nappyaddict · 23/07/2007 00:32

oh yes i like savannah. and mckenna but is a bit american so probably not to everyone's taste.

bramblina · 23/07/2007 00:32

I'm Lucy and I'm 30, didn't know it was becomming "common" I've only known a few, ages about 65, 26, 15 and 7 so covers most generations really. I always liked my name till teenage years, thought it was childish, then got to 16 and liked it again. Rare IMHO/IME...
SIL and peer are both Jessica yet have shortened it to Jess, they both dislike it. I think a good test of a name is when someone who has it, likes it, and IMO that doesn't happen very often.
My sister is Laura Lee (not double barrelled) and has always loved it.

Imogen is lovely IMO
Vanessa
Orla/Orlaith
Beth/any
Dawn
Monica
LOVE Darcey, sadly our surname ends ey so sounds rediculous. Then again so does Lucy but I'm stuck with it!

nappyaddict · 23/07/2007 00:34

harrypotterdies · 23/07/2007 00:37

theslownorris · 23/07/2007 06:21

I have 4 girls (we were struggling for names by the time we got to no4! ). Their first and middle names are

Catriona (pronounced Catrina)
Jane
Kiara
Lauren
Melissa
Meriel
Natalie
Rose
Seren
(and mine's in there too)

This is quite a good names website too www.behindthename.com/

nappyaddict · 23/07/2007 09:58

is kiara - kee- ah - ra?

theslownorris · 23/07/2007 10:37

We pronounce it as Keira, but we didn't like that spelling and we didn't want any more names beginning with "C" (dh's name begins with it too).

alicet · 23/07/2007 11:52

Hello Mum2sam - I have a sam too! We find girls names really easy but are having a boy!!!!

On your choices...

Sophie - I love this name (is my sister's) but if you want something unusual I would say no as there are loads where I live
Lucie - Love this - I would personally spell it Lucy as otherwise she will spend her whole life getting it spelt wrong. Just my feeling though - nothing wrong with spelling like this if you prefer it
Jessica - ditto Sophie - loads of them but a lovely name
Jessie - I prefer this to Jessica. Lovely
Libby - Unusual. Like this but not as much as others
Summer - think this is the most unusual of the ones you have. Really pretty
imogen - Love this but personally find it a bit of a mouthful and not so keen on the shortened versions (I prefer names you can't shorten generally). Maybe as a middle name?

Good luck!
