Ridiculous things that made you cry when pregnant?

Trying to be a bit more lighthearted about my hormonal mood swings (which seem worse at 16 weeks!)

So far I've cried at:

  • my friend saying my scan picture looked funny
  • someone looking at my stomach on the tube
  • my dp eating my packet of chipsticks
-remembering I couldn't eat a soft cheese my mil bought me -the fact I'm pregnant and always wanted to be pregnant but right now don't feel massively pregnant!

Hopefully not just me GrinBlush

Oh Dear ! This is cringe worthy, embarrassing and really sad.Blush
and I can't believe I'm writing it. Here goes...

Very heavily pregnant I cried because hubby had previous sexual partners before me!!
I mean, it stopped him in his tracks, he genuinely did not know whether laugh at me or what to do and tears were streaming down my face.
We laugh now, I don't think he would've dared then !
The shame, the shame...SmileWink

Hugless bloody Douglas. I picked it up in Waterstones whilst out shopping with my mum. Made an absolute sobbing state of myself.

Prequelle · 14/05/2019 19:33

I cried lying in bed grabbing my new thigh fat and flapping it around

SingingSands · 14/05/2019 19:43

There was a particular Andrex advert on tv when I was last pg, that set me off every time.

Yep, crying over toilet roll..!

Beckyv88 · 14/05/2019 19:46

The worst one for me was a nightmare I had involving my husband, which was actually very unrealistic and crazy but felt so real and I was crying non stop for ages, and just thinking about it even days later I would breakdown in tears.

Ridethewaves · 14/05/2019 19:50

I cried today at work whilst doing online first aid training. V embarrassing!!

Eliza9919 · 14/05/2019 19:52

I was in tears reading the thread earlier about the woman that has to take her dog to be pts.

That my dp is so lovely.

Because the daisies by the side of the road on the drive home were pretty.

And a few other times for reasons I've forgotten. Probably videos on Facebook.

WhatALearningCurve · 14/05/2019 19:59

Whilst pregnant I was watching Call the Midwife. I can't describe the hysterical mess my partner came home to when I was watching the Africa special with the boy whose parents had died and he was responsible for his little brother. He had carried him on his back from one village to another because he through the polio vaccine was going to be able to make him walk again 😩😩😩

ChrisPrattsFace · 14/05/2019 19:59

Mostly been a bit teary.
One thing that made me cry was those boil in the bag new potatoes? They were still hard but edible and I just cried about a hard potato for like, thirty minutes.

WhatALearningCurve · 14/05/2019 20:01

I'm aware that story line is genuinely heart breaking but the state I got into - my partner and my mum couldn't stop laughing. Think Kim K ugly tears.

I also once cried because my 9 year old niece had drank Ribena I'd put in the fridge. It's really hard to explain pregnancy hormones to a child......

Tobebythesea · 14/05/2019 20:02

When I burnt some toast!

DameSylvieKrin · 14/05/2019 20:09

Also Call the Midwife but the Barbara episodes. Not only while watching them but days and weeks later when thinking of them.
I‘ve also just bawled at the dog pts thread (the comments from vets) and I haven’t been pregnant for 7 months. However, I am still bfing and that must do something to your hormones, right?
(Please don’t anyone else read the dog pts thread.)

A butterfly hit my windscreen when driving, splat...I cried so much I ran over a rabbit...had to call dh to come get me!

MummytoCSJH · 14/05/2019 20:40

Wreck-it-Ralph Grin

BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil · 14/05/2019 20:44

Jesus, so many!!

One that stands out was the wrigleys chewing gum ad c. 2007 where they sang 'the more we get together, the happier we'll be'. Ex came back to floods of tears and me saying theyre so happy... smiling... lovely teeth...

Would not have been so bad if it didnt happen every time the ad came on.

poorbuthappy · 14/05/2019 20:55

I robot with will smith. It's gone down in family folklore now when I wailed to this film.

Gintonic · 14/05/2019 21:01

I cried when I saw some dead caterpillars, because they would never get to have a life or turn into moths

Bambamber · 14/05/2019 21:07

Tinkerbell got me the other day

And when my husband lovingly cooked me sweet potatoes chips instead of the normal chips. Bless him he then went out to the chippy but by the time he put them in front of me I felt too sick to eat them, so I cried again

Drogonssmile · 14/05/2019 21:17

I went off chicken but cooked a chicken dish anyway for myself and DH. Then cried because I couldn't eat it and felt sorry for it Hmm I sat there with the food in front of me, sobbing my heart out and DH trying very hard to keep a straight face and be sympathetic.

Drogonssmile · 14/05/2019 21:20

Oh and when very newly pregnant with my second I stupidly watched les miserables (the film) and HOWLED all the way through. I think I scared poor DS1 Blush

Langrish · 14/05/2019 21:22

God, everything. Most dramatically, balling my eyes out when my MIL ate my vegetables in a Chinese restaurant, one of the few dishes that didn’t make me barf. And she had so many to choose from ..... 😫

RedWineAllMine · 14/05/2019 21:24

My fiancé telling me I'm going to have to cut back on getting my hair done, and I cried saying I don't want to look like someone off Benefits Britain 😂🙄

SospanFrangipan · 14/05/2019 21:25

Random song lyrics on the radio, songs I have never had any emotional attachment to before!

DramaAlpaca · 14/05/2019 21:27

When we were on holiday at MIL's house I cried all day because I didn't want to go home Confused Fortunately, having had a few DC herself back in the day she understood.

DonnaDarko · 14/05/2019 21:36

DP grabbed my last bit of chocolate ☹️ I cried out of anger

3 years later, it still makes me angry!
