This is a continuation of the previous thread since we are coming up to the 1000 post limit.

I'm currently resisting the urge to go home and take another test. I don't see what it'll tell me I don't already know

Hi lovely ladies! I had my scan today, feel like such an idiot and definitely went too early! I put myself at 6+1 but the sonographer has said I'm probably just over 5 weeks! GAH! All looks good though (I think). Yolk sac is there with the teeny tiny embryo but of course it was way too early for a heartbeat and I was gutted. I didn't even expect to hear a heartbeat and I tried not to get my hopes up I just wanted the scan to make it more concrete and real but I felt like we left with more of a question mark over everything!!! I burst into tears as soon as we got in the car (one of those ugly, bawling, screw your face up and sob out loud cries), carried on crying during the food shop round Tesco (bought everything in sight), realised I should be happy to have had a normal looking scan this early which made me more upset for being upset and not over the moon happy, got home and fell asleep for 2 hours. Bloody hormones. I swear I have never felt like such a wreck.

On a slightly less mental note the scan report did say "trace of fluid in the POD". Anyone had this before? If so what the hell does it mean? Google isn't giving me a clear answer which is a bit worrying!

Aww @Hayley89 obviously good news everything looks okay but annoying that you didn't get to see as much as you thought you would. Will you get another scan in a few weeks time or just wait for your 12 week scan?

I've felt so awful this weekend with hormones, tiredness and a rotten cold I can't take medicine for. All I've done is snot, sneeze, sob and sleep. Busy week at work next week so hoping I feel a bit more human.

Must be the day for extra tests. I'm 7 weeks tomorrow and bought another from Asda to take, just to be sure 😂

I also did another of my leftover IC stash today 😂😂 it was nice to see the test like pop up even before the control line and be super dark though. I'm trying to wean myself off testing now!!

Awww @Hayley89 it’s frustrating when that happens. I will say last time I was sure I was 7 weeks when I had a scan due to bleeds they dated me 6. At my 12 week they dated me back up by a week so I had been right! They said it’s just because each pregnancy developes a little differently / it’s hard that small to get an accurate length / date.

Will you have another can before 12 weeks? It’s good they saw everything where it should be xx

@TrashKitten10 oh blimey yes we're going back in 2 weeks 😂 they really know how to get you "we'd recommend ..." "I'LL DO IT!!!!". I'm glad we've seen something but until I can see/hear a heartbeat I know I'm not going to fully believe it!

I hope you feel a bit brighter tomorrow. I'm sorry you've got the battle of a cold on top of everything else!

@Mintypea5 honestly didn't even think about how everyone will progress at a different rate and of course that makes complete sense! Thank you, that just made me feel even better about it!
Definitely getting another scan, they suggested 2 weeks which I'm all for. The best thing to come out of today is knowing it's in the right place and there's only one! Twins run in my family and I had this little niggle there could be two cooking away!

@Hayley89 I had the same thing. Thought I was there at 6 weeks and then was told I was more like 5 weeks. Sucks doesn't it!

POD probably means "pouch of Douglas". I have no idea what that actually means but it was referred to on my scan too and I googled it and it is an area somewhere between the rectum and the uterus

How's everyone coping with the sickness/Nausea. Everything that goes in my mouth makes me feel sick. I'm really struggling with it now as I always have mild panic attacks from it

My nausea has gotten even worse @feelingsolow12345. Even struggling with drinks today.

@PyjamasForever it's horrible isn't it. They say to eat but how can you when it's this bad

Hi everyone. Had my early scan today. Thankfully the embryo is in the right place and we heard a heartbeat! The only downside is I’m not quite as far along as I thought (I’m only 6+2) which came as a surprise as I was expecting to be pushed forward a few days (no real scientific reason, but with DC1&2 I gained a few extra days both times at the early scan and then again at the dating scan). A bit gutted as it means I’m at risk of not getting maternity pay because of when I need to leave my job and if I was a week ahead I’d be in safer territory . I fully appreciate I’m just very lucky to have a healthy pregnancy at this stage though!

@TheGruffalosLoveChild it’s still early you could end up being back where you thought at your 12 week scan. I said above with my last baby I thought I was 7 weeks dated 6 at an early scan then put back to where I thought I was at my 12 week scan. At this stage it’s still all so small & everything develops differently

@Mintypea5 How is your cold?

@TheGruffalosLoveChild How different were their dates to yours? Like others have said, the dates could catch up at later scans.

@OhMarnie I did some more too and used up the last of my tests. FRER line had got a lot darker and first response had gone up to 3+ weeks. I'm still doubting it though 😩

@TrashKitten10 bloody annoying! Missed nephews 2nd birthday today because my cough is awful and would hate to give it to the kids especially newest nephews he’s only a couple weeks old. Thanks for asking ☺️

@Mintypea5 Boo :( I think after sleeping pretty much all weekend I'm coming out the other side of mine. The packet of cold and flu tablets has been mocking me from the cupboard throughout 😩

@TrashKitten10 glad you’re starting to feel better! I’m hoping that as the majority of this pregnancy will be spring / summer I can avoid getting too many more colds! ... I’ve jinxed myself now 🤣

TrashKitten - Oh their dates were really close to mine, it’s just that it went the opposite way to the way I expected it (and wanted it ) to go. I’m just going to have to wait and see.

I still feel absolutely rubbish. Seriously hoping I get some energy soon, but I have a feeling that’s not going to happen any time soon .

I had my early scan today at 7+2. It was amazing! Saw the heart beating away . This will stop me being anxious until... uh... tomorrow probably!

I want to go for an early scan and have told DH we'll go the 7th April when I'll either be 7+2 or 8 weeks (ovulation or lmp) but I'm starting to panic about it. Which is ridiculous, we're going to book it in the week running up to it so I don't spend 3 weeks panicking.
I've also used my last frer today. Test line still darker than the control thankfully. My other digital is being saved for next week when it should show 3+.
Such an anxious time.
