@sunshine1987 oh really? Its like it doesn't give me the option to search for people who I'm not friends with, I made a pretend closed one to try and that was fine tho (could you maybe ask the person who made that one for me 😂) maybe I need use a proper computer x
@Crossfitgirl no not yet, can't send anything to you, only managed to add @MrsC87 because I have actually added her as a friend x

CookieWaffle · 28/02/2019 08:31

From a quick google it looks like people need to request to join the group and you can't just search for them unless you're friends. Perhaps we just request to join? Could privately send the link around.

ChaosMoon · 28/02/2019 10:42

I'm so very sorry @FlapJackered. Spoil yourself rotten over the next few weeks and give yourself time to heal. Your rainbow baby will come.

@LuckyKitty13 I'm taking leave to reduce my hours as of today (hurray!) and then finishing in 2weeks time. I can't wait! That's so exciting that you're in the full term window now. ☺️

That's so exciting about the move @SullyWifey!

And about your little boy @Delilah7! So glad everything's OK, and Ethan is a great name.

@MrsC87 this is why we aren't sharing our name list with anyone who doesn't know to keep their options to themselves. 4 carefully vetted people know and that'll be our until they're here!

I haven't been on FB in over a year and it's been so liberating! Although MN may have taken its place in my life...

I've got the rest of the week off now ladies and I'm spending today being sooooo lazy. It's bliss!

Delilah7 · 28/02/2019 10:43

@ChaosMoon thank you, me too. Such a weight lifted off our shoulders. 💙

MrsC87 · 28/02/2019 11:32

Hey ladies, 20 week scan went well this morning, my little boy is doing well and healthy. The sonographer was a miserable cow but didn't ruin the experience thankfully.

Anyone know when I get the matb1 form? x

OP posts:
ChaosMoon · 28/02/2019 11:48

I'm so pleased @MrsC87! Except for the sonographer. How can you be miserable at people doing that job?

I got mine at my 24week appointment I think. It should say in your notes.

CookieWaffle · 28/02/2019 12:06

Lovely to hear @MrsC87! I think I'm getting mine at my consultant appt in a few weeks. Or at one of my many other appointments coming up. Has anyone got to go do a glucose test?

sunshine1987 · 28/02/2019 12:40

@mrsc87 glad all went well. I get mine at my 25 week appointment, the first appointment after your 20 week scan x

MrsC87 · 28/02/2019 13:15

God knows @ChaosMoon, but she needs a career change.
I have to at 28 weeks @CookieWaffle, not looking forward to that! x

CookieWaffle · 28/02/2019 14:36

@MrsC87 I hear it's a lot of waiting around. I have to take the whole day off for it! Got mine in May. Take a book with you :)

sunshine1987 · 28/02/2019 16:38

Just bought my bubba’s first outfit 🙈 it’s a downward spiral from here......

Crossfitgirl · 28/02/2019 16:53

@chaosmoon enjoy your time off!
@mrsc87 my midwife told me just yesterday that you can get your mat B1 form any time after 20 weeks. So she said it would either be my 24 week appointment, or I can ring and ask for it any time after 20 weeks and the midwife would post it out to me. Don't know if that's the same elsewhere though?
@ranchorelaxo ahh sounds complicated! We could just add each other as friends then make the group? Lol let us know how you get on, maybe it's a lost cause
@cookiewaffle nope not been asked to do a glucose test. Peed in a tube though! Think that's testing for proteins though. Are they testing for gestational diabetes?
@sunshine1987 eeeeek exciting! What did you get??

sunshine1987 · 28/02/2019 17:10

@crossfitgirl as we’re not finding out it’s not as exciting lol, but bought this with a little matching hat 🙈

GemmaJen · 28/02/2019 20:49

Well I got a letter from the hospital for a consultant appointment - the miwife wasn't sure if they'd want to see me because of the low platelets. Probably means I'll have to tell work earlier than I wanted to as I've already swung an hour or two off for the scan, not sure I can do the same for other appointments. When did you all inform work? I'm a bit worried my manager will freak, as she's under a lot of pressure at the moment.

Crossfitgirl · 28/02/2019 21:52

@gemmajen I told my manager at 7 weeks. I had days off with sickness and figured I'd probably feel shit for a while so I may as well tell them. They were really supportive. And my manager is under huge pressure too, with already about 7 people either off on mat leave or pregnant at the moment. Is that the only reason you don't want to tell them? To not worry them? If so, I would just get it over and done with. The sooner they can start planning ahead, the better it will be for them anyway.... And they will have to keep it confidential so it's not like you're announcing it, just a need to know basis. It also means you can then take the paid time you're entitled to, you don't have to worry about fibbing about time off or reasons you aren't feeling well etc, and actually means they have to look out for you more.
Obviously though, if you don't feel comfortable telling work yet then don't :-) how far on are you at the mo? Xxx

ChaosMoon · 01/03/2019 06:57

I've told mine soon after I found out at 4 and something, as I had a bleed and had to go for a follow-up blood test on the day of some really important meetings. My manager is possible the world's most stressed person, but he was wonderful about it. I think knowing it was still a long way off probably helped.

That's so cute @sunshine1987!

@CookieWaffle it actually want as bad as I thought from a fasting perspective. They didn't actually tell me that I want supposed to leave in the middle though (in fact she actively said "come back at X time", implying that I would have been somewhere to come back from.) So when I did get back, she tried not to do the follow up test, saying I'd be positive for diabetes because of moved and would have to get it done again. I pushed for her to test anyway and it was fine, but it was really annoying and slightly stressful waiting for the results.

CookieWaffle · 01/03/2019 08:41

@ChaosMoon sounds like my experience with everything so far, they tell you lots of things but not the important bits! Though I was told I'd be there all morning at least.

@Crossfitgirl yeah it's a diabetes test. I have to take some sugar (so sad) then get tested 2 hours later.

I wanted to wait for a while before I told my boss but it didn't work out that way and they learned earlier. Even though they're pretty stressed at the moment they have been very supportive so far.

stormtrooperjulian · 01/03/2019 09:10

@GemmaJen I’m planning on telling my line manager once I’ve had the 12 week scan results back, just to keep him in the loop, but I’ll be asking him to keep it confidential.

@MrsC87 my midwife said that I’d get my mat B1 at the 25 week appointment but if I needed it earlier then just call her and she’d post it to me

How long after the booking appointment did you guys get your 12 week scan date through?

ChaosMoon · 01/03/2019 09:41

@stormtrooperjulian I actually had the letter my scan date before the letter with my booking appointment. At the booking appointment, I had to tell the midwife when my scan was going to be so she could put it in my notes! Everywhere does it differently so it's worth checking with your trust what their process is.

It's typical isn't it @CookieWaffle!

CookieWaffle · 01/03/2019 09:49

@stormtrooperjulian took a week or 2 to get my letter but as I had to go to the hospital as midwife couldn't find my veins to take blood they also gave me a copy then when I asked the reception desk. That was on the Friday and booking appt was on the Monday so they had arranged it pretty quickly, just the letter took a while.

GemmaJen · 01/03/2019 10:46

@Crossfitgirl I'm just coming up to 12w, scan is on Monday. I'm worried about upsetting her, she's new to the role and I've been doing my best to encourage her to delegate some tasks to me, as she's always complaining about being super stressed and it means she's not giving the team decent management time. However she doesn't seem to want to give anyone responsibility for things, so it's getting frustrating. I know telling her is likely to make her panic and worry about next year's targets - it's unlikely my role will be replaced while I'm on leave and it will make her even less likely to involve me and the team in tasks. I really like her and don't want her to leave the business, but she's heading for burnout if she doesn't start managing more effectively. I just don't want to add another worry to her list. I'm guessing I'll need to tell her on Tuesday, as the consultant app is the week after. At the moment I've just told her I've got a hospital appointment on Monday and she's fine with that.

@stormtrooperjulian I got mine within two weeks of my first booking appointment - my trust do the appointment in two halves. I had to change the date, which was much easier than I was expecting - just by ringing the ultrasound dept.

EltzBee · 01/03/2019 11:00

@GemmaJen I didn't explicitly tell me boss but 'hinted' enough that he knew from about 7 weeks because I was so sick. When I got signed off at 9 weeks, my Dr put on my sick note that I was pregnant so he had something in writing (as did HR) then, my GP said because it's down as pregnancy sickness they can't hold it against you.

I told him with the actual words the week after our 12 week scan when I went back to work, and I notified him in writing this week, after we got our screening results back (as you're meant to have notified them in writing for the legalities of having the time off and things). I have stressed when I spoke to them and again when I put it in writing that it is to be kept strictly confidential, as we've not told anyone other than my parents and now my Nan, and one friend.

Our team is ridiculously busy as well but he's been really nice about it and said some things are more important than work and not to worry about it, they've got things covered whilst I'm not fully up to my normal levels! I wouldn't worry about your boss - yours and babies health comes first, just tell them and make sure it's confidential.

I had my ultrasound date come through 2 weeks after my GP requested it, it just came in the post. I had my booking appointment when I was 10.5 weeks, which was at my GP surgery with the local midwives (I'm South Oxfordshire, all NHS trusts seem to do it differently!). My ultrasound was at the hospital, and after the scan the midwife there gave me a form to go and book my 20 week scan in there and then at the reception desk, which was a good way of doing it (we've got the 1st appointment of the day).

FivexFive · 01/03/2019 17:32

Hi all, just a last update from me before I pop off for total break...

I had my follow up scan today. As expected, no development. I'm booked in for d&c Mon 11th (apparently there's quite a waiting list?!) Can't fault the hospital staff, they're all lovely and very informative. Feeling better to just have it confirmed and have a plan in place. Good news though... I asked if they think my scar tissue could have been / could be in the future, a factor in the failed pregnancy and was told firmly, No. Apparently it may mean discomfort if/when I ever get to late in a pregnancy, due to stretching, but no serious risk. That was load off, I can tell you! Also, they advised waiting until my first proper period following the procedure before trying again, but that should only be about 6/8 weeks all being well.

So I shall be leaving you lovely ladies to it now. Maybe in a month or so I'll be in the ttc board, but will see how things go. The immediate plan is to chill out and treat ourselves a little! I wish you all the best and can't thank you girls enough for all the kindness, support and love on this thread.
Xxxx

EltzBee · 01/03/2019 17:48

@FivexFive sending best wishes your way, and hope to see you back soon - hopefully your rainbow baby is just around the corner. Glad to hear you're feeling better now you have a plan, and that the worry about scar tissue isn't an issue. Look after yourself and take all the time you need xx

Crossfitgirl · 01/03/2019 21:11

@fivexfive sorry to hear that, but thankful there's at least a silver lining in that you had some reassurances for the future. I hope to see you on here not too far away. Xxx

@gemmajen ahh seriously your health and baby comes before her stress levels. It's not your problem she can't do her job properly!

If you've got the time off then it doesnt matter I guess, but in future I wouldn't put any extra pressure on yourself or give up anything you should be being supported with just for the sake of treading eggshells round her. Tbh it sounds like she is a nightmare... If she can't delegate then she's not management material anyway really is she? Lol sorry if a bit harsh. I'm new to a management role and you soon learn to delegate if you want to survive... Plus she will need to know eventually anyway. And maybe having more time to plan would help her stress! Haha. Let us know how you get on xx
