Reduced movements. Been for scan no feral movements felt or seen

Hi I'm 36w1 been out or hospital since Sunday after having sepsis! Reduced movements started on Tuesday but been in for monitoring and heart rate etc fine. Been for scan again could see heart beating but no movement seen or felt by sonographer. Babies heart beat keeps spiking and midwife saying that's her moving but I'm not feeling the movements. I feel like they are just fobbing me off. I feel like there is something wrong and no one is listening to me

Advice would be great please 😌

OP I keep checking back hoping to hear you've delivered. I hope everything is ok

explodingkitten · 11/02/2019 20:17

I’m hoping lack of updates means OP has had a CS and is busy

Gosh I really hope so. Even if all is well this kind of stress isn't healthy for mother or baby.

Parent19876 · 11/02/2019 20:25

Hoping you're getting the care you and your baby deserve now, OP!

Kittykat93 · 11/02/2019 20:35

God this thread is scary. I so hope you've got some help op Thanks

NutRoastNancy · 11/02/2019 20:36

This is shocking! Hope you are being better looked after now op.

babysharkah · 11/02/2019 20:40

Hope you and baby are ok and you've made it to a decent hospital op.

DropZoneOne · 11/02/2019 20:46

Really really hope you have made it to another hospital. I had a silent placental abruption with my daughter - lack of movement was the only sign something was wrong. I went from being monitored to being in theatre within 2 hours.

It's one thing not to feel movements yourself, it's quite another for no movements to be seen on a trace or scan.

Darkstar4855 · 11/02/2019 20:56

@DropZoneOne the tracings have been normal and shown movements, it’s just the scan that they didn’t see movement on.

AllTheUserNamesAreTaken · 11/02/2019 20:58

Hope you and your baby are ok, op.FlowersBear

Borderterrierpuppy · 11/02/2019 21:05

How are you doing op?

PixieDust92 · 11/02/2019 21:14

So sorry you're going through this Sad they always mention how important it is to notify when movements decrease yet you are being brushed off Angry only YOU know your body and YOUR baby, refuse to leave until they take you seriously or go to the next hospital closest to you. Hope everything is okay Thanks

MrsJDornan · 11/02/2019 21:16

Really really hope you and your baby are ok Thanks

Cantchooseaname · 11/02/2019 21:19

Really hope all is ok, and you are snoozing with a new born.

PrawnOfCreation · 11/02/2019 21:21

AMU nearly killed me and my child. The midwife who was leading my "care" still works there. They're shit at spotting sepsis too. Hoping you're okay OP.

sadkoala · 11/02/2019 21:32

Really hope everything is ok OP Flowers

Prusik · 11/02/2019 21:36

Hope you're doing ok op

Ironytheoppositeofwrinkly · 11/02/2019 22:23

Another hoping you're okay OP. I recently had a stillbirth due to reduced movements that I didn't take seriously myself :(
Your hospital sounds appalling, I'm sorry you've been treated this way.

Glitterandunicorns · 11/02/2019 22:27

@Ironytheoppositeofwrinkly I'm so very sorry for your loss. Thanks

MyOtherProfile · 11/02/2019 22:37

OP I hope you and your baby are ok Flowers

Ironytheoppositeofwrinkly · 11/02/2019 22:40

glitter thank you, I only have myself to blame unfortunately. I hope OP has a much happier, boring, normal outcome :)

PrawnOfCreation · 11/02/2019 23:24

Ironytheoppositeofwrinkly I'm so very sorry for your loss. I do hope you stop blaming yourself, we're all guilty of thinking it'll be fine, assuring ourselves we're being over cautious, and listening to the constant drip drip drip of the doubting of our instincts from medical professionals.

Even the most fierce woman can struggle to stand up and say "I'm worried and I should be listened to" as we're told so often we're overreacting or making a fuss.

I'm so sorry you were so unlucky, but I honestly think you're blameless.

RandomMess · 11/02/2019 23:34

@Ironytheoppositeofwrinkly please don't blame yourself, medicine is not an exact science things such as the myth of "they run out of room at the end" perpetuates - have had so many "arguments" over that lie on this forum!

We don't have cord blood flow monitoring in this country unlike most of the rest of Europe, babies move around still due to the fluid it's so easy to think it's them doing that.

Thanks
Frazzled2207 · 11/02/2019 23:42

Hope all is well x

Gunpowder · 11/02/2019 23:49

I have everything crossed for you OP. Shocking maternity unit. Flowers

Glitterandunicorns · 12/02/2019 06:17

@Ironytheoppositeofwrinkly Please don't blame yourself. I hope you're able to find peace. Thanks
