I found out last week (at two days past expected AF) that I'm pregnant - had a BFP on a First Response test. This is my third pregnancy since October last year. Works out that I'm due around the 3rd Feb 2020.

I've had two miscarriages - one in October 2018 at 12 weeks which resulted in surgery and another in February 2019, which ended at 6 weeks. I'm really quite nervous, but hopeful that this time is third time lucky. 🤞🏻🌈

Is anyone else due in Feb 2020? Are you having any symptoms?

Feeling really deflated. We told DH's mum and dad today at 6 weeks because we wanted to tell them in person and we won't see them now until the end of August.

MIL proceeded to tell us we were "brave" sharing our news so early and then reeled off a list of people she knew who had lost their babies.

It's made me feel really worried now. And upset that they weren't more excited. I hope my parents won't be the same in a few weeks time.

OccasionalNachos · 29/06/2019 20:20

@fluffybottom Sad that’s quite unpleasant. Were they even a bit excited?

fluffybottom · 29/06/2019 20:28

Sort of. MiL did say that she was so excited to be a nanny. FiL just said that he didn't want to be a grandad as it would mean he was old. Then they proceeded to talk about the holiday they'd just been on.

Funny people.

fluffybottom · 29/06/2019 20:31

I was just starting to feel calmer about everything too. I'm so anxious about things going wrong. My GP was lovely and reassuring and my work friend has been so helpful. Now I just feel anxious again.

OccasionalNachos · 29/06/2019 20:41

Oh love - they do sound quite strange! Maybe a bit overwhelmed & they’ll get better as time goes on?

Anxiety is horrible. I feel like I’m wishing time away until my scan in mid July. I’ll be nearly 13 weeks by then & it just feels so late! Midwife appt is next week and I have a long list of questions to ask them.

Gorillaandme · 29/06/2019 20:48

Hi all. Can I join. Due 22nd Feb at moment but think it's looking more like 27th when I have scan. Any leap day due babies I'm hoping they aren't born 29th 😆

fluffybottom · 29/06/2019 21:07

Thank you @OccasionalNachos
This is their first grandchild so perhaps they do need a bit of time for it to sink in.

We're going for an early scan next week when I'll be 7 weeks. I just want to see a heartbeat and then I know I'll be fine.

OccasionalNachos · 29/06/2019 21:44

Fingers crossed for you @fluffybottom - I’m sure it will be fine Smile

Anyone else struggling with hay fever? I am not usually badly affected but the very high pollen count & not taking antihistamine is not nice at the moment. Have been lying down with a cold flannel on my eyes this evening!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 29/06/2019 23:34

@fluffybottom my dh parents had a similar reaction when we told them about the pregnancy with our son. I felt the same as you. They’ve turned out to be amazing grandparents and have mentioned a few times how shocked they were when we told them. I put their odd reaction down to that. It is hurtful though. I’d try to put it out your mind. You’re building your family & that’s what matters.

fluffybottom · 30/06/2019 10:50

Thank you @Gingerbreadlady1 , I think that's what has happened here. Feeling better about it this morning.

@OccasionalNachos someone mentioned piriton on the Facebook group as being okay. I think eye drops and sprays are okay. A pharmacist will be able to advise. It's rotten feeling so unwell.

ronniemipperton · 30/06/2019 11:04

Last summer when we told the in laws we were expecting my MIL responded as expected but then when she said “isn’t it exciting?” to FIL his response was a grumpy “it’s none of my business.” I was a little bit taken aback! Haven’t bothered telling them this time, not in a hurry to do so that’s for sure!

motherofthetoon · 30/06/2019 18:24

Hi everyone! Looks like I'm due my second monster around 21st February

Had such mental HG in first PG but no sickness at all this time (I mean there's still time but hey!) it's making me worried !!

motherofthetoon · 30/06/2019 18:33

@tisonlymeagain sorry no idea how to private message you but I would like to be in the Facebook group

How you getting on @wineorgin? I think spotting is quite common but if any more than spotting I’d call the EPU. Hope you’re okay.

OceanPearl · 01/07/2019 13:45

I’ve had the same @WineOrGin. Last night I had some pink blood when I wiped, I’ve just had a scan and everything is fine! Heartbeat is really strong and everything looks as it should. I feel so much better since having the scan so if you’re worried I would definitely book one. They’ve put my due date as the 15th Feb Smile

Junobug · 01/07/2019 16:46

I thought I'd join to say hi. We've just, very unexpectedly found out I'm expecting dc4 in Feb. I think I'm about 8 weeks but I'm still breastfeeding a 12 month old so my cycle wasn't regular.
It's taken a lot of tears getting used to the idea but I think I'm getting there. I usually have quite bad sickness though and I've had no symptoms at all which is weird.
I hope everyone is coping in the heat.

Gorillaandme · 01/07/2019 19:38

@Junobug I'm still breastfeeding my 15 month old daughter and 6 weeks pregnant. Have you been pregnant well breastfeeding before?

ATHOMPSON8812 · 01/07/2019 20:30

@Gorillaandme I'm still breastfeeding my 17 month old little boy. I've had two miscarriages while feeding him (they say it's highly unlikely it's linked) and I'm 6 weeks pregnant now.

Junobug · 01/07/2019 20:42

Gorrillaandme no I haven't. I've stopped just before getting pregnant before. It's making ny nipples incredibly sensitive and isn't a pleasant feeling at all, especially when I'm tires. I can't explain it really, it almost makes my skin crawl. But i really don't want to give up before he's ready.
ATHOMPSON8812 I'm sorry for your previous losses.

Gorillaandme · 01/07/2019 21:02

@ATHOMPSON8812 sorry for your losses. I had an early miscarriage before this pregnancy so was very worried this time but so far so good.
@Junobug yeah mine feel the same I just want her to finish feeding as it almost feels like sharp burning but my friend is 14 weeks pregnant and feeding her 11 month old and she said it got better after first few weeks.

S082018 · 02/07/2019 07:58

Just checking in to see how everybody is doing? Haven't had a look on here for a few days so haven't quite caught up!

I don't know if I should be concerned about my lack of symptoms. I'm 7+2 and only really have very sore and heavy boobs, tiredness (although this is getting better), an increase in CM and waves of nausea that come and go. No real sickness yet and no food cravings or aversions. I have noticed the urge to pee slightly more this week too come to think of it.

Anybody else not had any sickness yet? Strange to think a part of me wouldn't mind getting a bit of sickness as I'd take that as a good sign! 🙈
I have an early scan booked in on Saturday when I'll be 7+6 so keeping my fingers crossed 🤞🏽

Hope everybody is keeping well!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 02/07/2019 09:53

Hi @S082018 I’ve not had any nausea or sickness at all. I’m 8 weeks and have a scan tomorrow so fingers crossed. I didn’t get nausea till second trimester with my first so hoping it’s nothing to worry about. Sounds like you have a fair few symptoms tbh

S082018 · 02/07/2019 09:59

@Gingerbreadlady1 Good luck for your scan tomorrow!
I think it's more the lack of sickness that is concerning me. Having said that, my sister was very similar, no sickness at all and had days of nausea on and off and how has a happy and healthy 10 month old! Trying to remember that not everybody is the same but it's so hard not to worry!

Gorillaandme · 02/07/2019 10:52

@S082018 my mum had three of us and not a day of sickness. Some people feel amazing pregnant and some people feel like shit. Everyone has different symptoms. Last pregnancy I was sick 7-22weeks believe me you do not want it 😆 I'm 6 weeks now and feeling the waves of nausea coming on.
