I found out last week (at two days past expected AF) that I'm pregnant - had a BFP on a First Response test. This is my third pregnancy since October last year. Works out that I'm due around the 3rd Feb 2020.

I've had two miscarriages - one in October 2018 at 12 weeks which resulted in surgery and another in February 2019, which ended at 6 weeks. I'm really quite nervous, but hopeful that this time is third time lucky. 🤞🏻🌈

Is anyone else due in Feb 2020? Are you having any symptoms?

@S082018 I’m so pleased your scan went well and always better if you’re further along! I spoke too soon about not having symptoms! I’ve been feeling unsettled all morning and had to treat myself to a pan au chocolate to get through this morning!! I’m going to call the hospital at lunchtime to see if I can get a midwife appointment! Fingers crossed xx

S082018 · 09/07/2019 12:53

Thank you @Geo33! It was so reassuring to see our little bean and it's flickering heartbeat and yes lovely to know I'm a little further along than I thought.
How many weeks are you? I tend to feel a little nauseous in the mornings but once I have eaten it passes. I've noticed I feel more sick when I'm hungry so I've started to eat little and often throughout the day rather than 3 big meals. Seems to be working well.
Having said this I'm off on holiday tonight for a week and it's a scorching 40+ degrees! No sunbathing for me but I am a little worried about how the heat will make me feel. I felt very nauseous a few weekends ago when we had our heatwave weekend and temp reached 30 degrees so it'll be interesting to see how I am abroad!

Geo33 · 09/07/2019 15:13

@S082018 I’m 7 weeks and 5 days!! I think you’re right about eating more regularly I’ve definitely done that today and feeling a lot better this afternoon for it, need to find some ‘healthy’ biscuits for afternoon time, I’m just craving chocolate a lot and pasta! After an hour of trying to get through to the hospital I finally got through to the appointments line and I have my first midwives appointment on the 26th July! It’s quite late as I’ll be 10 weeks but just so glad I’ve got an appointment! I’m also off on holiday tomorrow but thankfully it’s going to be 28C which is perfect for me! Have a lovely holiday and keep well whilst you’re away I’m so sad I can’t have seafood everyday on the beach especially prawns!! X

Oh what a relief it is to read that some of you aren't suffering with sickness!
I am 8weeks+3.. and I am really stressing myself out with the lack of major symptoms.. I have nausea every morning until around 11am.. I'm shattered.. struggling sleeping.. sore boobs and occasional twinges and cramping (I'm also SO bloated I look a lot more pregnant than what I am) but when you read online it sounds like I should feel like I'm dying.. but I don't? I don't have my first midwife appointment until next Friday when I'll be 10weeks..
I'm obviously not wanting to feel like death but just concerned by how positive I feel! 😂 love reading through all of your comments.. it's like your in my brain!! x

S082018 · 09/07/2019 17:12

@Geo33 omg for the first few weeks all I wanted was carbs carbs and more carbs! I ate so much bread but definitely cutting back a bit now as I don't want to put on unnecessary weight. I won't thank myself in the long run. As a healthy snack I'm trying to eat nuts and seeds and fruit too. Less of the chocolates and sweets as much as I do want that too 🙈
Glad you managed to get yourself an appointment. I hope you have a lovely holiday too 😊 I think we have timed it well! An opportunity to relax the mind and body before we see what the next 7ish months has in store for us! X

S082018 · 09/07/2019 17:13

@djmbaker I feel like I could have written your post! I am 8+4 and I have my booking appt with the midwife next Thursday 😊

djmbaker · 09/07/2019 17:40

@djmbaker @S082018 I literally feel like I could have written that too! My main symptom is sensitive boobs- so much so I had to go to M&S and get these new wireless super padded soft bras that has changed my life when I sleep! Highly recommend for anyone who is struggling to turn in their sleep without their breasts aching! This bloated stomach looks like I could be 12 weeks already trying to do some light work outs! @WineOrGin you can have prawns and seafood that are thoroughly cooked but I’ve read that shellfish specifically have some toxins that if not sourced reliably can still have the toxins even after they’re cooked! I did have some prawns at about 6 weeks and just felt awfully guilty that there might be something wrong with them that i’d rather just not eat them! Seafood I’ve been eating but once a week- don’t want to overload baby with magnesium! My friends who are in their second pregnancy are so much more relaxed pretty much having a glass of wine here and there and eating seafood but this is my first so just want to be extra precautious!

Best of luck with your scan today don’t worry too they’re saying spotting is a symptom too lots of hugs hope it goes well Xx

@djmbaker the full days of feeling like you are dying may come yet. I was 8 weeks on Sunday, and Monday and yesterday were horrific. Monday morning I made scrambled eggs and a slice of brown bread in work and I only managed half the brown bread and some of the eggs, yesterday I managed brown bread with butter at breakfast, and a white bread sandwich with ham and mayo at lunch. Anything too fancy is turning my stomach. Today I woke up hungry, gagged a lot after drinking some water, but I have managed cheerios so far so I think I might be OK today, we will see later. I wish I never worried about not feeling sick until now.

Enjoy the holiday's @S082018 and @Geo33. I am off to Dubai at 20 weeks, I would much rather be going earlier than that (size wise) but DP booked it for my 30th birthday present, and we didn't know I was pregnant until the day after. Oh well!

Gorillaandme · 10/07/2019 19:10

Anyone looking after toddler as well as battling morning sickness? Really struggling. How you all coping?

djmbaker · 10/07/2019 19:38

@Geo33 @S082018
oooh they sound fab! I shall be making a trip to m&s for one of those. My boobs are agony 😂 I had a lovely chat with my friend and neighbour who is a midwife today and she totally reassured me.. she said there is no pregnancy the same, she has seen women have awful morning sickness and symptoms but also women having non whatsoever and all babies turned out just fine. I can't wait for my first scan to actually see it and know that everything is ok. It's a long wait isn't it... Finding it hard keeping it a secret as I'm quite small so my bloated tummy is impossible to hide 🤰🏻

Allhallowseve · 10/07/2019 20:12

Hi all I’m about 7+3 nausea is horrendous here . Stupidly had a cheese and pickle sandwich for lunch which didn’t agree with me so I won’t be eating pickle again anytime soon. I also ate dinner at work at 5pm I normally wait until I get home at 7 but I felt so sick and weak! Now my tummy is rumbling again !! I have never been so hungry. I have a 2 and a 4 year old so no rest here either.
First pregnancy I didn’t have any sickness , second I was sick as a dog like I am now really. I don’t remember being this hungry though.

Hi everyone can I join? Reading through your comments is making me feel better. I have virtually no symptoms this week other than heavy boobs and it's really stressing me out and getting me down I can't concentrate on anything else. I've had some old blood spotting too. I found out at 5 weeks and had a lot of cramping and trapped wind that week. This week nothing. I think I'm due on the leap year 🙄.

Dr273 · 11/07/2019 08:56

Can anyone help me RE medical appointments? I'm 8 weeks and haven't contacted a healthcare provider yet. I have anxiety and don't want to be shunted from pointless appointment to appointment - just want to do scans/injections and get out as fast as possible.
Does anyone know whether it's possible to skip initial doctor's appointment and go straight to dating scan with midwife in Oxfordshire? I'm not able to find out information (although I can find out that it is possible in some places). It seems like they expect you to go in and have a "chat" in order to find info out, and the idea of doing that practically sends me into a meltdown. :( Sorry to put a dampener on things.

Dr273 · 11/07/2019 08:57

@mrslaurenbrown I had a week where all my symptoms disappeared (week 6). ...They came back.

motherofthetoon · 11/07/2019 09:59

@Gorillaandme I'm struggling with a toddler and severe Hyperemesis too!
Currently in hospital, 2nd night of being admitted with lots of fluids and lots of antisickness.
Praying it's not for the whole way through again

X

Gorillaandme · 11/07/2019 11:19

@motherofthetoon aw I hope your feeling better soon. It's awful I'm wishing away the next 10 weeks I feel so awful I'm snappy with my toddler and then I feel guilty because usually I'm so calm.

ZeppyLoo · 11/07/2019 12:01

@Dr273
The first appointment is important- it's about your medical history and risk factors yes, but it's also a way of getting your consent for future screening tests including the scan. They explain to you the purpose of the scan and whether you wish to have the screening tests or not. They also take a blood sample and urine sample, as well as BMI and blood pressure- sadly I can't see any way you can't attend that, it's all important stuff. Can you take someone with you to the appointment if that helps your anxiety?

ZeppyLoo · 11/07/2019 12:02

@Dr273 oh and you may not need to see a doctor though- I booked straight in with the midwife. Sorry to hear you're worried xx

mrslaurenbrown · 11/07/2019 13:47

I'm brown spotting again today. Nothing on the pad but when I wipe. I have a deep ache down my right thigh as well. Has anyone else had this?

ImMeantToBeWorking · 11/07/2019 13:56

@WineOrGin that's great to hear that your scan and meeting the midwife went well. At the end of the day they are there as supports to you at such a special time in your life.

@motherofthetoon I hope you feel better soon Flowers

@mrslaurenbrown mine come and go too so don't be worried. Symptoms come and go, some days I am much worse than others. Don't be stressing.

Dr273 · 12/07/2019 17:48

Thanks @ZeppyLoo

I've heard if you take someone they will ask them to step outside in order to ask you about abuse. I think I'd find being isolated and asked about abuse v triggering.

@WineOrGin did you meet the midwife first when you had a scan? So glad to hear everything is okay!
