🤦🏼‍♀️

LokiCat · 26/08/2019 07:49

Morning! Thank you all for the reassuring words 💕 I'm trying not to worry too much.

@ELW85 @BostonFern I'm okay thank you. I had some dark brown mucus type discharge the last two mornings (it only seems to appear in the morning). I'm just hoping it stays dark brown.. Sore boobs are still there just not as intense as they previously were.
I just tried calling the 24 hour Surrey Heartlands advice line (as our EPU is only through referrals) but I think it's closed 🤔 so just going to take it easy and hope it disappears!

@BostonFern oh, I hope you're okay and managed to keep your heart rate down? I imagine this heat isn't helping. I felt so dizzy when I stepped out yesterday even though I drank so much water!

@ELW85 wow, can't believe you're almost 10 weeks, time flies! Glad you're having a great time on holiday, sounds lovely!

@Fivebyfive2 glad your FIL is home. How was Crawl? We've been debating to go see it. Hope you're feeling better today.

@MrsR16 you're right about the sheer panic haha! I hope the BBQ went well and their dog wasn't too excited.

@BabySquid a walk along the river with an ice cream sounds brilliant!

We went to an American steak and seafood restaurant for my mums birthday last night. The food was amazing! The mash was so creamy, I was obsessed 😂
DH has unfortunately been stuck working at Notting Hill carnival yesterday and again today - kitted up in this heat bless him. So a day to myself with the cats I think! Might try and sort the house out.

Enjoy your bank holiday Monday all xx

thumper59 · 26/08/2019 09:44

Morning ladies. 30 weeks today! 10 to go. This feels like a milestone, like we've reached the countdown 🥰

The heat is doing me it how is everyone else coping? I just keep going from indoors to shaded areas 😂😂

Hope your all well, have a lovely bank hol Monday! X

MrsR16 · 26/08/2019 09:59

@BostonFern it was actually ok! We tipped up and MIL gave us some more baby bits (an adorable snow suit and a couple of other bits), which was sweet. The doggo was too hot to be very problematic which was nice! It was very warm though... I can tell I'm more pregnant than when we had that heatwave last month! 😂 I think you were super sensible to just have a chill day yesterday...

Lozzlepop · 26/08/2019 10:20

Morning ladies! Happy bank holiday, hopefully you all have the day off and aren't sitting twiddling your thumbs in the office like me!

@Jessikka my nausea disappeared over the weekend but is back with vengeance this morning, it would be nice if the symptoms stayed consistent lol. I am doing good, just feel like i haven't slept in about a year haha had a lovely relaxing weekend and we have booked a wee trip away for our week off next week so looking forward to that!

@MrsR16 thank you so much, its good to be back on a pregnancy thread! How are you?

@thumper59 thank you lovely ☺️ how are you getting on?

@BostonFern wow I can't believe how the time has flown by, I remember when you and some of the other ladies were on the TTC thread, haha I have heard that the second trimester is much better 😊

How is everyone else doing? When does the tiredness ease up? Think I'm going to call EPU this week to see if they can schedule me in for my early scan at 8 weeks 🤞🏻

thumper59 · 26/08/2019 10:31

@Lozzlepop my 1st trimester tiredness eased around 9 weeks, then I got nausea (but never sick!) from around 9-12. I'm good thanks are you? Little man just wriggles away and boots me in the ribs most of the time now. 😂

stormtrooperjulian · 26/08/2019 12:21

@Fivebyfive2 how was Crawl? I couldn't make up my mind from the trailer whether it might be worth seeing or not

@Lozzlepop my tiredness went at around 11 weeks, I realised one morning that I actually felt normal again, it was such a relief after weeks of exhaustion!

I'm 36 weeks today. We're having a housewarming bbq this afternoon now the house renovations are done, I've prepared some salads etc and now I'm sitting in the garden in the shade while DH cleans the house and gets everything ready.

Jessikka · 26/08/2019 12:28

@lozzlepop as is mine. I'm led on my sofa feeling like I'm close to vomiting. I couldn't handle shopping! I had to leave and come home. That's when OH really understood I was struggling lol.

MrsR16 · 26/08/2019 15:23

@Lozzlepop I'm doing ok, although struggling with the heat today! 😂 I'm sat in front of a fan inside at the moment...

@stormtrooperjulian oh 36 weeks? Getting so close to meeting your little one! I hope you're doing ok in this heat.

@Jessikka oh no! I hope you're feeling better now lovely 😕 it's not fun feeling pants!

Lozzlepop · 26/08/2019 16:23

@thumper59 currently feeling tired and sick haha but wouldn't have it any other way! Oh you are having a boy 💙massive congratulations!!

@stormtrooperjulian wow you are almost at the end of this part of the journey, how exciting. Hope you are coping ok in the heat today!!

@Jessikka there's nothing worse, I hope you are feeling better now?

@MrsR16 a fan would be great, I am lucky that our office is pretty quiet today and we have the windows open so are getting a nice breeze! Hope the nice weather continues for my week off next week 🤞🏻

Jessikka · 26/08/2019 17:51

Cheers Ladies
I devoured 4 dry crackers and felt loads better!

Now chilling on the sofa watching LOST for the 100x time.

Hope you all had a lovely BH.

Fivebyfive2 · 26/08/2019 17:56

Hi all! Am feeling much better today 🙂

Crawl was really good, very tense and jumpy! It's just what you want from a scare flick - 2 people, a flooding basement and some hungry giant alligators!! Little Homer is definitely at the stage where he reacts to loud/sudden noises though, he was moving around loads while the film was on!

@stormtrooperjulian, wow not long to go for you! Hope you enjoy the bbq 🙂

@Jessikka, hope you fee better soon xx

It's burgers and double Peaky Blinders tonight 😎

Lozzlepop · 26/08/2019 18:37

Evening ladies!

@Jessikka @Fivebyfive2 glad to head you are both feeling better! Oooh that film sounds good might need to give it a go!

Ladies I have a question maybe someone could shed some light on regarding smears in pregnancy or post MC? Does anyone know guidelines on the above? ☺️ I have been sent a letter but I read that post MC you should wait 12 weeks and now obviously with being pregnant I’m not sure what to do 🤷🏽‍♀️

Fivebyfive2 · 26/08/2019 18:41

@Lozzlepop, I don't I'm afraid, as I had my last one before getting pregnant the first time, so probably won't need to go again until after Little Homer pops out! I'd call them up and explain, then just go from there. Xxx

MrsEG · 26/08/2019 19:23

Hi ladies! Been a busy bank holiday and gosh I’ve missed so much on the thread!! I’ll catch up properly tomorrow (while back procrastinating at work) but had to share this adorable gift a friend called round with today - one way to tell them apart in the early weeks haha!

@Lozzlepop You can’t have a smear if pregnant - mine is due this summer so my GP has noted it and I’ll be re-called 12 weeks post-birth :)

Bettythecat · 26/08/2019 21:18

@MrsEG ahaha so cute!!

@Fivebyfive2 two questions- two episodes of Peaky Blinders?! How?! I thought there was only one? And second question- how did the bump get the nickname Little Homer?! So intrigued!

Me and DH have had the busiest most productive weekend this weekend. I've painted the wall in the hallway and he's knocked down the awful 80s breeze blocks out the front and built a fence! Then we had to clean the whole ruddy house! Also tried to make Jam today- made some using the plums in our garden a couple of weeks Ago and it went perfectly so then I got cocky! Second batch today hasn't set at all- still all runny. I knew I hadn't got a set when I was making it but I re-boiled it so many times I just gave up and hoped for the best! So annoying.

MrsR16 · 26/08/2019 22:11

@MrsEG they are absolutely adorable! Your twins are going to be spoilt hey? 😊

@Bettythecat that sounds like a great weekend! Shame about the jam though! I've never attempted to make it before - is it difficult?

Bettythecat · 26/08/2019 22:28

@MrsR16 well based on my first attempt a couple of weeks ago I would have said yes- my first ever go and it seemed to not take too long and set perfectly but based on today's effort it seems to be harder than I thought! Must have been beginners luck! The worst part is that I'm not sure what I did wrong really!

MrsR16 · 26/08/2019 22:36

@Bettythecat that's never much fun - it makes much more sense if you know what went wrong!

So I messaged my mum earlier, with a cotbed from Mothercare that I'd spotted online with a top changer and a mattress, just showing her the type of thing that we're after. She messaged me back about 5 mins later going "it'll be delivered to my house and will stay here until you need it!" Bless my parents 😊

MrsEG · 27/08/2019 07:31

@BostonFern Hope you’re feeling a little better today!

@LokiCat Glad you had fun at your mums birthday! Gosh I bet it was absolutely boiling at Carnival this weekend!

@thumper59 30 weeks!! That’s it now, homestretch is here and countdown is on!! When are you starting your mat leave?

@MrsR16 My dog gets super excited around people - best thing to do is just turn your back on them. If they don’t get a reaction they very quickly calm down. I go mad at my friends who fuss over him if he jumps up, like ‘stop rewarding such bad behaviour!!’
Oh how lovely is your Mum!!

@Lozzlepop can’t believe you had to work yesterday in that heat! Hope it wasn’t too painful! My tiredness still hasn’t let up to be honest but it was at its most extreme up to 11 weeks.

@stormtrooperjulian Hope you had a lovely BBQ!

@Bettythecat Sounds like an excellent weekend all round (bar the jam incident!)

So ladies I’ve had an awful two nights; trying to start sleeping on my side especially as my bump is so big now but if I sleep on my left I am in agony - such a dull pain in my hip and in to my butt! It’s not so bad it I roll on to my right but I seem to naturally drift to my left. I have honestly had maybe 90 mins sleep in total all night :(

Fivebyfive2 · 27/08/2019 08:07

@bettythecat, there was one episode Sunday and one last night! Little Homer got the nickname from our 12 weeks scan, he looked so chilled out, lounging in the womb 😀

@MrsR16, bless your mum!! That's so sweet! Xx

@MrsEG, do you use a pregnancy pillow? Mine helps keep me in place (mostly) and gives some extra support. Although it's too warm to use it at the moment!

OP posts:
BostonFern · 27/08/2019 09:13

Morning!

@LokiCat And @MrsEG thanks, thankfully my heart rate was much better yesterday!

@Lozzlepop I know, I can't believe I'm pretty much in the third trimester-although the first seemed to last a lifetime! 🤞 you can get your early scan booked.

@stormtrooperjulian hope you enjoyed the housewarming bbq, sounds well deserved after all the work you've put into the house!

@MrsEG I love those, so cute! Sorry you had such a bad nights sleep. Might be worth trying a little wedge or pillow under bump? I empathise with the hip situation though, I'm struggling with my left hip too.

@Bettythecat shame about the jam, but the rest of the weekend sounds very productive!

MrsR16 · 27/08/2019 10:23

@MrsEG that does not sound good! I'm sorry you're having a tough time sleeping at the moment... I'd definitely recommend a pregnancy pillow! I don't sleep without mine now. I used to sleep on my front before I got pregnant and that helps keep me in the same position unless I need to roll over xx

@Fivebyfive2 we were supposed to go cot shopping when they got back from their cruise, but I guess we'll go "other bits" baby shopping now! 😂 xx

thumper59 · 27/08/2019 11:17

@MrsEG I know I don't know when it happened. It's flown since finding out he was a boy! 18th October is my last working day, however I work for family so I'll be doing bits/ popping in as and when! But I will be getting replaced from then 😂. aw the rubbish sleep and aches are rubbish. I'm another who can't be without my pregnancy pillow now! I've got the body caterpillar from Asda it's so comfy, takes up our whole bed but OH is used to it now 😂 x
