I’m sure there’s loads of threads like this!
I’m due March 12th with my first - a little girl.
I have 10+2 days left and I am beyond bored! I have gone through clothes so many times and arranged them, I have washed all the pushchair and Moses basket and cot stuff. I have the majority of stuff we need only need a few minor bits (bathing stuff, extra bedding etc) but waiting on money for that!
I have had the easiest pregnancy only really suffering with back ache and hip pain every so often (touch wood it doesn’t change) and it still doesn’t feel real that I am having a baby but I’m impatient and bored now!
Anyone else feeling the same?!

Just has first lot of bloods taken and the drink, 75ml of glucose 🤢
It didn’t taste too bad, like a Capri sun spiked with sugar!
Have to wait 2 hours in the waiting room now, I’m shaking like a leaf!

IrishAceyMac13 · 21/01/2019 10:11

1 hour 10 minutes into the test and I feel like crap! Just want to sleep!
Sorry for the constant posts, trying to take my mind off it!
Glad I brought a sandwich to have after as I’m starving!

Beherenow32 · 21/01/2019 10:37

@IrishAceyMac13 sounds hard going. Hope it’s over soon and good luck

Veuve1985 · 21/01/2019 10:47

@irishAceyMac13 sounds horrible!! I wonder why I haven’t had to do this?!?? Chin up!! Hopefully you get good results xxxx

IrishAceyMac13 · 21/01/2019 12:56

Got home at 11, had food and slept for nearly 3 hours but woke up feeling crap still, so shaky! It’s really messed my blood sugars up! Hopefully I’ll feel better tomorrow!

Thank you @beherenow!

@veuve - I had to have it done as my bmi was ever so slightly over the threshold when I had my first booking appointment with the midwife, and also because I’m measuring ahead and baby’s tummy was off the charts at my 20 week scan!
The nurse was pretty horrible, you’re meant to get 5 minutes to drink the horrible stuff but she made me down it in less than a minute, then she said because I felt so crap after 2 hours it more than likely means I have it! I was like cheers for making me feel even worse lol! Xxx

HidCat · 21/01/2019 13:30

@IrishAceyMac13 I had the shakes big time after mine and it was fine so try not to dwell.

IrishAceyMac13 · 21/01/2019 13:44

@hidcat - I’m glad yours turned out well although sorry you had to have one too! I’m starting to feel more human after some toast, absolutely ravenous though!

I see my midwife Thursday then whooping cough Jab on Friday, I’m spending a lot of time at the drs this week it seems haha

Firsttimetobe2019 · 21/01/2019 19:49

Hi girls sorry I’ve been quiet! We swapped the rooms around and now I’m experiencing complete heart break! I have lost all the scan photos I had 😭 they were all kept together in one photo booklet thing and I’ve checked every drawer and cupboard😭 I’ve got one in a frame but I wanted more to put up in the photo album I’ve just has made!!!

@IrishAceyMac13 oh my that sounds awful! Hope you’re feeling better I couldn’t do that🤢

@firsttimetobe2019 - oh no bless you babe, they’ve got to be somewhere surely! If you’ve been moving furniture they’ve not fallen behind any of the stuff you’ve moved have they? Or slid under anything like the cot? They will turn up!
Still feeling pretty rough, more exhausted than anything else 😴 it’s really messed with my sugars as I kept crashing throughout today, hopefully a good nights sleep will sort me out though!
I rang the midwife unit as my wee girl hasn’t been as active since the test, and they said the nurse should have informed me that baby can have a sugar rush then crash too! Ive been feeling her but they said just keep an eye on her overnight and if she’s still quiet in the morning after breakfast then call them back. It’s the fasting too that can really upset baby!

HidCat · 21/01/2019 21:13

@Firsttimetobe2019 oh no! I'm sure they'll turn up soon!

Firsttimetobe2019 · 21/01/2019 21:15

@IrishAceyMac13 I have literally looked everywhere you can think of! I’ve put a post on Facebook aswell incase I lost them while I walked to the doctors on Friday but i’m sure they were not in my book in the first place!
Surely that’s dangerous to baby! Gosh, that’s a lot to expect during pregnancy isn’t it! Try maybe a lucozade or something to replace and glucose you’ve lost and get your sugars at a better level?! X

@firsttimetobe2019 - oh no, I really hope they turn up soon, I’d be gutted 😩 that’s a good idea putting it on Facebook just in case you accidentally took them out with you! I’m trying to think where else you could look, I’m sure they will turn up though!
Aye I know right! I felt so blind sided as I had no idea way to expect, and the nurse didn’t even know how long the bloods take to come back! The lady at the maternity unit said they really need to make more women aware of the side effects, especially baby potentially being less active!
She’s just given me some hard kicks so I’m not as worried as I was! I couldn’t believe it, 75g of glucose that she made me drink in less than a minute, no wonder my sugars are all over the place! I had a can of coke with my dinner and I’ve not crashed since then, that was 4 hours ago so I think you’re on to something with bringing the sugars up! They should really tell you the best things to eat afterwards as it just feels like there’s no information! I imagine it would have been better if it was done at the hospital as they monitor you better. This was done at the drs and she took blood, gave me the drink then told me to sit in the waiting room for 2 hours on my own! X

Firsttimetobe2019 · 21/01/2019 23:10

@IrishAceyMac13 they can be absolutely useless! I can’t believe that! I’d have suggested something full of carbs and something sweet! You must have regulated yourself back out! My sugars dropped the other day and I was swaying and dizzy it was horrible so I can only imagine how icky you felt!
I’m hoping they turn up! I’m going to ring the hospital and the doctors tomorrow to check! Xx

OP posts:
IrishAceyMac13 · 22/01/2019 02:44

@firsttimetobe2019! They really can be useless! I was tempted to google what to eat then I realised it would probably freak me out as google is full of horror stories lol! I don’t know why they don’t have leaflets or even just a rough guide of what to expect! I was shaking like a leaf and the nurse kept saying ‘ooo that’s a bad sign’ felt like telling her to drink 75ml of glucose and see how she felt haha! I’m sure they will turn up, they must be somewhere :) that’s a good idea, cover all bases!
I’ve been woken up by a very happy little lady who’s currently going crazy, 02.43am and I don’t mind at all 😍 xx

IrishAceyMac13 · 22/01/2019 10:59

Off to the hospital for reduced movements 😩 haven’t felt her since 4am, terrified something is wrong 😩

Beherenow32 · 22/01/2019 11:23

@IrishAceyMac13 thinking of you. Hopefully she has just changed position x

Firsttimetobe2019 · 22/01/2019 11:50

@IrishAceyMac13 - My messages wouldn’t post last night☹️ Not a clue what went on there! Make sure you keep us updated! Hopefully it’s just another lazy day! Good luck Hun xxx

Phew she’s absolutely perfect, they are slightly concerned with how big I’m measuring so will have a scan within 48-72 hours to check how much she weighs, may have to be induced around 36-38 weeks dependent on how that goes! They have no concerns though and she told me off for jot ringing sooner, whoops! I could hear her moving on the monitor but couldn’t feel her, then she flipped and. Is she’s going crazy xxx

IrishAceyMac13 · 22/01/2019 14:18

The hospital called, I have a scan at 4pm tomorrow 😊 I’m excited to see my wee princess again and find out how much she weighs 😊

Beherenow32 · 22/01/2019 15:08

@IrishAceyMac13 fab news! Scan will be nice. I feel like baby is really heavy just now, but my bump is measuring just right. Not sure how I’ll cope if she keeps growing until over 40 weeks! 🙈 x

IrishAceyMac13 · 22/01/2019 15:27

@beherenow - it will definitely be nice to see her and find out how much she weighs :) it’s crazy isn’t it, I know what you mean I feel like she is really heavy too! It’s crazy to think all they do now is put weight on!

Was watching tv half hour ago and suddenly everything went blurry then black, only lasted about 30 seconds but was horrible!

IrishAceyMac13 · 22/01/2019 16:15

Dr wants me to go to hospital and have an ecg done as a precaution because I had heart palpitations before Blacking out earlier, we’ll isnt today fun 😂😫🤦🏻‍♀️

Firsttimetobe2019 · 22/01/2019 16:39

@IrishAceyMac13 - Glad littlest ones ok! Oh goodness I hope you’re ok! Have you got anyone with you?! Maybe your brothers need to move their rota forward! Hope everything goes well! Please keep updated x

OP posts:
Beherenow32 · 22/01/2019 16:48

@IrishAceyMac13 I had an ECG due to heart palpitations. Mine’s seem to have been caused by being anaemic. I haven’t ever blacked out though! Hope you’re ok x

HidCat · 22/01/2019 16:57

@IrishAceyMac13 glad they're checking you out, hope it's all good for you. Sounds like you've had a stressful few days.
