Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Bodkin · 28/09/2007 15:56

Fettle - I soooo know what you mean about being addicted to giving birth and wishing I could do it again [lunatic alert] But like you say the euphoria afterwards is amazing. and sooo lovely being all tucked up in bed together afterwards, both DP and baby sleeping. I couldn't sleep a wink (after either birth) and just lay there looking at my baby and just being amazed and watching all those funny little faces they pull....

Yes, my DDs table manners are pretty appalling too, but I suppose I expect too much of her. Really tried to get her to use cutlery instead of always using her fingers, but it's hopeless. I suppose she won't be doing it when she's 16, but you never know...

Your garden plans sound really exciting! Love the sound of a slide - bit dangerous with a toddler (well, he will be one day)around though?

Greedy - really hope things happen soon for you, the waiting around is painful isn't it! Wow - your DD is a giant isn't she! Do they think No. 3 is going to be on the large side.... what weights were your other two?

Ooooo, Honey, I love a good squeeze! But DD won't let me near them, alas. Just hope they don't spread to her face - did your DSs?

Right, back to grafting at Playdoh. we are making a box of playdoh chocolates. it is surprisingly enjoyable

greedygreedyguzzler · 28/09/2007 16:20

bodders and fettle - you are both MAD!!!!! but i kind of felt the same after having ds!!! after dd i said "never again!!!"

both my kids were quite small actually bodders........ds was only 6lb 5oz and 8 days late so started off on the 2nd centile!!! dd was 1 day overdue and 7lb 7oz so bang on average and started on 50th centile!!! by 6 months she was completely off the graphs and has been ever since!!!! ds has always been (since about 4 months) on the 91st centile!!! think this one may be bigger....but hey what do i know!!!

i am bored now and even more fed up after checking the due in oct thread and seeing even more mums have popped!!!!!
better go and cook something vaguely healthy for the kids tea i suppose!!! just plonked them in front of the tv cos they have been so good today.........sure you aren't supposed to use TV as a reward!!!.............must be something wrong with doing that!

HOPEFULLY......next time i post on here i will be a mum of three!!! ...............probably not though!!! (i am trying to do that tempting fate reverse psychology thing!!!........as if the baby is listening and thinking " oh ok i will come out tonight then just to prove mummy wrong!!"

see.......i REALLY am losing it!!!!

fettleandbabyfettle · 28/09/2007 18:05

be nice greedy!!!! You've still got all that lovely pushing and breathing and gas and air to go - you lucky thing !!!

Do feel for you, when I look at Toby stretched out on my lap - can't quite believe that technically he could still be inside me for another 10 days!!! Where did all the rest of my internal organs go?!!!

Have good evenings all
xxx

seaside72 · 28/09/2007 21:09

greedy - hang in there hon - she will be coming out soon to meet you - LOL about yours and DH's excitement over discharge!

fettle - sorry I think you asked about my dog in a previous post and I did not answer - actually he is doing a lot better thanks - now he is on steriods (cue lots of jokes from DH and I about buying him a bench press and some free weights ) so he is eating again and generally a lot better - hopefully it will last esp as we are about to drop him at the dogsitters for 2 weeks next weekend (paying for accommdation for our 2 dogs while we go away is almost as much as paying for our own hotels !!
Garden designs sound fab! We so need to get on top of our garden - it is an acre of unruly shrubs and grass - I am desperate for a massive tree house - but your slide plan sounds fab! (just put a stairgate on the top until bubs is old enough!! )

BTW - boiled egg in tom soup - bleurghhhhh

Better go - jnr is kicking the laptop edge!

sleep well everyone (esp Toby, Theo and Isla and all the grad bubs )

Rainbowdays · 28/09/2007 21:35

Greedy - can I come and flump here with you? I am fed up at the other end of the pg journey - with nausia puke time, and today just to reassure myself I went to gp to get her to listen for heartbeat and she could not even find it - arrrggg. Still at least we will both be out of our misery in a couple of weeks time!!!!!! Sorry, of course you are currently breathing steadily through great contractions and shortly to push!

Chooster · 29/09/2007 20:00

I kind of know what you mean Bodkin and Fettle - I miss that stage when it all kicks off and you know the little on is on its way! Once you've got the little one in or arms it is amazing isn't it . I'm sure someone mentioned broodiness the other day and I'm sure there is something wrong in wanting to do it all again when LO is only 11 weeks . But strangely I've been thinking about how exciting it was to get that BFP . I dont think we'll go for it though - DH is fairly adamant that 2 is enough for us. I do agree but still.... when the LO plops out.... Ahhh, happy days . Wonder if Greedy is doing that at this very moment .

By the way, heard from MrsMc - she doesn't have Addisons and said that Spain was 27 derees and sunny . There's no need for that is there?

Thanks for the good 'sleep' wishes Seaside. Theo went from 9pm to 5am so it obviously worked - Can you say that every night please??? At the moment I'm always trying to find the magic ingredient that makes him sleep well. He's zonked on my lap now so Im going to put him to bed a little earlier than normal.

Fettle - I reckon it sounds like you are doing well with DD. Max's table manner are a little to be desired too and he fidgets constantly. But I reckon that will all come in time and I think if you try to push it all too early then dinner / meals become no fun whereas it should ne nice for a family to sit down to dinner together. As long as she is not being too bad then maybe let it go for a while. At least that my two pennies worth

Anyway, off for an 'adult' evening. That sounds like I'm going off to watch porn doesn't it (like I could be bothered ), I mean just me and DH and maybe a glass of wine

greedygreedyguzzler · 30/09/2007 08:59

still here!!! not at all fed up!!! obviously i was wrong about this one coming early!!!! on time would be nice now!!!!! ds is SO expecting the baby to pop out today i dont want to disappoint him!!! off to lakeside as soon as i am dressed for a bit more retail therapy!!! hopefully traipsing round the shops might bring it on!!!!

rainbowdays!!! i can really sympathise with you. i remember getting to about 14/15 wks and my morning sickness was at its worst. everyone kept saying "oh it will go after 12 wks" and i kept thinking "well, no actually.it hasn't" i can remember feeling so rough that each day i just felt like i couldn't wait to go back to bed in the evening and get onto the next day so i was one step closer to it all going away! i really hope you start feeling better soon.

if its any consolation, you obviously forget about it really quickly cos all these crazy loons on here are missing being pg already!!!! HOW DAFT ARE THEY HEY?!!!

better go! in the middle of an anatomy lesson with my kids!!!!!..........for some reason ds and dd have just got out their human body book and so we are having a quick lesson on veins and arteries!!!!

no doubt i will be back on later or tomorrow still big and fat!!!

fettleandbabyfettle · 30/09/2007 11:54

Happy due date, Greedy!!!

Back later when have more time!

xxx

greedygreedyguzzler · 30/09/2007 16:52

cheers fettlepetal!!

Ready · 30/09/2007 16:58

Greedy - just wanted to wish you all the best this week. Will be thinking ofyou, and looking forward to some pictures

fettleandbabyfettle · 30/09/2007 17:19

Waves to Ready!!!

great news bout Mrsmc - of her weather!!!

Greedy - no waters breaking while shopping then??? Come on Marcy we want to see your pictures - we're all impatient in behalf of your mummy!!!

we ok here, but getting bit worried bout toby jaundice - he's not really getting any better and starting to worry that it might be getting worse. But he's feeding regularly, weeing and pooing in the correct colours!! And is awake some of the time now, so hopefully it is just a combination of being born a bit early and being breatfed - DD had it bad enough for light therapy, but every midwife we've seen says it ok as he is feeding. But then we've not seen the same MW twice since we left hosp so the can't compare. He sleeps in the window all day to get daylight on him. have to go back for nother check-up on wed - if still yellow need to go to peadiatrician for tests nothing more serious causing it - now just don't know if it is getting worse - can cause brain damage if levels get too high. This is the part of parenting I don't enjoy - the constant worry!

Sorry to pour it all out to you - didn't want to but need to get it out of my system as DH is starting to worry which makes me even more panicky!!!

Is it normal when baby is awake that they just lie looking around them not really moving - or moving very gently? People laugh when i say I worry that he doesn't cry very much, but it is concerning me? But then i suppose i'd worry if he cried all the time too wouldn't I?

Sorry for my selfish post

big hugs to all
xxx

honeyapple · 30/09/2007 19:13

evening

Fettle- hope little Toby is ok, i'm sure he is, but it is easy to worry. If the MW are happy, then I think you should be too. But of course dont hesitate to go to your GP if you are concerned.

Greedy- Still PG then? You know we should have a lakeside meet up one day(I live about 40mins away on a good traffic day) Hope you had a good shopping trip- what were you getting?

Chooster- give it a couple of years and DH might come round to the idea of another LO... Congrats on a great nights sleep from Theo.

Rainbowdays- hiya lovely. Hope you start feeling chirpier soon. How many weeks are you?

DP is away with work for 2 nights so hopefully I wont be going into labour just yet. Also I have to make it to 37 wks before I can do it at home, apparently even 36 +6 and you'd have to go to hospital.

Greedy- btw i have never actually sucked snot out of any of my children! Just a suggestion for Bodders though...

I'm hungry but I dunno what i fancy and cant be arsed to cook anything major... been staring in the fridge looking for inspiration, to no avail...

Chooster · 30/09/2007 19:19

The constant worry is awful isn't it fettle. Its only now that Theo is responding to us that I feel more relaxed. He didn't smile until he was about 7 or even 8 weeks and I'd read that no smiling by 12 weeks may be an early sign of autism - so i was worrying about that a bit. Silly really as I was ignoring every other sign like not wanting to be cuddled etc which he loves . Anyway, all I'm trying to say is I think it is natural to worry especially with hormones / lack of sleep and just generally being a mum . If its any help Theo doesn't cry at all... well, if I think about it he cried first thing this morning cos he was hungry and then again tonight as he didn't want to get out the bath. Apart from that no other tears, and I don't remember him moving much as a wee baby? . Perhaps express your concerns when you are checked on Wednesday but as a rule I'd say if the MW / HV aren't worrying then don't get too stressed just yet. Even if they can't see it getting worse they can still see the level its currently at??? Hope you are doing OK...

So, D-day is slowly coming to an end Greedy? Hope DS isn't too disappointed!! Unless your are pushing right now

Chooster · 30/09/2007 19:21

Hi honey - crossed with you... Good luck with dinner inspiration. I've no idea what to have either.

fettleandbabyfettle · 30/09/2007 20:29

Thanks Chooster - makes me feel a lot better that you have a non-crying baby too!!!

Honey - you keep your legs crossed for a few more days yet!!!

we also had the what for supper dilemma - opted for chinese[oops]!! DD had had very yummy cheese and beans on toast! Should of had that with her, but chinese is yummy!!!!!

How's the pushing going greeds!!!

oh oh - have to tell you all - finally at 32 years old, I'm going to be Mary in a Natvitty play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've never been Mary - always too tall to play her - had to be shepherds, angels and innkeepers at school!! So proud!!!
Well actually the truth is, we went to Church this morning and as the youngest member of the congregation, Toby has been earmarked as Jesus, which consequently makes us Mary and Joseph!!! [can't wait until DH's army friend's find out!!!] Have to find a role for DD - did Mary and Joseph have an illegimate older DD?! Couldn't quite believe that they are making plans for Christmas already, but i suppose it is October on Monday.

xxx

fettleandbabyfettle · 30/09/2007 20:30

That should obviously be Nativity play - one-handed typing is tricky!!!

fettleandbabyfettle · 30/09/2007 20:32

Sorry me again, just had to ask if anyone had read the thread about catching a nipple in the car boot on the breast & bottle feeding section?!

[ouch]!! But have to ask, how???!!!

honeyapple · 30/09/2007 20:52

Must be stonking big nips i'd say!

well for supper i have eaten...

a mango
some oven chips and salad

and just put half a forest fruit strudel in the oven to have later with ice cream...

can you tell DP isnt here?!

Chooster and fettle- be thankful your little boys arent big on crying! I want one of those please. My DS was an awful bawler as a tiny baby and it was horrible. Every time you put him down he started crying .

fettleandbabyfettle · 30/09/2007 20:59

why not whole strudle?? you've more self-control than I have!! Sounds pretty healthy supper there - fruit, salad, carbs - no protein though [fettle wags her finger at honey!!!]

honeyapple · 30/09/2007 21:03

Isnt there protein in ice cream?

Chooster · 30/09/2007 21:07

Mmm, I had a bowl of shreddies . Thats not particularly balanced is it Fettle. So, Mary eh!!! Glad you are getting to realise a life long dream . Thing is how does Toby top being Jesus by the age of 3 months? Surely that will be the peak of his acting career?

Nipple? In a car boot? You've got to wonder eh...

Hope you get a non-cryer this time Honey

Right am off for a bath for the first time since Theo was born... Obviously I've had showers (Honest!!!), just not had the chance to lounge in the bath, but both DS's are in bed and DH out so what the hell

fettleandbabyfettle · 30/09/2007 21:13

Yup protein in milk - therefore has to be some in ice-cream - was just thinking that Honey!! You're excused!!! Enjoy the strudel - I want some!!

Chooster - cereal & milk fine! Just need some fruit & veg to enjoy in the bath!!! - I've had quite a few baths as I was paranoid about my stitches staying clean - have to have them when DD is not around though, or else she just strips off and jumps in with me!! At least there is more room without my bump! Caught her doing an impression of me the other day trying to get out of the bath when I was pregnant - cheeky minx!! But it was a very good impression!!!

Sleep well all - off up to bed now.

Here's to non-crying babies for all of us on this thread!! have to be careful though, DD didn't cry much for the first 6 weeks, but then screamed all day every day for the next 10 weeks!!!

xxx

Chooster · 30/09/2007 21:21

Bollocks and crap... No hot water... .

And, just to get it off my chest, DH and I have rowed again this evening. He took DS1 round to his mums to say hi but then promptly fell out with her about something stupid. He then came home and took it out on DS1 by getting really cross with him for normal toddler behaviour (he was whingeing because he wanted a chocolate treat) which of course made me cross with DH. So he left tonight without even saying good bye. What a cock... Sorry, but he's behaving like a childish idiot . AND THERE IS NO KNOBBING HOT WATER.

honeyapple · 30/09/2007 21:28

Oh Chooster- poor you, what a pain in the bum... boil a few kettles maybe? Sorry that your DH is being a div.

fettle- I've only managed half of the half of the strudel...

Think I'll have an early night too...

x

honeyapple · 30/09/2007 21:41

mmmm... just found space for the other bit of strudel, feeling slightly sick now.
