Reduced movements. Been for scan no feral movements felt or seen

Hi I'm 36w1 been out or hospital since Sunday after having sepsis! Reduced movements started on Tuesday but been in for monitoring and heart rate etc fine. Been for scan again could see heart beating but no movement seen or felt by sonographer. Babies heart beat keeps spiking and midwife saying that's her moving but I'm not feeling the movements. I feel like they are just fobbing me off. I feel like there is something wrong and no one is listening to me

Advice would be great please 😌

The signal in crosshouse is atrocious. Hoping the OP has had her baby but currently in a signal black spot Thanks

tinatsarina · 12/02/2019 08:08

Hoping OP has tried another hospital and baby is out and doing well.

Mrsmummy90 · 12/02/2019 08:11

Hope you’re OK OP-am another who had reduced movements but fortunately they took me seriously even though I was only 35wks and good job they did-a couple of hours later she was in distress and I was having an ECS. Trust your gut and if things aren’t right turn up elsewhere.

Thanks everyone for their thoughts ❤. Been quite poorly over the last few days probably more so mentally than physically! Been admitted and monitored but again plan of action still to wait until 39 weeks! Just hope im not kept in for the next 2 weeks. I feel drained, scared and a bit manic. The last few days have been a blur

@MissMoodyMoo ❤️ are you in hospital now? Have you considered going to a different hospital like PPs have said?

RandomMess · 12/02/2019 10:31

You're in the best place hopefully your anxiety will reduce and they will got a proper understanding of what is going on Thanks

cushioncuddle · 12/02/2019 10:37

I'm so pleased you're getting the right support. Try to rest. I hope everything goes smoothly for you now. Thanks

PrawnOfCreation · 12/02/2019 11:02

So glad to hear you're well. Wishing you all the best.

Cantdoright1 · 12/02/2019 11:15

So glad your in the right place. 2 weeks in hospital isn't the end of the world and it's the best place for you and baby. I assume the staff know about your sisters experience of still birth as I think they should know as it could be relevant.

Enjoy your last moments of peace and quiet before you get a beautiful bouncy baby to look after and the worry continues in a different form!

Good luck xx

Namechangedforthis79 · 12/02/2019 11:30

How scary for you. Keep pushing them to listen to you as much as possible.

SaturdaySauv · 12/02/2019 11:33

It might be the last thing you feel like doing but download the breathe ap and try to do a bit mindfulness. Just get through an hour at a time. Eat and drink whenever you feel you’re able to and keep your strength up.

Continue to trust your instincts too and don’t feel undermined by staff who are concerned for your mental wellbeing- the two things aren’t mutually exclusive so just because you’re feeling fragile, it doesn’t mean the concerns for your baby should be dismissed and attributed to mental health worries.

ValleyoftheHorses · 13/02/2019 18:22

Hi OP,
Glad they are keeping you in- at least you’ll be on the CTG multiple times per day?
How are things?

snoopy18 · 13/02/2019 21:21

I’ve ended up being kept in for the night for reduced movement too. Hopefully get a scan tomorrow to check fluid levels again around baby etc. Can’t stand hospitals 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️

ReaganSomerset · 13/02/2019 21:27

Let us know how it goes, OP. Best wishes for plain sailing for you and LO. Two weeks will fly by.

hazandduck · 13/02/2019 21:38

Oh OP my heart has been in my mouth reading this thread. I had reduced movements at the end of my pregnancy and signs of a liver issue that can cause stillbirth, I was an absolute wreck but was taken seriously by my maternity unit I cannot imagine how you must be feeling especially after what has happened to your poor sister. As others have said, could you go to another hospital and also, seriously threaten to report the unit for not taking you seriously! In these scenarios they should always, always listen to the mother because only you know your baby’s pattern of movements. I really hope you are listened to soon, thinking of you x
