Any BPFs out there?

So my DH and i have been trying for baby no. 2. I got my BPF on Thursday, im only 4 weeks so found out the earliest possible time!! I'm so excited but also a little worried before we concieved our first child we suffered a miscarriage (2015). We made the mistake of telling everyone really early and then endured quite a hard time having to tell people we we're no longer pregnant. Ive obviously shared the news with DH but dont really have anyone else to talk to about my excitment/worry. Im sure time will drag until 12 weeks so just wondering if theres anyone out there in the same position (not ready to share news with family/friends but looking for others to share excitement/worries)?

How's it all going @Floralgizelle @MrsB899 @MrsD93 @Wishing56 ?
Everyone doing ok?

Wishing56 · 18/06/2019 14:13

@hillsandvalleys got a bad cold at the moment so struggling through that without being able to take much for it.

I took a digital weeks test on Saturday and that showed 2-3weeks so feeling fairly positive at the moment. Although I go through rollercoaster of being excited and then next minute nervous for getting excited.

Think i am going to contact my GP this week as people on Feb 2020 thread had already contacted their GP and got a date for first midwife appointment.

Have you got the date for scan at the clinic yet?

Floralgizelle · 18/06/2019 14:19

I did contact and just told them i was only 5 weeks, got my first appointment 8th july. Ive had a bit of cramping and a slight colouration when wiping twice, so im super nervous and hoping its just implantation. Really swaying towards a reassurance scan now though. Ahh hard enough without a cold hope your feeling better soon. How is everyone else?

Glad you're both doing well aside from the nerves and cold!
We also got 2-3 weeks on the digi this morning which seems right, we're 5 weeks tomorrow. Early scan on the 4th July. Feels so far away, super impatient.
From what I've read on these forums, spotting is really common. DW has had a lot of cramping but no spotting but from what I've read if you do spot a bit then it's often nothing to worry about.
Decided to tell people at 9 and a half weeks as that's when we'll next see family so hoping everything goes ok til then

Floralgizelle · 18/06/2019 15:09

Yeah ive googled the hell out of it and everywhere says its normal and to be honest im sure i had it with my 3 year old. You forget how nerve wracking and how much time drags. Ive had a bit of a dull ache so thinking it could be those early symptoms. Just hoping all goes well. Thats a good idea and at 9 weeks you will have had your reassurance scan. The nerves and excitment come in waves sometimes i feel really positive then other times im ill with worry. Really trying to keep a calm head.

Hi ladies, I found out I was pregnant yesterday after taking 6 tests and being in total shock! Feeling extremely anxious as had a MC in March.. I feel like its going to be such a long wait until my first appointment with the midwife :(

hillsandvalleys · 18/06/2019 15:40

Hi @possum236 we're just over here riding the see saw that is intense excitement mixed with intense anxiety! Congrats on your BFP and sorry to hear about your previous MC. This is first time ever pregnant for me and DW so this is all completely new, just taking it day by day

Wishing56 · 18/06/2019 15:46

@hillsandvalleys i am the same 5 weeks tomorrow. NHS calculator puts due date around 25th Feb. DH turns 30 on 23rd Feb so he may get a good present haha.

@possum236 welcome and congratulations on your BFP! Sorry to hear about your previous MC. Keeping fingers crossed for sticky babies for us all.

So glad i have found MN as i realise i am not alone in all my worries!

Floralgizelle · 18/06/2019 15:50

Congratulation Possum, i was exactly the same and did a fair few tests. Wish we could all just sleep for the next 6 weeks and wake up and be at the 12 week mark, would be so much easier. The days are dragging along. Definitely helps to have people in the same position and the reassurance for other people that they have experienced similar symptoms. Sending lots of baby dust to everyone.

Hey @hillsandvalleys & @Wishing56 .. congratulations to you both also! It's only really starting to sink in and it's making me feel hugely paranoid due to the past but I suppose I've just got to be optimistic and wait for my appointment in the post!

MrsD93 · 18/06/2019 17:09

I’m feeling ok just cramping no other symptoms , I really want to go for a early scan don’t think I can wait till 12 weeks , when do you guys thinks it’s a good time to go for one ? Iv heard if you go too early you can’t really see much xxx

hillsandvalleys · 18/06/2019 17:15

Ours is at 7 weeks but I think 8 weeks is supposed to be better. Especially if you don't know exact ovulation dates. Anytime from 6 weeks should show something tho, just probably no heartbeat yet and that's the bit I want to see! I definitely couldn't wait until 12 weeks! But hoping all is well with the scan as sometimes they're not as reassuring if too early

Wishing56 · 18/06/2019 17:21

@mrsd93 i am planning on going for early scan at 8+4 (14th July) as i get back from holiday on the 12th July. Just want to see a heartbeat and check for multiple pregnancy.

You can go from 6weeks but you are unlikely to see a heartbeat and i think i would worry more and want another scan (could get expensive!)

MrsD93 · 18/06/2019 18:03

@hillsandvalleys @Wishing56 yeah good idea I know I ovulated on the 31st may so I’ll do around the end of July maybe and hopefully it should be ok? , 12 weeks just seems like so long away when I googled it , it says it can be anything from 10-12 weeks for your scan has anyone heard of this ? Xx

Wishing56 · 18/06/2019 18:17

@mrsd93 yeah can be anything from 10-13+4 i think.

Normally happens between 11-13weeks.

MrsB899 · 19/06/2019 17:50

@hillsandvalleys all ok here I have my private scan next week I can't wait. I'm feeling good really had a few days of feeling sick but that's seems to have passed. I had a blood test today and came over so funny in there I was so embarrassed. How are you all feeling?

Wishing56 · 19/06/2019 18:41

Booked my first midwife appointment today for 18th July when I am 9+1 as I am going on holiday the week before. Kinda excited that have something to count down to.

Seems strange today as AF would have been due today so kinda hit me that its real (despite all the tests).

My mum is back from holiday tomorrow and really want to tell her but think my DH wants me to wait.
Have you ladies told anyone yet?

hillsandvalleys · 19/06/2019 22:31

I'm going out for dinner with my mum tomorrow, it'll be so hard not to tell her!
Yay for everyone getting scans booked in. DW tells me the nausea has started today, seems early at 5 weeks but I guess it's gonna kick in at some point. I'm going to be helplessly flapping around, half bereft at seeing DW feeling so rough but half pleased that there are strong symptoms as that means baby is going strong Grin i can't concentrate at all at work as I'm just too excited thinking about it all and keep checking my phone for updates from DW

Floralgizelle · 20/06/2019 08:58

Its so hard keeping it a secret when your excited. 18 days until my booking appointment, but need to go to collect my notes to fill in, hoping i dont see anyone i know as its based in the doctors surgery, not very good for confidentiality as they hand pregnancy notes over the counter.

Anyone having cramps? Feeling paranoid after the MC but having no bleeding with so just assuming its implantation cramps?

Floralgizelle · 20/06/2019 12:20

Yes i had cramps and like you ive been really paranoid. They seem to subside then come back feel a bit more of a pulling/stretching now so hoping its just everything moving into place. So hard not to worry isnt it. :(

OP posts:
Wishing56 · 20/06/2019 12:44

I have had some cramps but more of a constant pulling/tugging.
Everytime I cough or sneeze (which is alot with this cold) i get a sharp pain in my left side but after a quick google this seems normal and maybe round ligament pain.

Floralgizelle · 20/06/2019 13:14

I also resorted to google and found its quite common in early pregnancy. Think you just find it hard to relax when its you and previous experiences. Trying to remain positive.

OP posts:
possum236 · 20/06/2019 13:15

@Floralgizelle Yeah it is, I just feel ridiculous though worrying at anything I feel 😶 I may its early days and anything can happen but we need to stay positive lol which seems easier said than done!

Hopefully it is everything just settling into place etc

Floralgizelle · 20/06/2019 13:34

I feel like i can think about nothing else and then that makes the time drag even more. Just going to have to start doing things to try and keep busy.
