So my DH and i have been trying for baby no. 2. I got my BPF on Thursday, im only 4 weeks so found out the earliest possible time!! I'm so excited but also a little worried before we concieved our first child we suffered a miscarriage (2015). We made the mistake of telling everyone really early and then endured quite a hard time having to tell people we we're no longer pregnant. Ive obviously shared the news with DH but dont really have anyone else to talk to about my excitment/worry. Im sure time will drag until 12 weeks so just wondering if theres anyone out there in the same position (not ready to share news with family/friends but looking for others to share excitement/worries)?

Looks really good @Wishing56 fingers crossed for you but those are high levels. Just had the scan and all is good, yolk sac, fetal pole and a teeny tiny heartbeat!!! Now to prepare for the interview 😬 decided to tell one friend about the baby tomorrow, but otherwise waiting 2 more weeks to tell family

Wishing56 · 04/07/2019 13:02

@hillsandvalleys yay! So glad everything went well at the scan.
Good luck at your interview!

Floralgizelle · 11/07/2019 14:58

Just wondering how everyone is getting on, we had our second scan today and saw a little heartbeat so slightly relieved and hoping to calm down with the worrying. Sickness has been a killer and i am extremely ill with it, heading to GP this afternoon hopefully be able to help with it.

@floralgizelle that must have been lovely! I am nervous/excited for my scan on Saturday.
Did the GP give you anything for the sickness?

My sickness has kicked in this week which has been annoying as i am abroad on holiday. Been struggling all day everyday with nausea but I have done my best going out etc. DH was being supportive but tonight is just annoying me by keep saying 'you havent enjoyed this holiday at all' - incorrect! I have and i have tried my best to not let the sickness stop us doing stuff. Dont know if its the extra hormones but he is just getting on my nerves lol

Wishing56 · 13/07/2019 10:24

Scan in half an hour. Absolutely terrified now 😬

hillsandvalleys · 13/07/2019 10:27

Just came on here to wish you good luck @Wishing56 then saw your post. Let us know how it goes!!

Wishing56 · 13/07/2019 12:30

So... its TWINS! literally so shocked and so happy. DH and my mum have been jokingly saying 'babies' so they werent wrong. DH is speechless!

Wishing56 · 13/07/2019 12:31

Trying to attach a pic

hillsandvalleys · 13/07/2019 16:18

Fffuuuuuuccckkkkkk that's amazing @Wishing56 congratulations!!!!! Wow, what an update!!

Wishing56 · 13/07/2019 16:23

Thanks @hillsandvalleys. Still feeling pretty shocked. Cant stop watching the video of both of them with their little heartbeats.

Couldnt see clear enough as to whether they are identicals or not so will have to wait until 12week scan to find out.

Told my family, and going to see DH parents shortly to tell them too. Safe to say everyone has been shocked so far!

hillsandvalleys · 13/07/2019 16:25

Awwww just amazing. Roll on all of our 12 week scans!

Wishing56 · 16/07/2019 12:58

Heya how are you both getting on?

Morning sickness has fully kicked in now 😣 just feel horrendous all day.

Have you had your booking in appointment with your midwife yet? I have mine on Thurs so just wondering what to expect.

hillsandvalleys · 18/07/2019 10:00

Hi @Wishing56
DW definitely getting the nausea but no vomiting. But had a few days with no symptoms so booked in for another reassurance scan tomorrow just to check all is ok. I'm sure it is but she's got a total fear of missed miscarriage so this will put our minds at rest.

We've now told our 4 closest friends and my parents. Telling rest of our families over the next couple of weeks. Mum seems happy enough, dad doesn't seem to give a toss.

Booking appointment on tues morning! Will let you know how it all goes. Main thing for us is which hosp we use for delivery, as we want the one that's geographically closer but technically comes under a different healthcare patch.

Also, I read 'how to grow a baby' which has so much helpful info but is also hilariously funny, i'd defs recommend. First baby book I've read Grin

Wishing56 · 20/07/2019 10:10

Hey @hillsandvalleys how was your second scan?

Someone gave me that book so I will have to start reading it.

I was at my Sister in Laws wedding yesterday and think a lot of the family have guessed as I wasnt drinking and my dress didnt hide my bloated tummy which makes me look like i have a bump. I was absolutely exhausted by end of the day.

hillsandvalleys · 20/07/2019 11:37

@Wishing56 it all went well. Can see an actual baby shape now. Little legs were wriggling around. Measured 9w1 so due date 20/02/20, such a nice date!
DW has a little bloat bump too, she does look pregnant. Off to a family event tomorrow so will see if people guess.

Wishing56 · 20/07/2019 13:08

Ah thats great @hillsandvalleys! So pleased for you both.

I had my booking in appointment on Thursday and they put my EDD as 20/02/20 which would have been a nice date but they said there is no way I will get to that date. The babies are likely to come late Jan.

Wishing56 · 23/07/2019 18:32

Got my 12 week scan date through for 07 August! So excited to see the babies again. Annoyingly it is slap bang in the middle of the day so I think I will take a whole day off (holiday unless work are feeling generous!)

hillsandvalleys · 24/07/2019 06:55

Exciting @Wishing56 ! We booked in yesterday so waiting for our scan date to come through. Not long to wait for you! The weeks are flying by. How have you been feeling?

Floralgizelle · 26/07/2019 12:34

Hows everyone doing? My sickness still hasnt subsided cant remember when i last actually enjoyed a meal :( but on a positive note my 12 week scan is booked for 7th August. Im in 2 minds whether to book a private gender scan at 16 weeks or wait until 20 week scan, we're finding out this time as didnt with our first, im a little impatient but other half doesnt want to spend £60 and wants to wait an extra 4 weeks.

Sorry everyone the previous messages havent been coming through on the app for some reason so just seen the twins update!!! WOW. My EDD is also 20/02/20 how weird is that! And saw your scan is 7th aswell hill. Crazy how close together we all are!

Wishing56 · 26/07/2019 12:39

Hey @floralgizelle my sickness is really bad too. I cancelled dinner plans with friends tonight as seems like no point in paying for a meal I will barely eat.
I have just tried to eat whatever I fancy (even if that means cereal at 10pm lol).
Snap on the scan date! Cant wait to see the babies again now.
My mum is desperate to know what the babies are and wants to pay for a 16week scan for us but I dont really mind waiting til 20 weeks. Although I will probably change my mind nearer the time.

Floralgizelle · 26/07/2019 16:23

So hard to wait isnt it when you know you could find out 4 weeks before. Still nervous for next scan even though we've had a reassurance scan.

Hi guys im after some advice. DH has just rang from work and asked if we had plans between 11th - 15th November (this usually means a business trip) i said not that im aware of but i dont get appointment that far in advance and obviously having not been for our 20 week scan for anomalies we have no idea if we will need any future appointment etc. We previously agreed that he would only do UK business trips while pregnant and the first 3 months after pregnancy, then he can go aboard again, main reasoning for this is if there is an emergency he is likely to be able to get home quicker (car, train, plane). Hes wanting to go to Poland for a business exhibition, having looked into it there is only flights mondays and fridays which would make getting home in an emergency difficult and time consuming by having to change taking 8hour +. I know that the chance of something going wrong isnt all that high but having previously had bad experience i now plan for the worst and hope for the best. At the same time i feel bad as its a buisness trip not a holiday with the lads. AIBU to say id prefer him not to go? Or is this my issue i need to get over? Im lucky in the sense he can pick and choose business trips so there would be no negative comeback from anyone just perhaps a missed opportunity?

Hey @Floralgizelle sorry just seen this message. Hard one. What did you decide?

How did your 12 weeks scan go?

Just got back from mine. Both babies are fine but measuring at 11+1 so got to go back next Friday for another scan in order to take the measurements. Found out they are identical twins!

Been having really bad sickness and passed out at work on Monday. Been signed off work until the 19th so i can rest up.

Floralgizelle · 07/08/2019 14:30

Yeah all good at my scan got moved forward by 4 days so im 12+1 back to my original due date 18th feb. Oh identical twins how exciting, and you get to see them again next week.
Im really not sure cant tell if its my hormones of if i genuinely have a point, DH isnt too bothered and i know he wouldnt go if i really didnt want him to but can tell he'd be disappointed, quite a short deadline aswell this week/next for spaces available as id orginally thought we could compromise and if everything was ok at 20week scan he could book to go but thats leaving it too late.
Pleased your able to rest up, im not feeling great with 1, let alone 2 in there. Hope you feel better soon
