Pregnant not sure of the father...

In desperate need of help. Split with cheating ex on May 25th, that was the last time we had sex. As I didn't know he was a cheat at the time we weren't using anything as we wanted another baby. Fast forward to June 2nd I was really stupid and got really drunk and slept with a friend (never ever have one night stands so this is unlike me) Yesterday found out I'm pregnant with a fairly strong but totally confused as to who's it is and don't want to tell either of them. What are the chances of it being the friend if we slept together on the 2nd and I got a digital positive on the 11th? Help.

Last period was May 17-22. Usually very regular!

Unless you ovulated early then I would say it was your friends. But it's difficult to say without knowing when you usually ovulate. Also sperm can stay in body for up to 5 days so there could be a chance it's your ex's if you had sex just before you broke up. Who's would you prefer it was?

I tested positive 12 days PO.

Unless you have a long cycle, i would say it is more likely you conceived on the 25th of May as it was on day 9 of your cycle and semen can survive up to five days so that would mean if you ovulate early or average on day 12-14. there would be live seman still around.

On the basis that digitalis arent very sensitive (apparently), getting a positive result 9 days after sex seems unlikely.

However conception 9 days in to your cycle is also a bit unlikely.

But as PP says you could have ovulated any time over the next 5 days and still conceived which takes you to day 14 of your cycle which to me seems more likely.

But I’m not a doctor!

Sorry for confusion looking back at my app, the hearts are when I had sex with my ex right before we split and then with friend (hoping pic attaches)

Would be easier if it was exes as we have one DD. But also know friend would be very lovely and understanding. Would also rather not have to tell both and go down dna route but know it may be likely

Days 10 and 11 with ex and day 16 with friend. Far too close to tell. You’ll need a DNA test.

I’d say it’s your ex’s too, as it happened before ovulation (if you actually ovulated then) so the sperm would have already been there when the egg was released

But yes, please do a dna test. You can do one while pregnant I believe. This happened to a good friend of mine. She didn’t say anything until the baby was born and it all went quite badly.

You also dont have to continue with pregnancy particularly if it will make your life very difficult with your ex.

How many days apart are your periods usually? Day 16 could be too late to conceive so could be your exes but it would depend on the length of your cycle.

Either way congratulations on your pregnancy x

Do you know how far long you are? Could you do a conception indicator test and then go from there?

If you have a good relationship with your friend, you could ask him to do the dna test. If it comes back negative you have an answer. Ex may still ask for a dna test later if it happens he’s the father.

Talk to someone you trust in real life though. This is hard to deal with on top of being pregnant. Don’t keep it to yourself x
