@MindyMoonstone Congratulations on your BFP!

From everything I've read so far, your symptoms sound totally normally to me although as it's my first I'm still learning! I started off with headaches but now it's more cramps and feeling bloated plus I keep waking up in the middle of the night and struggle to get back to sleep - normally I'm a head on the pillow and out kind of sleeper. Not sure if it's the worrying or hormones.

MindyMoonstone · 20/03/2019 14:33

@cakeordeath89 thanks for the reply!! How far along are you?

It’s so exciting but so nerve racking too I wouldn’t be surprised if it is the nerves keeping you awake!! I can get a good strong result on a FRER but only the faintest ever BFP on a normal test lol so I will feel better when we are a bit further along! X

cakeordeath89 · 20/03/2019 14:43

@MindyMoonstone I think around 5 weeks or so - when I did a clear blue digital weeks test on Sunday it said 1-2 weeks but I think (hope) I'm more like 2-3 weeks. Days have never gone so slowly - I thought it was bad waiting for the testing date but that was just the start!

I called the hospital earlier for the self-referral so just got to wait for the letter to come through now... eek!

Lozzlepop · 20/03/2019 14:48

@MindyMoonstone hi and congratulations, my EDD is November 27th, I have been drinking a lot and feel bloated/crampy so sounds like we are in the same boat! 😀

MindyMoonstone · 20/03/2019 15:09

@cakeordeath89 haha... Tell me about it! Slowest two days so far ever. And I’ve done no work, far too busy googling everything! How does the self referral work? In my area you see midwife at the docs so I phoned up and booked an appointment today..... fx everything works out and I have a beautiful little sticky one my appt will be 9th April, so should be about 7 weeks?!

@lozzlepop congratulations!!! Almost EDD twins haha! When do you think you ovulated? It’s crazy scary knowing this early I think 😮 and by drinking a lot unfortunately assuming we both mean water and not wine hahahaha

cakeordeath89 · 20/03/2019 15:17

@MindyMoonstone I called up the Doctors surgery and the receptionist said in my area that there's a specific self-referral number which I had to call and leave a message. They called back this afternoon (had to go into the back office and talk really quietly, as nobody in work knows - hoping the person didn't think I was being weird!). They asked name, date of birth, NHS number and said I'd get a letter in 7-10 days. Isn't it strange how they just take your word for it?

Lozzlepop · 20/03/2019 15:29

@MindyMoonstone i know!! OV was around the 8th i think, what about you? I know but glad I do so I can curb drinking alcohol and caffeine etc! I know I was just saying to my OH earlier that I have had the last drink i'll have in a while lol

Mintypea5 · 20/03/2019 15:31

Hi ladies welcome to the November thread Grin

I always find it weird that until a scan all we have to prove it is a stick we peed on lol

Feelingsolow12345 · 20/03/2019 15:35

I just had to go to the reception desk and ask for them to book me in. As the midwife is only there once a week the next appointment was 2nd April. Which is making me 8 + 1 but gp wanted me to go for a scan but refused to refer me. So frustrating. I had a miscarriage last year with about 3 or 4 chemical pregnancies. I also suffer with really bad headaches so I don't know if I'll be monitored more as having constant headaches in pregnancy can be a bad sign

cakeordeath89 · 20/03/2019 15:37

@Mintypea5 I was having that exact discussion with DH last night - if somebody erased my memory of peeing on a stick (!), I probably wouldn't even be able to say definitively - I'm noticing all the symptoms MORE because I know what they mean but if I didn't I'd probably right them off as just being under the weather, or dehydrated, or eating something dodgy.
It has made more surprised by the many Pregnancy announcement videos there are where people wave pee sticks around - it must be so early on! I know everybody has their own choice to make but I'd feel I was jinxing it.

MindyMoonstone · 20/03/2019 15:44

@cakeordeath89 Funny how it’s different in each area too! You and @Mintypea5 are right though, how strange that I’ve just been able to book in without having to prove a thing 😂

@lozzlepop I probably shouldn’t have but had a small glass last night to kiss it goodbye LOL and OV would have been 3rd March, maybe 4th!

Anyone else also exceptionally hungry?? Prior to the BFP I was dieting at 1000cal Monday to Thursday but last 3 days I haven’t been able to stop eating! At least without the coffee, booze etc the extra food calories shouldn’t make too much difference ConfusedWink

cakeordeath89 · 20/03/2019 15:59

As a non-drinker, it doesn't faze me about the whole alcohol thing.... Cutting down on my cups of tea on the otherhand!
Reducing it to just one cuppa at work and then having decaf at home (although it's pretty bleurgh, it's hardly worth having)

I've not really had much in the way of symptoms this week (not sure whether to be happy or sad) It is surprising how many calories you free up though by not drinking (the girls in the office are constantly on diets yet drink incredible amounts!).

Mintypea5 · 20/03/2019 15:59

@MindyMoonstone I’m hungry all the time 🤣 I’ve been trying to lose my baby weigh from my 9 month old since he was born but that’s buggered now

@cakeordeath89 if I didn’t know I was pregnant I’d just assume my cold was really bad lol I get like zero symptoms tho and am permanently tired with my 7yr old and 9 month old

Lozzlepop · 20/03/2019 16:36

@MindyMoonstone I'm sure its fine as a last goodbye. I was really hungry yesterday, feeling better today which might be because I went to the gym at lunch and feel like I have drank about 3 litres of water. I am feeling really tired though so looking forward to heading home shortly!

@cakeordeath89 I am the same with tea, have managed to have a decaf this morning, a hot choc this afternoon and will have a peppermint when I get home.

MindyMoonstone · 20/03/2019 17:01

Aw cakeordeath89 and lozzlepop I feel your pain with tea, I normally have a coffee for breakfast everyday but gonna have to cut that out now!

And you’re right about the booze cakeordeath89 it’s not good for the waistline

Mintypea5 good point 😂 maybe we just have an excellent relationship with food!!

At what point with your firsts did you girls get cravings? X

FirstTimeMama91 · 20/03/2019 17:17

@Pollypocket5 @Mintypea5 just had some ginger, honey and lemon in hot water to help my cold. Hoping it'll work and apparently it helps with the nausea too Smile

Mintypea5 · 20/03/2019 17:51

@FirstTimeMama91 hope it helps and you feel better. I’m exhausted already and still an hour at least until DH gets home to help with the kids

FirstTimeMama91 · 20/03/2019 18:03

@Mintypea5 Thanks Thanks oh I dunno how you cope lol. This is my first bump! I can't imagine what it must be like having kids and being pregnant too. I'm exhausted and all we have is a dog lol!

thumper59 · 20/03/2019 18:05

Cravings started bang on 7 weeks for me. Current ones are salt and vinegar crisps and currently can't stop thinking about a chicken mayo burger from McDonald's 😫

Mintypea5 · 20/03/2019 18:14

@thumper59 McDonald’s cheese burgers for ME

PrayingandHoping · 20/03/2019 18:18

@thumper59 I'm all about vinegar too! Loving fish with lots of vinegar too and I don't usually like all that much lol

TrashKitten10 · 20/03/2019 18:24

They're right about the nausea hitting at 6 weeks! I've got a 1 hour drive to work and 40 minutes in I was in a service station car park crying and holding a bag for life (the only vomit receptacle I could find) 😂 Nothing actually can't up but god I felt awful. I've stocked up on ginger biscuits and crackers for the drive tomorrow 🤞🏻

thumper59 · 20/03/2019 18:28

@PrayingandHoping I'm the same!

@Mintypea5 I haven't had McDonald's In ages but could demolish one now.

@TrashKitten10 I've found forcing some digestives down in a morning regardless of how I feel really helps keep Nausea at bay

Nowthenforever2019 · 20/03/2019 18:29

Lozzlepop - you can have 200mg of caffeine a day so that's about 2 mugs of caffeinated coffee. You don't need to give it up completely. The Nhs website will give you a good indication of what you can have. Remember though, chocolate has caffeine in too so you have to count it toward your total

Anyone else obsessed with pelvic floor exercises ha
