Ridiculous things that made you cry when pregnant?

Trying to be a bit more lighthearted about my hormonal mood swings (which seem worse at 16 weeks!)

So far I've cried at:

  • my friend saying my scan picture looked funny
  • someone looking at my stomach on the tube
  • my dp eating my packet of chipsticks
-remembering I couldn't eat a soft cheese my mil bought me -the fact I'm pregnant and always wanted to be pregnant but right now don't feel massively pregnant!

Hopefully not just me GrinBlush

My then DP put black pepper on my scrambled eggs. I love black pepper, but just didn't want it that day and he was supposed to telepathically know that and he didn't and the eggs were RUINED.

I also used to drop stuff a lot when I was pg. I dropped a cup of tea and my DDad had a little chuckle about it. Shut myself in the bathroom and sobbed for half an hour about that one. Oh and the time he called me Tubbs, despite being a good 4 stone overweight himself.
Despite all of that, he was truly the bestest DDad ever.

Saw a three legged dog in the park. Burst in to tears. He was fine, running around all happy, but I was inconsolable. My friend thought I was completely mad.

IncyWincy90 · 14/05/2019 21:50

I was close to tears when my husband cooked a bacon sandwich for me and covered it in brown sauce 😭. I was so looking forward to that sandwich! Apparently it was because he was so tired from all of my pregnancy snoring that he forgot I didn’t like it, so then I really did wail.

Lairydea · 14/05/2019 21:53

I asked my husband for a chicken sandwich from McDonald's (he was out and passing one, I was hungry after puking so much I'd lost weight during the first trimester and was still feeling a bit sicky, I could only eat a specific thing on any given day). He went to the garage for a rubbish, stale chicken sandwich. I burst into tears and drove myself to McDonald's and sobbed my order into the drive through...

I bought the kids some shower gel with a picture of a unicorn on it/unicorn themed name and then used it myself, realised that it didnt have glitter in it and cried in the shower.

Why I wanted glittery shower gel at 33 I dont know Hmm but I did.

Bellaphant · 14/05/2019 22:51

My oh didn't want the chips I wasn't going to finish. He always wants extra food. I felt so rejected!! (30 weeks)

Chinks123 · 14/05/2019 23:09

So many...

Last night I was crying laughing at something on telly and suddenly my tears turned into genuine Kim K heartbroken sobs. When asked what was wrong I replied “my face thought my happy tears were sad tears and now I’m so sad.” Blush

Dp looked both amused and very scared.

Foxmuffin · 14/05/2019 23:10

Not being able to get my socks on because I was too fat and couldn’t reach.
A song on the radio.
My DH saying I was needy (I cried all bloody night).

MrFlibblesEyes · 15/05/2019 09:39

I was in the car and 'isn't she lovely' by stevie wonder came on the radio. I managed to hold back the tears until the second verse came on, the bit about being heaven blessed (I'm not religious, it just took us a really long time to get pregnant) and I had to make DH turn it off! He thought it was hilarious 😂 I'm actually tearing up as I'm reliving it...

firstimemamma · 15/05/2019 09:42

Annoying shoppers in Sainsbury's.

I got through the front door and sobbed!

Grumpymug · 15/05/2019 09:55

Up until I was pregnant, nothing really made me cry at all after the teen angst years, and then while a few months pg I watched Titanic (on video I think too, that I'd reserved from Woolworths - yes I'm that old) I was still living at home and everyone was convinced that there was something terribly wrong. I sobbed when Jack didn't come back, I sobbed when they found her, I sobbed when she hid from her fiancé, then when she died, then the staircase scene.
Since then I pretty much cry at anything sad/emotive. I'm a complete 💦

Balooo123 · 15/05/2019 10:03

@Chinks123 Grin this is what I was like the other day 24 weeks pregnant and my DH made me laugh so much I was crying which then turned into huge fat sad sobbing mess he just looked at me as if I'd lost it GrinGrin

greystar30 · 15/05/2019 11:03

DP put his favourite aftershave on (which I'd bought him). It turned my stomach so I cried.

Gillian1980 · 15/05/2019 11:28

Oh god, I’ve cried at EVERYTHING in both pregnancies!

The most random one this time was crying because I didn’t have any mashed potatoes. Also because my local shop had run out of prawn mayo sandwiches.

I cried for every single emotion. My poor boss was very sympathetic, bless him.

Cantthinkofausername1990 · 15/05/2019 12:21

Ed Sheeran video for perfect - to see how much love there is.

Michael leaving the US office, cried for days after.

About to cry in the maternity hospital cos I've been waiting for so long to be seen by the doctor Smile

fee1234 · 15/05/2019 12:43

I cried when I saw a blackbird with a worm in its mouth because I was thinking about the hungry chicks in the nest waiting for it 😂

Also felt emotional when my mum said her neighbours cut down a tree with a magpie nest in it.

Seems to be a theme of birds here 🤨

PugPupsMum · 15/05/2019 14:03

I cried because DH told off our dog and he went and sat in his little doggie bed with a sad face :(

Magpiefeather · 15/05/2019 14:07

Because there was an advert on tv for ice cream and I really wanted some. We didn’t have any, DH offered to go to the shop and it was closed 😭😭😭

Bluebell9 · 15/05/2019 14:34

@Chinks123 and @Balooo123, me too. DP made me laugh so much the other day that I had tears rolling down my face, then I started with real tears and couldn't stop. When DP laughed at me, I just cried more!

secretlyhermione · 15/05/2019 14:50

I cried yesterday because my friend made my favourite strawberry cream cake from scratch and I couldn't eat it because of the cream (he used raw eggs).

Livpool · 15/05/2019 15:26

A quote about Winne the Pooh and Piglet!

I cried yesterday because a lovely station porter asked if I would like help getting my bags on the train.
Also cried when my dad told the family dog off. Anything sets me off at the moment - especially when I'm tired!

smitch82 · 15/05/2019 15:42

I cried when Tiger Roll won the Grand National because she was described as a small horse. That's when we discussed I should do a test and found out I was pregnant!
