The EPU called but they won’t see me until tomorrow morning. I can’t put another night in tonight like I did last night so I’m having another private scan this evening. Even though it’s only one more night to wait I need the peace of mind!

Prequelle · 20/03/2019 09:43

I know all you are probably lovely but just wanted to say that if the gynae units/epau don't give you the answer you need (ie can't get you in as quickly as you would like) please don't shout and scream at us and get your partner's to slag us off too :( had a horrible experience on Monday that left me upset coz I'm so emotional right now. We understand it's an emotional time and most of us have had kids/are pregnant ourselves but our hands are tied :(

Yeoooo the waiting must be awful. I'm so glad you've got a private scan so quickly. I hope everything is Okay xx

Waitingformyrainbow · 20/03/2019 09:51

@Yeoooooooo really hope everything is ok xx

Mintypea5 · 20/03/2019 10:06

@Yeoooooooo good luck for the scan later. I know from experience the wait is awful! We don’t have any private places near us so I’ve had to do that long wait for the epu and it’s a killer

@Prequelle Flowers I think all EPU / gynae units are amazing. I know they do the best they can and sometimes just don’t have the ability to help straight away due to ohbso many reasons. Nothing but love and appreciate for them

cakeordeath89 · 20/03/2019 10:29

Would it be possible to join? Due to irregular cycles I'm not 100% sure on due date yet but it's around the 18th-20th November 2019. Looking forward to hearing all about your pregnancies.

theprocrastin8er · 20/03/2019 11:53

Hello, may I join too?
After 4 years of fertility investigations, poor ovarian reserve and a failed IVF I can't believe I'm pregnant (natural conception) so I'm hoping joining this thread will help make it real! I have found reading everyone's experiences really helpful. I don't have any symptoms except dull cramps, and I haven't told anyone, so it all feels surreal and I can't really believe it might lead to a baby.

Me: 34, expecting #1, EDD- 21 November.

Knickersononeshead · 20/03/2019 12:25

Little Bean measured 8w5d but sonographer says they give me a due date at the 12 weeks scan.

Hi Ladies, I have come down with a terrible cold and it's completely taken away my appetite. Is there anything I can take?

Marty77 · 20/03/2019 12:46

Suffering serious baby brain 🥴

FirstTimeMama91 · 20/03/2019 12:54

@Pollypocket5 I'm exactly the same absolutely dosed Envy have stopped taking antihistamines so dunno if it's that. What can we take for a cold?

Cbeebies89 · 20/03/2019 12:56

Hi everyone, can I join the conversation? I've found out recently that I'm pregnant with my first (due date is 20th November). Currently spending most of my time feeling quite anxious about these early stages and desperate to be at the stage where I can get a scan/hear a heart beat. Any tips for managing the fear in the first trimester? ☺

cakeordeath89 · 20/03/2019 13:02

@Cbeebies89 I've found that distraction techniques have been the only option for me, trying to keep busy at work although it's really quiet at the moment which isn't helping.
Feeling exactly the same and our due date is pretty much the same too. It's my first as well and hadn't really thought past getting the BFP so feeling a little overwhelmed by it.

BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil · 20/03/2019 13:06

Hi ladies,

Went for my early scan today...empty sac. Theyve taken bloods with more to be done in 48 hours. My only hope is that my ovulation dates (not lmp dates) are off and I implanted late. Its slim hope, but prepre for the worst and hope for the best? Ive had brown/pink spotting all last night when I wiped which was why they bumped the scan up.

If it is the worst, then you wont be seeing me on this thread again, butI wish you all the best with happy, healthy pregnancies Star

Mintypea5 · 20/03/2019 13:08

@Pollypocket5 & @FirstTimeMama91 sadly not a lot we can take! I’ve had a really nasty cold for a while now and a very nasty cough. Pharmacist said lots of vit C fluids and rest. Honey and lemon in tea too. Can see a dr bit likely they won’t be able to help!

@Cbeebies89 welcome! First tri is hard when you’re feeling anxious Flowers I can only suggest take each day as it comes. If you’re not showing any obvious signs of something being wrong(pain or bleeding) the keep reminding yourself you are pregnant and you have no reason to think anything’s wrong! Also stay off google is my top tip!

@Marty77 me too Confused

@Knickersononeshead wonderful news!!!! Flowers

@theprocrastin8er welcome! Massive congratulations Flowers

New ladies we also have a fb group! It’s closed so people can’t see you’re in it

@littleseed how are you today lovely??

Mintypea5 · 20/03/2019 13:09

@BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil thinking of you

Hayley89 · 20/03/2019 13:13

@Cbeebies89 I agree with @cakeordeath89! I have to make myself forget it's happening or I start thinking about everything. It's going to be my first too so it's all completely unknown which just makes me more anxious. I went for an early scan at 6 weeks and as much as it showed me there's only 1 (phew) and it's in the right place it didn't really put me any more at ease. I'm going back for another when I'm around 8 weeks so I'm keeping everything crossed for a heartbeat! If you book an early scan try and leave it at late as you can bear. As much as I knew there wouldn't be a heartbeat I was an absolute mess afterwards just because I really wanted to hear one 🙄

Pollypocket5 · 20/03/2019 13:13

@FirstTimeMama91 it's horrible isn't it? I have been off work the last couple of days. How have you managed to eat? I literally don't want anything.

@Mintypea5 Thankyou I thought that'll be the case. Just going to have to ride this out aren't we.

Hayley89 · 20/03/2019 13:13

@BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil I've got everything crossed for you Flowers

cakeordeath89 · 20/03/2019 13:26

I have an early scan booked for Saturday 6th April although I think I'm only going to be around 7 weeks. I'm hoping it won't cause more stress but I felt I had to get something organised because it just feels like I'm in limbo at the moment. It's a looooong wait for that booking in appointment.

cakeordeath89 · 20/03/2019 13:26

Keeping everything crossed for you @BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil

Laurajp23 · 20/03/2019 13:33

@Pollypocket5 @FirstTimeMama91

I went to the Docs on Monday for a viral chesty cough/infection and she said we could take paracetamol as normal (X2 capsules) for the duration we feel ill. It's totally safe as long as we space out the doses over 24 hours.

Any other time, we should take the lowest effective dose we can take that helps sort the pain (headache, toothache etc!)

Hope it helps and you feel better soon!

Pollypocket5 · 20/03/2019 14:01

@BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil everything crossed for you!

@cakeordeath89 I have a scan this Sunday where I'll be 7 weeks. I'm also praying that it won't make me more anxious. Just want to hear a heartbeat.

@Laurajp23 Thankyou, it's horrible being ill when pregnant and not knowing what you can and can't do.

keepforgettingmyusername · 20/03/2019 14:02

Rang the EPU today to discuss my previous miscarriages as I can't get to see the GP until next week and they've booked me in for a scan on 1st April. Eek! I'm already so nervous Grin

FirstTimeMama91 · 20/03/2019 14:10

@Pollypocket5 @Mintypea5 it's the worst. Going to just try to get to bed early and see if that'll fix it. Appetite isn't great. Eating a lot of fruit so that should help too

@BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil thinking of you and have everything crossed HaloStarThanks

MindyMoonstone · 20/03/2019 14:17

Hi November ladies!!
Can I ask for some advice please?

Got my first ever BFP yesterday making me 4+2 today... and therefore looking at Nov 26th ish for the due date! Grin
We are so pleased to have got past yesterday (the day AF was due) but I’m overall anxious at the thought of getting excited and then the worst happening.

I am gassy, bloated and thirsty all the time for about 3-4 days, and the last 2 days I’ve been having little aches and cramps, and sort of like twitches, lower abdomen. Is it normal to have some pangs at this stage? Thanks in advance xxx
