Could this be the very start of labour?

39+1 and as of yesterday afternoon I’ve had a sort of heavy pressure in my bum. Period type pain for the last week or so too. Then from yesterday evening I’ve had a very sharp pain over my bump that lasts maybe 10 seconds or so, although only once every 2 hours ish. Also quite tender lower back ache.

So keen to get things moving now - could this be the slightest hint that things might start to happen soon?!

Midwife not coming out yet, got to call when contractions ‘ramp up a bit’ - I can still talk through them at the mo

Home births are amazing. I've had two and the last one was a home water birth.
It's amazing to be floating about and be able to squat and see your baby come out.
My midwives encouraged me to put my hands down and help my dd be born.
That's something that will be with me forever.

We are having a boy, getting very excited to meet him now. I’ve got in the bath because it was all feeling quite intense, and now I wish I’d hired a birthing pool because it’s very relaxing in here.

Hope you enjoyed your relaxing bath! Have the contractions “ramped up” now, enough for the midwives to come? It won’t be long until you’re having lovely snuggled with your boy.

Yes book a birthing pool next time op or buy one like I did. Money well spent and it didn't take long to fill either. As soon as I had my last internal and told I could get in, I didn't get out until after the birth and even then I was pretty reluctant to move as baby and I were so comfortable Grin got lots of photos of me just resting my head on the side in between contractions which I didn't even realise were being taken.

Still no midwife! I need to be having at least 3 contractions per 10 minutes for over an hour apparently. Not far off though, they are definitely getting more frequent and I’m struggling to breathe through them now!
