I usually absolutely love water but now... I'm struggling to drink it. I don't have morning sickness but the thought of it makes me feel sick.

I usually LOVE the smell of my dog (biscuits and popcorn) but I've been noticing an off smell to him that makes me feel nausea but I'm trying to ignore it.

Also today this is me

thumper59 · 20/03/2019 21:20

@Prequelle can relate to that. Also my dogs stink! Well they don't; but I can smell them so bad and feel like I can get a overwhelming smell of them on the sofa every now and again and I've washed all the cushions. Needless to say they're getting booked into dog dressers tomorrow!

Prequelle · 20/03/2019 21:23

I've told DP he needs to bath him tomorrow ha. His dog shampoo is more expensive than my own so I'm hoping it'll be lovely and I'll be able to handle the smell!

Littleseed · 20/03/2019 21:34

I wish my hair on my scalp would grow that way too @thumper59! 😂

Littleseed · 20/03/2019 21:35

Lol @Prequelle your post made me laugh, bless you!

Mintypea5 · 20/03/2019 21:53

Just thinking about chicken or eggs makes me want to throw up 🤮

Aph413 · 20/03/2019 22:22

Ketchup is on my no no list, I can smell it from a mile off at the moment.
Also the cat litter trays, but not the litter smell, the car freshener I have sat on the top of it makes me want to throw up.
Tough test of my gag reflex at work today, I work in adult social care and had to clean up a poo accident. Normally no bother but today I really struggled, hopefully it passes soon

Hayley89 · 20/03/2019 22:58

So apparently pregnancy symptoms are definitely real. Who knew?! 🤷‍♀️
My skin is somehow dry AND spotty. How is that even possible?!
My cramps have gone up a notch (no bleeding thank god!) and they're surprisingly uncomfortable.
Nipple chafing ... wow!
My mood swings are just ridiculous.
Bloating ... well that can just get in the bin. I can't even do up my jeans!!!!!
Oh and I grew a tash over the last week (@thumper59 same as you on the hair growth!!). Got so sick of looking at it I bleached it today!

Does anyone have any miracle cures to any of the above? Please?!?! I feel like one of the blokes on Queer Eye for a Straight Guy before they get a makeover 😂

PS totally not moaning (much), today has just been a bad day and I feel super gross!

TrashKitten10 · 21/03/2019 06:00

@Littleseed Bless you for your sympathy. I did feel a bit sorry for myself. I'm currently lying in bed stuffing myself with ritz crackers hoping I can stave it off. How are you? Have you had any more blood?

@thumper59 oh no! Hope you're okay. The baby brain is definitely real!

@Hayley89 @thumper59 @Littleseed Don't talk to me about hair. I have polycystic ovaries and a 'tache is part of my normal look 😂 not sure if it's changed at all since pregnancy though

Mintypea5 · 21/03/2019 06:11

@Aph413 I was told by a midwife last time not to touch cat litter when pregnant just in case because you can get some horrible thing from it that can cause issues (although it’s rare)

Gigimae95 · 21/03/2019 06:29

Hi everyone. I’m new to this site and just want some advice. Last week I was on holiday in Dubai, my period was due whilst I was there. Anyway it didn’t turn up. I just put it down to, my routine being changed and maybe being slightly jet lagged. Anyway, a week after my return home from holiday, my period still hadn’t turned up. So I did a test, and it turns out I’m 4 weeks pregnant.
I really don’t know what to do!
I’m 24, my partner is 28. We were not actively trying for a baby, and I was using protection which is why I am so shocked. However when I saw the positive on the test I actually felt happy. I’m so confused.
I mean- my partner is in a great job so financially i am not worried, we also have our own apartment- I’m just worried as we have only been together 6 months! I’m also worried as we had plans to go travelling this summer.

I told my partner as soon as I found out and he was supportive. He said he will support me whatever I want to do.

I think mostly I’m scared because of the short amount of time my bf and I have been together, and also because I’m scared I’m not ready for a child (and still want to travel and see the world)

Any replies/help i would really appreciate.

Gigi. L

Aph413 · 21/03/2019 06:30

@Mintypea5 don't worry I haven't touched it at all. I can just smell it when I'm near the trays

Nowthenforever2019 · 21/03/2019 06:46

Gigimae, you'd probably be better posting on the pregnancy choices page.

It's not cat litter you shouldn't touch, but used cat litter as cat poo is dangerous when pregnant. Clean cat litter is fine!

MindyMoonstone · 21/03/2019 06:55

I have another question ladies sorry 😂

I got my BFP on Monday with a FRER - that was 15 dpo and the day AF was due.

Thankfully no signs of AF (fingers crossed!!) but I did a less sensitive test yesterday and another just now, and the positive result is there but both are so faint. Should I be worried? I am worried that I should have more HCG by now? I really want this little one to stick and be happy and healthy so sure I’m just over analysing, but any views especially from personal experience are appreciated. Xx

Miller2 · 21/03/2019 07:07

Advice please folks. My downstairs is super itchy at the moment. I've never had vaginal thrush so don't really know if it could be that or not? It's driving me melad for the last 2 days. I've had a Google and don't have "cottage cheese" down there but wondered if it could still be thrush? Any advice appreciated before I scratch myself to bits!

Mintypea5 · 21/03/2019 07:12

@Miller2 I’d never had thrush until my last pregancy and didn’t have any obvious symptoms just a bit itchy. I’d go see the dr they can swab to test

@MindyMoonstone id wait a few days if you want to test again for a more clear lone. I tested the day AF was due and got the faintest line. Re tested a week after (because of some spotting etc on the day of original test) and had a very clear positive come back!

OhMarnie · 21/03/2019 07:13

@Miller2 I've had thrush lots of times and I've never had the typical discharge. The pessary normally does the trick quite quickly, not sure if you can use it while pregnant but there must be something you can take?

MindyMoonstone · 21/03/2019 07:24

@mintypea5 thanks so much that makes me feel a little better. Me and OH are desperated for a solid line on a “normal” test to make everything feel safe and real. We are probably just going mad 😂

MindyMoonstone · 21/03/2019 07:26

Hi @Miller2 I have had thrush every month for 6 months when I first went on a contraceptive pill so very familiar with that itch. You don’t always get a discharge until much later on so if you have an itch that is basically making you jump out your skin and want to tear yourself to shreds, it’s a good idea to pop the the GP :)
I’ve had it so many times I usually self diagnose and just pop and pill and some cream but won’t be self diagnosing anything now that I’m pregnant!!

Unsureursula · 21/03/2019 07:58

@Hayley89 yes to all that!!

cakeordeath89 · 21/03/2019 08:39

I've been having on/off cramps for the last few days and woke up in the night last night with horrible pain but hearing that other people are having cramps is such a reassurance - no bleeding (yet). My last test said 2-3 weeks so I'm hoping that it's not just left over HCG. I'm still bloated and emotional but no other major symptoms at the moment. Feeling a little overwhelmed and fed up of symptom analysing - trying to stay off google because it's just making me more stressed.

Mintypea5 · 21/03/2019 08:45

@cakeordeath89 as someone who basically gets zero symptoms I sympathise! Try not to google and stress. It can be perfectly normal to have basically no symptoms. Would booking an early scan help you feel reassured?

cakeordeath89 · 21/03/2019 08:49

@Mintypea5 When I first found out, I had really sore boobs but since then, nothing really aside from the bloating. The pain has got me worked up to be honest. Trying to focus on work but when nobody knows in the office and I just want to cry it's pretty hard :(
I have an early scan booked for 6th April - I didn't want to book it too soon in case it worked me up more with nothing to show.

Miller2 · 21/03/2019 08:55

Thanks for all the advice. I'll try and get a gp appointment. That's easier said than done though so will probably be weeks.
