Congrats @workinprogressmum 😁

Knickersononeshead · 13/03/2019 10:57

I'm a right emotional mess today, ready about Dunblane, one of my dds is the same age as those poor kids and I can't stop breaking down in tears. Bloody hormones

workinprogressmum · 13/03/2019 10:57

Thank you @Mintypea5! Still in shock x

Mintypea5 · 13/03/2019 11:00

@Knickersononeshead me too. I was about 9 at the time at vaguely remember it but I’ve just been reading a thread on here and it’s had me in floods of tears. I think I’ll hug my DS1 that little bit tighter tonight

thumper59 · 13/03/2019 11:03

@Mintypea5 yeah most places say it's normal rather then abnormal. The general rule of thumb seems to be to not worry unless it's red and a lot of cramping, I'll just keep an eye on it. It's just a worrying time isn't it and horrible not being in the know. Thankyou, im at work but luckily don't have a very physical job, just stressful! X

Littleseed · 13/03/2019 11:03

Aww @workinprogressmum Flowers

DillingersMoll · 13/03/2019 11:59

Hi all 👏🏻
Oops! Just realised that I posted in the old thread. Anyhoo, I have had my digital bfp this morning. It feels so much more real now!

Age 34 Baby #2 Due 11/11/18

Due November 2019 Continued
Mintypea5 · 13/03/2019 12:15

@DillingersMoll due date twins! I have an 8.5 month old so we’re in similar positions 😊

DillingersMoll · 13/03/2019 12:33

@Mintypea5 That's brilliant! ☺️
How are you feeling about the small gap?
I go back to work in a fortnight, god knows how they're going to take the news!

Mintypea5 · 13/03/2019 12:37

@DillingersMoll part of me thinks I must be mad (DS2 has decided sleeping is not for him right now and I’m exhausted) but part of me is glad to get it over in one block. I like the idea of them being close in age. How are you feeling about it?

I’m back at work in about 2 weeks as well. Not sure if I’ll mention it straight away or wait until 12 week scan is done and all is ok.

DillingersMoll · 13/03/2019 12:55

@Mintypea5 I'm liking the idea of them being close in age too. And also getting it all done in one block lol. My dd has decided that 5:30am is now the best time for her to get up, so the days are a bit longer than they have been.
I'm going to have to tell work as soon as I go back. Or possibly just before. I'm a support worker and there's a risk of the clients being violent. I think I was 7 weeks when I told them with dd. There's already someone else who's pregnant and another ttc. There'll be no staff left at this rate!

Mintypea5 · 13/03/2019 13:00

@DillingersMoll very sensible to tell them then. My role is office based but I can see it being a small issue that I’d be there 7ish months before going off on maternity again. I’m planning on a year this time so trying to decide if I should request a different job one that matters less if I’m not there long

QforCucumber · 13/03/2019 13:14

Oh Wow Minty and Dillingers

My Ds is 3 next week and I'm worried about having 2 Grin wasn't sure if a good age gap or not!

Pollypocket5 · 13/03/2019 13:19

Hi ladies.

Sorry for all the questions as you can see I'm quite clueless to all of this. I am having a scan next Sunday where I'll be 7+2, will I be able to hear a heartbeat?

Mintypea5 · 13/03/2019 13:24

@Pollypocket5 it really depends. I’ve had a heartbeat at 6 weeks and then not seen one until later a different time. I would think you will be able to tho. ❤️

PrayingandHoping · 13/03/2019 14:23

Just had the midwife phone me, made it feel very real!!

She was really lovely. I'm on a county border so her first question was where did I want to go (which was great as we didn't want to go to one hospital as we had such a stressful horrid time there doing nhs fertility stuff before going private). Then we chatted through the transition from private back to nhs and she booked to come and visit me at home in a couple of weeks and gave me her mobile number in case I need her before hand. What a lovely lady!!

Just now to have my scan next Thursday and it will all feel very real 😁🤞🤞🤞

Littleseed · 13/03/2019 14:29

Wow @PrayingandHoping! She sounds so lovely! I hope we all get blessed with a midwife like that. Halo

It's so fantastic she didn't rush you and that she's coming to see you at home ! Smile Flowers Amazing she gave you her mobile as well!

I'm yet to hear from the midwife, but it'll definitely make it all feel more real.

Pollypocket5 · 13/03/2019 14:29

@PrayingandHoping Soo exciting! I can't wait for my scan next Sunday.

I can't get an appointment with my doctor until 4th April. Should I be telling them that I am pregnant and needing to see them sooner?

Mintypea5 · 13/03/2019 14:33

@Pollypocket5 where I am you don’t need to see the GP about pregnancy the surgery just book you to see the midwife or tell you to self refer. I’d call your surgery to see what the process is 😊

@PrayingandHoping sounds like a lovely midwife. Very exciting

PrayingandHoping · 13/03/2019 14:35

@Pollypocket5 I just went in and told the receptionist I was in to register at pregnancy and she had me fill in a form for the midwife to be given and then to call me. But I'm sure not everywhere does it the same....

PrayingandHoping · 13/03/2019 14:36

@Littleseed I said I was happy to come in but the afternoon I booked the surgery was shut so she was happy to come here. 😁 but said at the start I could choose either if the building was open lol

Aeb3 · 13/03/2019 14:40

Hii can I join please
Age 22 baby number 1, due 3rd November ❤️

Hayley89 · 13/03/2019 14:47

Hi all, hope you're all doing well today. Has anyone found a solution to this mind blowing exhaustion?! I have to cover the phones all day so a nap isn't really an option for me unless I tell my business partner which I really don't want to do yet! My bed is literally right in the next room too Confused
I've moved fully onto decaf coffee (I don't drink tea) but I'm wondering if it's a good idea to have a normal cup around lunchtime? Brew

Pollypocket5 · 13/03/2019 14:54

@Hayley89 I am the same, I work in an office so a nap is just not an option. I fell asleep at 8pm last night and slept through to 7am this morning!

QforCucumber · 13/03/2019 15:03

Hayley I still drink 3 or 4 cups of tea a day! Never stopped!

Polly i also haven't seen GP, just phoned the surgery and was told to pop in and complete a form, took 2 seconds then midwife appt is on the 29th March. I'll be 8+4 then. From there I'll get the first scan referral.
