I found out last week (at two days past expected AF) that I'm pregnant - had a BFP on a First Response test. This is my third pregnancy since October last year. Works out that I'm due around the 3rd Feb 2020.

I've had two miscarriages - one in October 2018 at 12 weeks which resulted in surgery and another in February 2019, which ended at 6 weeks. I'm really quite nervous, but hopeful that this time is third time lucky. 🤞🏻🌈

Is anyone else due in Feb 2020? Are you having any symptoms?

Hi - I'm due February 2020 too. Had the BFP and confirmed by doctor.

This is very much a surprise baby - and I'm still getting my head around it.
Have a lot of anxiety about whether I'll be a good mother, I don't feel "connected" to the baby yet, feeling very sick but eating pineapple helps!

S082018 · 18/06/2019 11:41

Welcome to the newbies! So lovely to see so many of us sharing stories of our recent BFP's 😊

Anybody else experiencing weird hormonal changes? For example...I've suddenly developed really dry skin around my chin area (apparently quite common) and also last night despite having the window open and a fan on, I woke up literally soaking wet with sweat 😳 (again, apparently quite common). Not so pleasant!!

ImMeantToBeWorking · 18/06/2019 11:53

@LittleMissi hey, yup thats me!! How did your birthday go?? I will have a look at the FB group now. Thanks!

Welcome to all the newbies, lovely to have others to share this journey with!! GrinGrinGrinGrin

ImMeantToBeWorking · 18/06/2019 11:54

@LittleMissi I don't seem to have a message from you!

Chichichi · 18/06/2019 12:15

@ImMeantToBeWorking I've just sent a PM for the fb group too Smile

ImMeantToBeWorking · 18/06/2019 12:48

@Chichichi I don't have the FB group details, it is @LittleMissi

Wishing56 · 18/06/2019 12:56

I will be 5 weeks tomorrow but I havent even contacted my GP yet.
Should i do this ASAP?

Chichichi · 18/06/2019 13:05

Oops sorry baby brain already 🤣

ImMeantToBeWorking · 18/06/2019 15:05

@Wishing56 - I was off last week at 4w5. I only made the apointment as I happened to have a day off and it saves me having to go again! He said I was there very early.

Not sure if you are Irl or UK based but I think in the UK you can just contact your community midwife, in Irl it is the GP first.

My GP told me the hosp won't get in touch with me until well into the second trimester! sigh

@Chichichi I googled when does baby brain start the other day as it is really affecting me too and I don't know if it is baby brain or just me blaming that, but I am more stupid than normal!

Kiskacsa · 18/06/2019 16:40

@LittleMissi can I join the FB group too? What do I need to message you with?

hazandduck · 18/06/2019 16:56

@WineOrGin that is a cool date of birth! My DD was born 17/11/17 I really like how it looks written down 😂
I’ve been having bad back ache and cramps. I had them with DD at around this stage but still makes me worry, I seem to just be super crampy whenever I’m pregnant whether it sticks or not.

6 and a half weeks ish now, going to call the midwife to book in next week so I’ll be about 8 weeks at my first appointment hopefully, and have a private scan either at 8 or 9 weeks. Keep veering between absolute confidence that all is ok to complete belief I’m about to miscarry. Bloody hate this trimester!

LittleMissi · 18/06/2019 17:04

Hi @Kiskacsa,

Congrats! Sorry it's not me either. I think it's @tisonlymeagain who might have made it. If you send her a private message with details of or your profile pic so she can find you then that should work!

Xx

tisonlymeagain · 18/06/2019 17:08

Correct, I can let you in!

Sheep90 · 18/06/2019 18:18

I'm now around 6+4 and feeling rough 😢 completely exhausted and have waves of nausea too. The thought of eating anything dry is revolting me! I've also got a lot of other stuff going on in my life, so my anxiety levels are really high. Has anyone had their duties at work amended when they've been struggling in the first trimester? I'm fine with looking and feeling like crap whilst at my desk, but really struggling with the public-facing parts of my job which require me to be in performance mode.

fancyfuchsia · 18/06/2019 18:41

Hi everyone!

Hope it's ok if I join! I'm fairly sure I am 4+3 today but got my BFP at 10dpo and time seems to be dragging! First timer with an EDD of 22/02.

I have been SO TIRED. I have felt as though I might just drop to the floor and fall asleep at work. To make it worse I keep having awful and vivid nightmares which wake me up in the night. I think this is due to the hormones!?

I haven't rang GP yet, don't want to call in too soon. Would also be interested in self referring as my Doc's are rubbish but I'm not sure how and I can't track down a number to call. What's everyone else doing and what's the norm?

Flowersandrainbows2017 · 18/06/2019 18:54

@S082018 I too am sweating a lot! Doesn’t take much for me to get a dab on now, yet I feel cold a lot of the time too... weird!

Another thing I find strange is how different I feel each day! I thought i’d at least have some of the same combo of symptoms each day, but for example, some days I feel a bit nauseous all day and my boobs might not feel quite so full/tender yet the next day might be really sore in the boob department and no nausea... plus the other symptoms (headaches, the sweating, cramps, headache, thirsty, tired...) that vary in intensity/aren’t there at all some days! Each one is still mild, but noticeable even at its most ‘intense’ at the moment when it is there, but definitely still so variable.
Anyone else finding similar?

Flowersandrainbows2017 · 18/06/2019 18:59

@Sheep90 I feel you. I am debating whether to tell my manager at the moment too. I’m only just over 5 weeks so expecting symptoms to worsen soon, but I work in an intense environment where I can’t just necessarily leave straight away if I feel ill and it’s worrying me a lot in case I do find myself in that situation and can’t look after myself properly as well. But I’m torn because I really don’t want to tell anyone this early, yet don’t want to be over doing it and risking the pregnancy (possibly!)

Yorkshiredolls · 18/06/2019 19:12

I’m thinking about telling work too @sheep90 and @flowersandrainbows2017. i don’t really want to tell them this early, 6+2. I don’t want the attention or gossip. i haven’t even told my mum yet! part of my job role is sometimes I have to work in an area where we’re exposed to xrays. tomorrow i’m working in that section but i might be able to convince my collleague to do that role. but i can see that some time very soon someone’s going to question why i’m avoiding that area or the rota might be such a way that i’m the only person working who can do that role. argh!

Kiskacsa · 19/06/2019 00:57

I ended up telling my boss via email today 🤦🏻‍♀️ Got asked how my availability looked over the next few months, and didn’t know how else to answer the question. So that makes her knowing before anyone other than DH (although I think his parents suspect after I declined a drink they’d bought for me this evening and was cautious about some pink looking chicken). Feel like I’m jinxing it...

tanitani · 19/06/2019 04:18

Also considering telling work early - my initial supervisor does know but the main boss doesn’t yet. It’s tough to keep my schedule going.

Looking for a handhold and offering one back to everyone struggling with nausea!! I feel awful today.

catmum2019 · 19/06/2019 07:04

Nervous first timer .... lines getting darker this is good yeah?

Four weeks yesterday and only cramps on my side and slightly tender boobs as symptoms

Due in Feb 2020
Kiskacsa · 19/06/2019 09:31

Looking very good @catmum2019 :-)

Kiskacsa · 19/06/2019 09:31

@tanitani good luck with the green! I’m not too bad today - metal taste in my mouth mostly

S082018 · 19/06/2019 09:35

Anybody else a sucker for repeating CB digital tests just to see that number of weeks progressing?! 🤦🏽‍♀️

Got my 1-2 weeks on the 5th June. 2-3 weeks on 10th June and 3+ today. Keeping my fingers crossed that it's a good sign 🤞🏽

ImMeantToBeWorking · 19/06/2019 12:35

@tisonlymeagain thanks I have sent you a message!

@Sheep90 I was getting vivid dreams but they have stopped since, thank feck. It was horrible not feeling rested the next morning.

@S082018 I have a CB at home but I don'y know what type. I was thinking of POAS but if I open it and it is just the + one I couldn't be bothered. Might give it an oul feel later. I have had so many CBs over the last few months I can't be sure what ones are left.

I work in an office with all men. Two of them have kids and I know would be very supportive if I needed to go home or anything. But at the same time I don't want to tell anyone yet. If I start getting morning sickness they will know straight away as the ladies toilet is just one toilet and the door opens out onto the corridor right across from the canteen. There would be no way of disguising the noise. Hopefully that is a while away yet though.

I am thinking of nice ways to tell my parents that I am pregnant. Maybe ordering cups that say "only the best mothers get promoted to grandmother" and then "Baby XXX Coming Feb 2020" in the bottom for when they finish their tea. Or maybe baking a cake with it on the top. I am the eldest child and grandchild so this will be the first grandchild/great-grandchild. Grin

Anyone any ideas??
