Could this be the very start of labour?

Please say yes!

39+1 and as of yesterday afternoon I’ve had a sort of heavy pressure in my bum. Period type pain for the last week or so too. Then from yesterday evening I’ve had a very sharp pain over my bump that lasts maybe 10 seconds or so, although only once every 2 hours ish. Also quite tender lower back ache.

So keen to get things moving now - could this be the slightest hint that things might start to happen soon?!

Ooh, following for a live birth thread. I'm in the medical field! 😃 (sorry, deliberately vague)

user1479988429 · 05/01/2019 08:16

Good luck xx

W0MANlikeME · 05/01/2019 08:20

Ooo exciting

Try a bath? Stops everything if its not real deal

GinGeum · 05/01/2019 08:22

Bath is running! I hope it will be a live birth thread and not another ‘nothing is happening’ thread Grin

Fingers crossed!

Fingers crossed, that's how my labour started with my first! Good luck!

harrypotterfan1604 · 05/01/2019 08:43

Ahh exciting! Fingers crossed it’s the real deal! I’ve had a few false alarms
Myself so when I actually go into labour I doubt I’ll believe it! Good luck!

GinGeum · 05/01/2019 09:09

Okay, I’m out of the bath and pains still seem to be keeping coming. I also get this weird jittery/swimmy feeling before each pain, almost like I’m very very hungry (I’ve had breakfast!)

Hope you don’t mind me wittering on. If this is the real deal, it will be nice to read back on how it all progressed (and also maybe help anyone else in future who, like me, has spent the last few weeks frantically googling symptoms of whether they’re in labour or not Grin)

This sounds pretty promising!

Wingbing · 05/01/2019 09:13

Ooh please keep wittering!

I love a live birth thread, good luck.

harrypotterfan1604 · 05/01/2019 09:18

Wither away! I’m 40+1 so this could be a useful thread for me x

harrypotterfan1604 · 05/01/2019 09:18

That should say witter 😂 please don’t wither away 😂

W0MANlikeME · 05/01/2019 09:25

Im 6+1 so maybe ill look back here in 32+ weeks Grin

harrypotterfan1604 · 05/01/2019 09:33

Bouncing on my ball hoping to be joining in with some pains today 🤞🏻🤦🏼‍♀️

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 05/01/2019 09:36

How exciting OP! Give your DH a call just to let him know something might be happening. He can then prepare himself to come running if he needs to. Good luck Star

WhiteWashGails · 05/01/2019 09:36

I’m so excited for you! I’m 38 weeks tomorrow and want this for me so much !!

rainbowstardrops · 05/01/2019 10:27

Ooh exciting! I love a live birth thread - especially with a baby pic at the end!
I'd give your DH a call just to warn him the pains haven't eased off after your bath
Good luck!

le42 · 05/01/2019 10:30

Good luck!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

wasthataburp · 05/01/2019 10:39

Following with interest!! Hoping this is me soon!!!

Owlettele · 05/01/2019 10:42

Good luck op. I hope you get your relaxed home birth. It must be amazing to tuck up in to your own bed with newborn after it's all over 😀💐

GinGeum · 05/01/2019 10:47

Argh, it was all looking so promising so I cleaned the kitchen and filled up the biscuit tin for the midwives, and now it’s all bloody stopped again!

Noooo :( it does sound like your on the right track though.
Is anyone available to come for a walk with you? I wouldnt go on your own but a little walk might kick things off again.

GinGeum · 05/01/2019 10:57

DH should be home soon so maybe I’ll get him to come out, or I might do a few laps of the garden. Straight after I posted that last post, the jittery feeling came back and I have a bit of back pain again. Maybe it hasn’t all gone completely. God, it’s hard to know! I’ve never been so keen to be in agony!
