I found out last week (at two days past expected AF) that I'm pregnant - had a BFP on a First Response test. This is my third pregnancy since October last year. Works out that I'm due around the 3rd Feb 2020.

I've had two miscarriages - one in October 2018 at 12 weeks which resulted in surgery and another in February 2019, which ended at 6 weeks. I'm really quite nervous, but hopeful that this time is third time lucky. 🤞🏻🌈

Is anyone else due in Feb 2020? Are you having any symptoms?

@S082018 - I just keep checking in on ICs to see the line get darker...

Tyburn · 19/06/2019 14:52

Ok, leaping in.

Due 8th Feb.

My first after 20 years of trying (I'll be 40 in two months).

My first symptom was (Other than becoming irrational and grumpy) was all of my toes going numb. ... aaaannnnd that's been it.
No other symptoms.
I'm sure I'll feel pregnant eventually.

Tyburn · 19/06/2019 14:59

@ImMeantToBeWorking I'm planning on announcing it by asking my parents to pick up something I've bought off ebay, but could only find near them.

(Seriously, there are NO vendors within an hours drive of me)

I'll tell them that it's antique lampshades for the house or something.

Then see how they react to picking up a ten quid cot or pushchair.

ImMeantToBeWorking · 19/06/2019 15:13

@Tyburn a lot of people on here don't seem to get too many symptoms. I could be a lot worse to be honest!!

That is a good idea! My parents both work though so it would not work for me, plus I would love to see their faces when I tell them!! My brother is special needs so I want to tell him to his face too! He loves babies! I also want to tell my grandparents to their face as I know they will be delighted!! Its all so exciting!!

hazandduck · 19/06/2019 16:47

We’ve got a “Big Sister” t shirt for DD and will ask one of the grandparents to take off her jacket when everyone is sat around. I planned on telling DH that way on his birthday but he guessed I was pregnant before and I couldn’t lie to him! I feel like I’m tempting fate thinking this far ahead but then I think nothing I do will cause a miscarriage I need to stop thinking in this self-blaming superstitious way!

Eyre89 · 19/06/2019 17:02

Hi all congratulations

I think I'm due around the 17th Feb.

This will be my 2nd and I feel totally different this time.

Tmi either bunged up or the opposite. Feel nauseous and not hungry. And having stomach cramps like period and sore burning back. Also not sleeping great even though I'm exhausted.

I'm relived some others have had cramping and sore backs as that's reassuring me that it's normal.

OccasionalNachos · 19/06/2019 20:51

Hello... lost track of which Feb 2020 thread I’m on, so might as well jump in here. 7+5 today. Nausea kicked in big time last week, worst in the afternoon & evening. Only seems to be soothed by eating. I feel very bloated, & haven’t been exercising as much due to nausea and tiredness Sad

@ImMeantToBeWorking the cups idea is lovely! I would like to do something like that when I tell my parents but right now I just feel awkward about telling anyone... especially in-laws & a particular group of couple-friends. No idea why it all feels so cringey!

Kiskacsa · 20/06/2019 06:36

5 weeks today! Feel oddly excited about that. Feeling a little bit more green by the day. Not got anything special planned for announcing - as both sets of parents have other grandchildren due in Sept and Nov respectively, I don’t think we’d score much on the excitement charts anyway. Besides - I’m still too nervous about things going wrong to think about it properly yet.

@Flowersandrainbows2017 I'm the same - every day I wake up with a different combo of symptoms, I can't keep up! So far I've had extreme tiredness, not being able to stay asleep for more than about 20 minutes, twingy pains on one side, an awful taste in my mouth, being absolutely ravenous, not wanting to eat at all, being so thirsty, pelvic pain, back pain and crazy hot flushes. I sound like such a whinger 🙈 but honestly this feels mad - nothing usually gets to me, I haven't had a day off sick since I broke a bone in 2011! Had my first bout of nausea in the shower this morning but it wasn't awful and I'm hoping it'll disappear as quickly as all the other symptoms.

@WineOrGin @Kiskacsa I'm 5 weeks tomorrow, I don't think I've ever been so excited for such a tiny 'anniversary'!

How is everyone finding their GPs/midwives locally? I'm getting impatient that they haven't even scheduled my booking appt yet, I know it's just business as usual for them and it's so early but as a total newbie I'll feel so much better once someone else confirms it and starts telling me what the hell I should be doing!

Gemster19 · 20/06/2019 07:27

PS sorry for the essay ladies, my DP is the only one who knows our news and he is staying in hospital this week with his mum who is in the very last stages of terminal cancer 😢 so I have no-one to talk baby to!

Lav0416 · 20/06/2019 07:34

Hi
I’m due the end of Feb, this will be our 3rd, very excited, feeling very tired and sick I am hoping it passes soon, was sick the whole way through on my 2nd! Hungry all the time!

Hope everyone is feeling well

Flowersandrainbows2017 · 20/06/2019 07:42

‘Celebrating’ the small milestones is a thing-yay! I’m 6 weeks today from the first day of my last period, but I know I ovulate a bit later than half way in my cycle so not ‘officially’ 6 weeks yet, but I’ll take the milestone anyway since that’s what NHS go by until the dating scan (and then celebrate the real 6 weeks in a few days time too 😂)

@Gemster19 so sorry to hear about your MIL, such a horrible disease.
My DH is going away with work next week and I’m really dreading being on my own. I had to tell a close friend already anyway though (who knew we were trying) so I didn’t lose my sanity! DH is fantastic, but he doesn’t have a womb or hormones... friend has 3 kids, she gets it 😁 👍🏼

Glad to hear I’m not the only one with varying symptoms though too!! My DH is just used to the daily symptom update now 😁

3catsiscrazy · 20/06/2019 08:33

Hello ladies. Joining too - this is my first pregnancy at 35. Currently 5 weeks and due 19th feb. I’ve had lots of bloating and IBS symptoms so far and finding it very strange that this huge thing is happening and not telling people yet. It’s nice to be able to say it here 😀

Nkb15 · 20/06/2019 09:01

Good morning all!

I'm a complete newbie so please bare with me whilst I catch up on all the shorthands. We found out last week I am pregnant due 14/02/20, I had a scan yesterday to confirm the pregnancy had progressed and it's where it should be. IV been experiencing horrendous cramps at night time mostly but they are confident it's not pregnancy related now so that's a relief.

I have an 8 year old step daughter, we have a wonderful relationship but she has always been very adamant she doesn't want siblings and I'm really nervous about how she's going to take it. Has anyone got any advice on how to best break it to her? Id hate a new baby to make her unhappy.

IV seen earlier in the thread there's a FB group, id love to join. This is my first pregnancy and my anxieties are in overdrive!

JellyBaby666 · 20/06/2019 10:49

Hi all, congratulations!

Due end of Feb, 24th I believe by my dates. Still feels so surreal, I can't quite believe it. Keep just looking at the stick in disbelief! Happy happy disbelief though.

My partner is in the military and works away M-F, I told him via Facetime on Monday morning when I'd taken the test! He's home tonight so I'm really really excited to see him and celebrate properly.

Finding it difficult not to jump ahead, but also not be doom & gloom about it, the worry of miscarriage is there as I'm sure it is for everyone. I feel so nauseous and knackered even though I'm 4+3, I hope its a good sign?

I've told a few friends, but its so nice to talk about it here!

Marleym28 · 20/06/2019 10:52

Hi, I've been lurking for a while and I'm on another feb thread but could use a bit of moral support lol. I'm 6 +3 (due 10feb)
The sickness is kicking my butt. Stared last couple of days. When I first wake up it gets me and I'm off food. Trying to make myself have something. Goes away then comes back when I'm hungry,In fact before I even know I'm hungry sometimes. Have lunch as then I feel like I need to eat EVERyThING! then I'm on shut down and need a nap.
It's so hard hiding it at work, I'm like a tired sicky zombie.

Any good times on the sicky feeling? X

ImMeantToBeWorking · 20/06/2019 12:31

@hazandduck I know it is such an old wifes tale that you should not tell anyone before 3 months as it is bad luck, and DP is so set by that, I want to scream it from the roof tops.

Two of my friends know, purely because I was out and not drinking, they ain't stupid. Even though I tried to cover up that I wasn't drinking they still new.

@Gemster19 are you based in UK or Irl? My GP told me it would be into my second trimester before I am brought in. I was with him this day last week and I have had nothing from the hospital yet. I want a date or something I can look forward to as well! lol

Not telling anyone else until 12 week, so the first weekend in Aug. We have a family wedding on DP's side so might tell his family the morning of that, but then my family are away from that weekend for two weeks, so it will be the 24th of Aug before I see them which is 3 weeks later!! I might just convince DP to tell them a week early.

pandaobsessed · 20/06/2019 20:47

Hi ladies. Little update. I'm 7+5 and currently in hospital on IV fluids thanks to the dreaded Hyperemesis which I had with my son. I've been very ill. The positive I've had from this though, is a scan today which showed our rainbow baby with a heartbeat 💕

OP posts:
ronniemipperton · 20/06/2019 20:54

Ooof sorry you’re going through that @pandaobsessed but great news about the scan x

pandaobsessed · 20/06/2019 21:21

@Nkb15 congrats to you! How about giving your step-daughter a present from the baby-to-be? I'm not very creative with ideas, but I'm sure some of the other ladies might be able to suggest something...

OP posts:
Chichichi · 20/06/2019 22:02

That sounds awful @pandaobsessed I hope the fluids and some decent antiemetics help you feel better quickly. I bet it was great to see the heartbeat 😊

Flowersandrainbows2017 · 21/06/2019 07:07

Oh no @pandaobsessed how awful for you Sad hope they can help you feel better very soon. How reassuring to see the heartbeat as well!

JellyBaby666 · 21/06/2019 11:17

So wonderful to see the heartbeat, but I'm so sorry you're in hospital with HG @pandaobsessed - I hope you're being well taken care of and can get home soon!

hazandduck · 21/06/2019 11:55

Oh @pandaobsessed so sorry you’ve been suffering so much. Hope you’re ok and get to go home soon x
