DH and I are considering the following names for DD who is due in 9 weeks. However, we can not agree on which one. The middle name will be Jayne.

Amber
Grace
Isabel
Ruby

Any thoughts or suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Jay

I like Isabel and Grace in that order

inoz · 02/08/2007 12:54

I like Ruby Jayne. It sounds nice. I like Grace too, we called dd3 (now 10mths Miriam Grace)

allgonebellyup · 02/08/2007 12:56

isobel and grace are lovely

the other two are a little chav..

artichokes · 02/08/2007 12:56

All nice except Amber.

beller · 02/08/2007 12:56

I like all of them to be fair too haha I know 2 little Rubys and they are both beautiful....Isabel would have been one i would think about ,but impossible with my surname!

hunkermunker · 02/08/2007 12:56

I love the name Grace, but it doesn't go with Jayne - too monosyllabic.

I don't like Amber.

I like Isabel, then Ruby.

belgo · 02/08/2007 12:57

I don't like Ruby. It sounds awful if you can't pronounce your 'r's.

allgonebellyup · 02/08/2007 12:59

belgo, yes, thats a fair point! one of my friends is nearly 40 and still cant pronounce her Rs, so it would be "Wooby".

lljkk · 02/08/2007 13:05

All those are nice choices to my mind, DD has one of those names, I thought Ruby was a very posh name nowdays! Kaiser Chiefs have made it popular again.

rosealbie · 02/08/2007 13:06

I like Amber or Ruby, know quite a few children called Grace or Isabel.

Pinkchampagne · 02/08/2007 13:06

Like Isabel best out of the names listed. Ruby seems very very popular atm.

ChipButty · 02/08/2007 13:06

Like Isobel best. Grace nice for a middle name. Ruby becoming a bit more common now [I'm a snob emoticon]. Not keen on Amber. x

JeremyVile · 02/08/2007 13:08

Grace
Ruby

big gap

Isabel
Amber

ELR · 02/08/2007 13:09

my fave is grace but that is the only one imo that doesnt go with jane
ruby jane sounds cool
isabel and amber ok but not to keen

LucyJones · 02/08/2007 13:12

defnitely not Grace
Grace Jayne doesn't go
Isbel is my fav

JayJ · 02/08/2007 13:16

yeah, come to think of it Grace Jayne definately doesn't go.

Thanks guys your comments are useful.

Think I am edging towards Isabel/Isobel, just got to talk DH in to agreeing now!

iwouldgoouttonight · 02/08/2007 13:19

I think Isabel Jayne is a lovely name. Grace is also nice but agree with others it doesn't necessarily sound so good with Jayne, would be better as a middle name.

kerala · 02/08/2007 13:22

Id go for Amber as its slightly more unusual than the others.

Ruby is really common amongest people I know. Also always think of Rubys as very fat but thats just me.
