Aww @JoJoSaysHello that's sweet. Flowers it's lovely being here all together- gaining reassurance from one another and sharing things that only pregnant ladies will understand, hehe. Wink xx

Littleseed · 19/03/2019 21:05

@TrashKitten10, @AcatcalledGary yay, I was trying to connect @AlexandraPark with all the teachers. Smile Flowers

Yeoooooooo · 19/03/2019 21:08

@Littleseed I spoke to the GP who sent me to a&e. The triage nurse there phoned the EPU and they took my details and said they will call me tomorrow. I’ve heard though that they don’t always call you back so I will phone myself tomorrow morning and hopefully they scan me.

I’ve found the process quite confusing! Thanks for your kind words Smile

Mintypea5 · 19/03/2019 21:33

@Yeoooooooo hopefully they call you early so you’re not waiting all day. I had lots of bleeds last pregnancy and it was ok. Bloody scary but ok. Keep positive lovely

Littleseed · 19/03/2019 21:39

You're welcome @Yeoooooooo Smile and thank you for explaining the process.

I expect once we all have our own midwives, the process may be simpler and easier? I'm presuming that the MW would be the first contact in a situation like this and then she can arrange for EPU to scan.

I think it's a good idea for you to call them back- just in case.
Please update us on how everything goes for you tomorrow. Flowers

Littleseed · 19/03/2019 21:42

That's really reassuring to hear @Mintypea5- thank you for that hun. Flowers Did you have actual red blood too? What did you do when you experienced the bleeds?
At around 3:30pm today, I went to the loo and saw unusual discharge on my panty liner. Sorry TMI Blush
Then when I wiped, I saw actual red blood, but mixed with clear mucus and a bit of an unusual colour too.

I'm not sure what to do.

Mintypea5 · 19/03/2019 22:10

I had red blood bleeds at 6/8&11 weeks probably around a tsp each time. It was terrifying! When I went for scans I was sure I’d be told the worse (I’ve had miscarriages at 5 10 & 11 weeks). I contacted the EPU myself as I’d had a miscarriage the time before so I had their number for the 6&11 week bleeds. 8 week I was out for dinner so went to a&e who just referred me the next day.

I also had a what they classed as a major bleed at 14 weeks while at work last time too. Big gush of red blood followed by bleeding for a few hours. I was rushed to a&e that time and taken care of by that hospitals maternity ward (everything was ok)

If you’ve had some red bleeding and are worried you can either call your epu (google can help you) or call the dr to tomorrow to get referred? 111 could possibly get you seen tonight if you’re bleeding still?

Try not to worry. I know how hard it is but ifnits not continuous blood and no pain it’s more than likely to be fine. Flowers

Littleseed · 19/03/2019 22:18

Thank you so much for your kind words and support @Mintypea5. Flowers
That must have been terrifying for you. Sad Although it's so reassuring to hear that even after what they considered to be the major bleed, everything turned out just fine. That's beautiful. :') So happy for you. xx

Thankfully, I haven't seen any blood since then, but did cover almost a whole square of toilet roll (going across) when I wiped.
So you think it's best to call the GP and see what they say? The only reason I'm reluctant is because the reception staff are rude and not very happy answering phone calls. Confused No idea why they took the job, but it's so off putting having to call because you know they just don't care. Sad
My MW did call me last Friday to introduce herself to me and to make my first appointment over the phone, and I saved her mobile number, but she didn't say to contact her if there's anything in the meantime, so I'm a bit reluctant, given we haven't met and I haven't had my appointment with her yet.

Mintypea5 · 19/03/2019 22:31

I’d say if you’re reluctant to call the doctors, understandably!, give the midwife a call. She will be able to advise you and support you. Especially as you have an appointment booked with her. Every midwife I’ve ever dealt with has always said they’d prefer to be contacted rather than us ladies be upset or I’m trouble.

Just explain your situation and that you weren’t sure the doctor was the person to speak to as you’re now under midwife booking.

Good luck! Sending positive thoughts that you get some help tomorrow xx

Devonite · 19/03/2019 22:36

👋 Hello. Can I sneak in...?? Think I’m due 11/11. Baby no 3. I’m also a teacher 🙂

TrashKitten10 · 20/03/2019 04:23

@thumper59 Yes the bloat is strong here too 😩 6+3 and DH remarked that my belly was now bigger than my boobs which also feel ridiculously large. Thanks DH! 😒

bumblingalonghappily · 20/03/2019 04:58

Hi @Devonite and welcome to our group! There are quite a few teachers here, myself included 😊

@Littleseed I've read so much about people having bleeds, especially early on and it being fine. It must be terrifying though. I also think you should give your midwife a call- it's their job after all and she or he will probably be much more helpful than a GP receptionist 😊

Thank you everyone so much for your reassuring words about BBT tracking. I really will try to put the thermometer away- might ask dh to hide it! I am a natural worrier ( to the point where last month at 7 months ttc we paid to have fertility checks done on both of us- little did we know we would be pregnant that very same month)! You're all so friendly and reassuring here- it's great 😊

bumblingalonghappily · 20/03/2019 05:02

And having the transvaginal ultrasound in the month I conceived meant I saw my leading follicle, which is a strange thought! Also pretty sure I'm not carrying twins even though they run in my family as there was only one leading follicle and my day 21 progesterone level was on the bottom end of normal post ovulatory levels. Feels a bit weird having extra insight!

FirstTimeMama91 · 20/03/2019 07:23

Morning everyone and bumps Thanks how long after your referral to the midwife did she contact you? I sent the form last Friday and got an email saying it had been received and they would be in touch

PrayingandHoping · 20/03/2019 07:25

@FirstTimeMama91 it was the following Wednesday as that was the day she next worked in the surgery.

Mintypea5 · 20/03/2019 07:27

Having one of those days Hmm just made DS1s lunch and realised I’d made his sandwiches with chilli jam not actual jam

Waitingformyrainbow · 20/03/2019 07:46

Morning ladies, hope you are all well. I totally forgot to take my folic acid yesterday 🤦🏻‍♀️ does it matter do you think ? X

Mintypea5 · 20/03/2019 07:56

@Waitingformyrainbow missing the odd day won’t matter. I’ve done it lots in my other pregnancies and know loads of others who forgot at Times too

Waitingformyrainbow · 20/03/2019 07:59

@Mintypea5 thank you so much, can't believe I forgot! Hoping I got enough from cereal and wholemeal bread yesterday! X

Aph413 · 20/03/2019 08:02

I keep forgetting my folic acid too. Plus my vitamin d is a separate pill. I wasn't taking it before I found out as I was so convinced it wasn't going to happen Blush

Waitingformyrainbow · 20/03/2019 08:05

@Aph413 yes mine is also separate so I also missed that 🤦🏻‍♀️, I'm going to get a pill box and place them next to my bed to make sure I don't forget x

Aph413 · 20/03/2019 08:07

@Waitingformyrainbow I've had to set an alarm in my phone and my husband has taken to asking me if I've taken it now. You'd think having taken vitamin d all winter I'd remember to take it now!

Mintypea5 · 20/03/2019 08:08

I can’t even remember to buy half the stuff on my shopping list right now 🤣 you’ve reminded me to take mine tho

Waitingformyrainbow · 20/03/2019 08:33

The silly thing is I remembered to take the baby aspirin and progesterone 🤦🏻‍♀️ was in a world of my own yesterday I think!

Lozzlepop · 20/03/2019 08:49

@TrashKitten10 hello 👋🏻yes there are a few familiar faces which is lovely. Due date predicted at November 27th, quietly smug that I don't need to have a sober xmas 😉how are you getting on?

@OhMarnie ahhh nice, we will probably wait a few weeks yet but its nice that you ladies know and we can share how we are feeling etc. DP is so excited bless him he's mentally moving rooms around already!

@Mintypea5 hahaha thats brilliant, at least you realised and didn't send him off with spicy sandwiches 😂
