Any BPFs out there?

So my DH and i have been trying for baby no. 2. I got my BPF on Thursday, im only 4 weeks so found out the earliest possible time!! I'm so excited but also a little worried before we concieved our first child we suffered a miscarriage (2015). We made the mistake of telling everyone really early and then endured quite a hard time having to tell people we we're no longer pregnant. Ive obviously shared the news with DH but dont really have anyone else to talk to about my excitment/worry. Im sure time will drag until 12 weeks so just wondering if theres anyone out there in the same position (not ready to share news with family/friends but looking for others to share excitement/worries)?

I'm in the same position. We had a miscarriage before we had DS (now 6) I'm now 6 weeks pregnant and feel like I haven't got anyone to be excited with my husband is very cautious. I've booked an early scan for 7 weeks +4 because we go on holiday this month. Maybe we'll consider telling people after that. I also had a bit of brown spotting at 5 weeks which made me nervous about telling people

Floralgizelle · 15/06/2019 20:26

Im just constantly worried and keep thinking im bleeding but when i go to check im actually not. Im feeling sick but cant decide if its worry or genuine sickness. Our tests have been quite light so keep thinking the worst. I thought after having our first the second time around would be less of a worry. But doesnt seem to be the case :(

Hi! Kind of in the same position- DW is pregnant not me (same sex) but I am as excited and happy as tho I was carrying... am just so thrilled to pieces and been going around with a deranged smile on my face for a week now. 4 weeks 3 days so very early and we're both really worried about something going wrong but feeling positive. Don't know how we'll possibly keep it to ourselves, we're thinking we'll tell family at 8-9 weeks after we've had our early scan assuming all is well. It was our third IUI which worked which was relatively 'lucky' as it can take more but still a lot invested time, money and energy to get this far so really hoping it'll be no more clinic trips for us until trying for number 2!

Congratulations to you, hoping smooth sailing for you

Floralgizelle · 15/06/2019 20:37

Congratulations! Its nice to know others feel the same anxiety. (Although not nice to have anxiety). Im not sure whether to go for an early scan, wondering if it will put my mind at ease or will just move on to worrying about the next thing. Hope all goes well with your early scans. Do you have an special announcement about how your going to break the news?

hillsandvalleys · 15/06/2019 20:42

We get a free early scan as part of our treatment but I'd want one anyway I think, really looking forward to the early reassurance.

I wanted to do some kind of fun reveal- like a nappy shaped cake saying 'ready to go again?' (This will be 11th grandchild) but I think we'll do a simple tell. Just can't work out how to simulataneously tell each set of grandparents in person Hmm going to have to choose which ones get to know first!

Floralgizelle · 15/06/2019 20:59

We've decided to get our toddler an only child expired t shirt and put it on see how long it takes for people to notice. Ive been trying to reassure myself and done additional test but the line doesnt get much darker so think im just adding to the worry.

OP posts:
hillsandvalleys · 15/06/2019 21:05

Aw great idea!
Yep we keep testing too to check the line but I think at this stage it's like yep, definitely pregnant so it's just a waiting game. Time is going so slowly!

MrsD93 · 15/06/2019 21:07

Iv just found out I’m pregnant on Monday , I’m so nervous too as I’m such a worrier it’s so hard not too isn’t it :( Im getting a little confused as google says I’m 4 weeks but I know when I ovulated so I’m technically 2 weeks pregnant , would I tell people Im 4 weeks ? Xxx

Floralgizelle · 15/06/2019 21:12

Time definitely drags! Hoping it quickens up once we get some reassurance. I think your 40weeks is started from the first day of your last period so you have 36weeks left. I think thats how it works anyway but not 100%. Im feeling very ill tonight so hoping thats a good sign (although does feel great). Will you be finding out the sex?

OP posts:
hillsandvalleys · 15/06/2019 21:16

Yep that's right, you add the two weeks.
Nope I want a surprise for the sex. You?

Floralgizelle · 15/06/2019 21:53

I think we're going to find out, we kept everything from our first so will be able to sort through it better. Although i did enjoy the surprise the first time. So we might change our minds. One thing i have struggled with and i know its super early so dont want to jinx anything but i literally cant think of any names. Found it hard with our first to find one we agreed on.

OP posts:
hillsandvalleys · 15/06/2019 22:05

We've got some names having been wanting kids for 10 years now... started making a list about 5 years ago! But I guess you don't really know what fits until you meet the little one?

Floralgizelle · 15/06/2019 22:07

Yeah whether they look like the names youve chosen. We didnt really fully talk about it with our first, just both kinda came out with the same name when the midwife asked.

OP posts:
hillsandvalleys · 15/06/2019 22:14

Aw that's cool :-) it'll be fun starting to think of names this time

Floralgizelle · 15/06/2019 22:27

We very rarely agree on names so its a tough one. You have peaked my interest in a reassurance scan. Currently looking them up.

From what I've researched definitely seems worth it. Seems they wildly vary in price from what I saw but seeing as we're still testing every 2 mins it'd be cheaper then doing pregnancy tests everyday until 12 week scan Grin ours will be at 7 weeks

Wishing56 · 16/06/2019 00:47

Hi, i am in the same position. I got my BFP on Thursday when I was 9dpo. I am 4+3 today with baby #1.

Feeling excited but also really nervous as found out so early.
I did another test this morning and the line hasnt got much darker.
AF wasnt due until Weds so think i will take another test then and hope the line gets darker.

I am planning on a early scan at 9 weeks and then will tell family and friends although i am rubbish at secrets so may crack before.

Have you had many symptoms?

hillsandvalleys · 16/06/2019 08:32

Hi @Wishing56
Congrats! It's hard when it's so early days, we're waiting to do the digital test until after AF (the one that would have been) has been and gone. Although there's not much point doing it as we've done about 20 tests, not even exaggerating!
Symptom wise, sore boobs mainly. Been out to buy a lot of comfy crop top bras!

Wishing56 · 16/06/2019 08:53

@hillsandvalleys good idea. I did a digital (without week detection) on Thurs night but may get one of the week indicator ones to take this week.
I was quite surprised it showed pregnant so early as i heard they arent very sensitive tests.

Good idea with the bras. I have had sore boobs and just constant pulling/tugging sensation (not really cramps)

Have you contacted your doctor yet? I was going to call when I am 6 weeks but didnt know if this was too early/late

Floralgizelle · 16/06/2019 08:55

@hillsandvalleys so true about about the cost of tests being the same as an early scan!

@wishing56 congratulations, i seemd to have nothing then all of a sudden my boobs are quite sore, but been sat with my head down the toilet this morning.

OP posts:
Floralgizelle · 16/06/2019 08:58

I dont think your firat appointment is until 8 weeks so i was going to do the same. However, they moved our midwife from the health center to the doctors surgery and it seems to have got buisier. So ive thought about phoning to get an appointment for when im 8weeks incase i cant get one locally at 6 weeks. Hope that makes some sense.

OP posts:
hillsandvalleys · 16/06/2019 09:16

@Wishing56 you did well to get a digi positive- we got positives on all our tests and the clear blue monitor but weirdly negative on the digital one... which is why we're waiting before doing again. Definitely pregnant but you're right they are so much more sensitive.

Asda have some really comfy non wired bras, we went and bought and bunch

hillsandvalleys · 16/06/2019 09:16

Oh and we've not gone to docs yet as we're still under our clinic but will contact them after our first scan (also at the clinic)

Floralgizelle · 16/06/2019 09:34

I sometimes find counting down to each appointment helps me with the time dragging.
