I'm so excited to start this thread. Looks like I'll be due 1st April from my ovulation day (28th July by last period)!

I'm absolutely over the moon after a MC in May.
Bring on the April Babies!

@Sorbfsiabs I just added you on f-book and omg I've been having gaviscon advertised since I found out I'm pg, only just consciously noticed when you pointed out, and I only got heartburn today so it must have pre-empted... so sinister! I'm just watching the netflix documentary about cambridge analytica also..

MindyStClaire · 08/08/2019 22:22

For a woman with a typical 28 day cycle, pregnancy is counted from the first day of her last period so for a 40 week pregnancy you're actually only pregnant for 38 weeks and probably only know about it for 37 max.

If your cycle is regular but a different length this can be allowed for in the due date calculation.

For a non regular cycle, you can base it on the date of conception, but remember to add 2 weeks so you're in line with the standard way of counting.

This link has a calculator and explanation.

mummy0207 sorry you had a rough time of it last time. Flowers I had an EMCS and it was actually a lovely experience, I'm planning on an ELCS this time for sure. Happy to answer any questions if you didn't have a section last time and there's anything that would put your mind at ease either way.

MOGMOGMOG85 · 08/08/2019 22:26

@Whatelsecouldibecalled yes every day is a good thing, it's hopeful for the future if nothing else. Can I ask which clinic you are in? Only because my GP told me that I should keep my fertility clinic appointment (I hadn't had my first appointment yet) next week, but I'm not sure they'll want me to show up pregnant! My friend who is a GP said that makes no sense and that from now on I am the concern of the obstetrician not fertility... I actually have kept my appointment just in case the worst happens (it was like pulling hens teeth getting that appointment, just because of the pressure on GP surgeries and the difficulty of even getting an appointment), but I was planning on phoning them 48 hours before to ask if they still want to see me if I'm pregnant. I'm so confused all the time doctors make no sense to me!!!

MOGMOGMOG85 · 08/08/2019 22:28

@MindyStClaire thank you :) right I'm going to try to sleep now and get off this forum. so glad you're all here as my boyfriend would go mad if i constantly told him all of my worries haha!

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 08/08/2019 22:37

@MOGMOGMOG85 I’m at care fertility. I have my viability scan with them. Do you not have a viability scan before you are hopefully discharged?

eskimod · 08/08/2019 23:18

@Warrior9
I'm still pregnant now! Only 7 weeks but I was getting faint lines I think from about 10 dpo and then I found out officially on the day my period was due (3 weeks ago) I kept doing tests and the line gradually got stronger. I used the cheap amazon ones at first but they were faint so I got a cheap one from Asda and that was faint so got a clear blue which confirmed it. I got period like pains when I was due so thought I was coming on but turns out it was a pregnancy symptom (still getting g then now). I'm starting to feel a bit sick but nothing too bad to handle yet!

Warrior9 · 08/08/2019 23:31

@eskimod oh congrats!! How long did it take for you to get a nice dark line x

MOGMOGMOG85 · 09/08/2019 05:32

@Whatelsecouldibecalled I don't know - what is a viability scan? Where they check that everything is ok with the pregnancy before they discharge you? I would love one of those! Maybe I will call them to work out what's going on, thank you.

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 09/08/2019 06:05

@MOGMOGMOG85. Yes the hope is they should be able to see that the embryo has developed and hopefully s heart beat. Did you have ivf/ICSI? If so who with? X

Wilson1990 · 09/08/2019 07:24

I have also booked a viability scan (early scan) for 7 weeks. This is my first and I just want to check everything is ok/as it should be I guess! Currently 4+3 so my due date will be 14th April! X

Carysmatic · 09/08/2019 08:15

I know a lot of us ladies are feeling quite anxious. Especially those of us who have had losses before. I have started saying a new mantra to myself every time I get a bit worried about something going wrong. "I trust in my body" I say this over and over at least 3 times, sometimes with my hand on my lower abdomen and I find this helps the worry/panic to pass. Just thought I'd share as this may help others. Maybe you might want to come up with a different mantra that's up to you but I find this one works for me. If you do use a different mantra the key is to steer away from any negative words. I trust in my body, I trust in my body, I trust in my body.

MrsG3 · 09/08/2019 08:39

Thanks for that positivity @Carysmatic here's to the mummy mantras!! 😀

Lizim · 09/08/2019 09:04

I will have to try that @Carysmatic Smile

Is anyone else having any issues with their legs? I've read the pressure on your abdomen can affect nerves in your legs but I have woken up today in agony with my knee. I'm not sure if its pregnancy related or something else but i haven't done anything to strain my knee. X

CodlingMoth · 09/08/2019 10:11

@HattieRabbit I'm not as ill as you, but I am stuck in the have to eat so I'm not ill/dizzy, feel ill/dizzy because I've eaten cycle. I try to eat a little often.

It's my birthday today and DP gave me chocolate covered stem ginger 😊 It probably won't help, but he's so damn thoughtful 😍

BristolBear · 09/08/2019 10:37

@Lizim my lower legs have been feeling really odd for a week or so now. Always from the knee down and occasionally pins and needles.

A couple of nights I've slept with my feet elevated on a pillow and that's helped.

HattieRabbit · 09/08/2019 12:02

@CodlingMoth aww bless him ❤️ Happy birthday btw!

My DH ‘forgot’ to change the litter tray again (I can’t do it now pregnant as too risky) despite my going out yesterday and managing to buy cat litter!

Today it rained, with no room left in his tray our (usually well trained cat) has taken a huge poo all over the kitchen floor and trodden it all up the stairs and around the house.

The smell made me vomit until I locked myself in the spare room with the window wide open. I have no food or water in here and if I open the door I wretch!

Luckily my DM is en route to come and clean up/ change the litter tray...but I must admit I’ve sent my DH the worlds shittiest text message whilst I wait!!

He seems allergic to changing the litter tray...but knows I can’t do it! Have been told strictly by GP and vet not to!

HattieRabbit · 09/08/2019 12:05

^ Scale of 1-10

1 being ‘let it go’
10 being ‘remind him angrily about it several times and guilt him that my parents had to come to the rescue .... how angry would you be?

I get that it’s ‘not a huge issue’ but just feels like 🙄 wouldn’t have killed him to change it!

Instead he sat on the sofa last night watching tv and eating an entire box of magnum I’ve creams before retiring to bed at 8pm 😡

Carysmatic · 09/08/2019 12:36

@HattieRabbit oh that would have to be a 10! I would be livid!! My DH isn't all that keen on doing the litter tray either, he's done it once since I found out I was pregnant. Luckily my cat doesn't often use it in summer. But he's going to have to get used to it come the winter. It even says in my midwife notes that I can't do the litter try.

On another note is it even good smells that can make you feel sick? My hand soap in my kitchen is so over powering it's making me wretch!

mumof1hants · 09/08/2019 12:53

@CodlingMoth happy birthday!! Loving the present! Very thoughtful and original!

@HattieRabbit oh god that sounds horrific! Hope help arrives soon! I would be absolutely livid.... definitely a 10! DH needs to make it up to u big time and start doing it! I used to have to nap my oh to do it during my last pregnancy. It's so frustrating when you actually CANT do it. I feel for u xx

mumof1hants · 09/08/2019 12:53

*nag not nap

Islandermum · 09/08/2019 12:56

Hey all! Just had my 7 week scan which has dated me as 6+6 which works out for my dates. Everything perfect and healthy. Saw the little heartbeat 💓

@Islandermum Glad everything is looking healthy and on track for you! Must be exciting seeing the heartbeat!

Are those who are getting early scans having to pay for them themselves? My friend is 9 weeks and is paying for a private scan, she lives miles away from me and she says it's costing her £59, I've looked around online locally for early private scans and the cheapest I can find is £90! Is it worth getting one? I had a chemical last month, defiantly feel more pregnant this month and have been pregnant nearly a week longer than when I had the chemical. I think I'd defiantly like a reassurance scan but £90 seems a bit steep.

Islandermum · 09/08/2019 13:14

@Carysmatic totally worth it for me. I had two scans before from the EPU as well, but the private one was amazing. They explained everything, gave me so much reassurance and it's just amazing seeing the heartbeat so early on 💓

mumof1hants · 09/08/2019 13:24

@Islandermum awwww what a cute little bean! So happy all is looking good! Can't wait for mine!

@Carysmatic it's resonate preference I guess. I'm paying £70 for mine but I think it's worth it to check everything's ok. I'd rather know if it wasn't as early as possible too x

MindyStClaire · 09/08/2019 13:30

Lovely photo Islandermum! Glad all is as it should be.
I had a private scan at 8 weeks last time and we both felt it was well worth it for the reassurance. Obviously though it's a very personal thing - how worried are you, how big a dent would the money make in your finances etc.

HattieRabbit I'd be at a solid 9.5. Might be time for a conversation about how he's going to need to step up.
