I’m sure there’s loads of threads like this!
I’m due March 12th with my first - a little girl.
I have 10+2 days left and I am beyond bored! I have gone through clothes so many times and arranged them, I have washed all the pushchair and Moses basket and cot stuff. I have the majority of stuff we need only need a few minor bits (bathing stuff, extra bedding etc) but waiting on money for that!
I have had the easiest pregnancy only really suffering with back ache and hip pain every so often (touch wood it doesn’t change) and it still doesn’t feel real that I am having a baby but I’m impatient and bored now!
Anyone else feeling the same?!

Oh gosh I’m 31 weeks...I need to start packing mine too!!!

Firsttimetobe2019 · 15/01/2019 18:05

The pictures of my local one is amazing!
They’ve put me at a risk of pre-eclampsia but I have no signs of it as of yet so I’m worried that might effect me being able to go in there? I would hate to be in the regular labour ward the rooms are sooo tiny! But whatever’s best for me and baby!
So far for my hospital bag i’ve got in it:

  • Underwear
  • Maternity Pads
  • Nighty (Black to hide slime😂)
  • Spare Jammas
  • Socks
  • Breast pads.
  • Shower gel
The rest of the bits such as snacks, hair brush, hair bands, dressing gown, slippers, lip balm, deodorant will go in last minute! Waiting for baby’s changing bag to turn up so I can pack that!

@firsttimetobe2019 thank you!!! You’ve started to put together my list! I hadn’t a clue what I needed!!

Exhaustedmummy1811 · 15/01/2019 18:38

@firsttimetobe did they say why your high risk of getting pre eclampsia?

Firsttimetobe2019 · 15/01/2019 19:47

@Exhaustedmummy1811 only because my mum had it like 12 years ago!? So they’ve had me on aspirin since I found out I was pregnant!

@Veuve1985 i’ve got a whole list! I’ll attach the photos for you

Oh that’s amazing!!!!

Exhaustedmummy1811 · 15/01/2019 21:50

Oh OK thats fine I just wondered as my midwife likes to over exaggerate everything and has pretty much told me I'm high risk for most things haha but hadn't mentioned pre eclampsia

Firsttimetobe2019 · 15/01/2019 23:12

@Exhaustedmummy1811 - oh no really? My midwives are useless and tell me sod all🙄
I’m unsure whether I’m at risk due to my weight/BMI I was only 11 stone when I conceived but I’m supposedly classified as overweight? Apparently that’s a risk factor but I have no clue🙄

So looking forward to seeing the midwife tomorrow, going to get some answers about the strep b and hopefully start looking at my birth plan!

Veuve1985 · 17/01/2019 17:53

@firsttimetobe2019 good luck! Hope you get the answers you need!!

Firsttimetobe2019 · 17/01/2019 18:10

@Veuve1985 I really hope so! I’ll let you all know!
I hope everyone’s doing well!
I’m stuck making a decision on whether to turn our front room into our bedroom before babies here purely because it’s bigger and I’ve noticed theirs damp/mould showing around the baby’s cot! The only downfall of swapping rooms is the kitchen is connected to the front room but can get folding doors to put on it!

Veuve1985 · 17/01/2019 18:48

@firsttimetobe2019, it’s a hard one....we had a similar problem with one room, so although we’re making it the nursery eventually..,we’ve put anti mould paint and dehumidifier in there...and baby will sleep with me downstairs in the chicco cot next to the sofa until she’s 6 months, when she can go in the nursery.

Firsttimetobe2019 · 17/01/2019 21:46

@Veuve1985 we’ve already done that! We’ve done damp sealant, anti mould paint and regularly use a dehumidifier but I believe it’s to do with the fact we are in a basement flat and the wall I’m referring too is below ground level in the back of the house and it gets no sunlight so it’s goinf to be an ongoing issue🙄
Until we can find a bigger place I think the front room might have to do x

Veuve1985 · 17/01/2019 22:12

@firsttimetobe2019 oh no! Yeah, sounds like you’ve done everything you can! At the end of the day? As long as baby and you are happy, that’s all that matters! X

IrishAceyMac13 · 18/01/2019 13:48

Afternoon!
Sorry I’ve been awol, works been insane and I’m really struggling with my sciatica now!
I hope everyone is well :)

I’m just ordering the last things I need for my hospital bag, then I can pack it! I ventured round town on my lunch break and I honestly thought it was going to kill me off 😂
People keep saying to me how big I am haha, most think I’m due in a couple weeks and are shocked when I say 26th March 😂

I’ve got the horrible diabetes gtt test thing on Monday, not looking forward to that! See my midwife on Thursday too Grin

Moses basket is up, I’m nesting like crazy at the moment! Going to put the cot up tomorrow as just waiting for the nursery paint to dry :)

Hello everyone, I'm a first timer due 14th march so just thought I'd say hi! Am already soooo over being pregnant my little has moved position I think and is proving to be very uncomfortable right now, thankfully thanks to holiday I only have one week left at work and I Can't wait 😂 x

Lookingforadvice123 · 18/01/2019 18:27

If it's your first, I urge you to just enjoy the free me-time, and not having any responsibility. Do nothing in your spare time, or do what you love eg shopping, watching films, swimming, meeting friends for lunch. Honestly, you will never be every truly alone/free again.

And also SLEEP! I know you think you're used to broken nights now...but you're not, honestly. Newborn nights are so different, you're up completely against your will. No just lying in bed tossing and turning, you'll be up feeding/changing/holding a baby who won't be put down!

Can you tell I'm pregnant with my second Grin I finish for maternity leave soon (due in February) and it's going to be so different this time round having a busy toddler to look after before the baby comes!

Firsttimetobe2019 · 18/01/2019 19:19

@IrishAceyMac13 - ahhh no worries babe! Glad your ok! How exciting you’re getting there! Still sucks about the sciatica! Take it easy and relaaaxx while you can!
I will finally be able to nest properly next week! We’ve decided we’re going to move the rooms around as it benefits us all a lot more so I should be getting there by next week!😬

My midwife appointment went well she’s really happy with how she’s growing, her heads down, ass is all to the left and hands and feet are pointing right under my ribs! Next time I see her i’ll be chatting about my birth plan!😬 I saw the top midwife today as mine still aren’t back!! So I’m hoping to book into the MLU when I see them!

@Milligan123 congrats! Quite a few of us are quite close in due date! It’s exciting! I feel like it’s a race to the finish line now though😉😂

@Lookingforadvice123 don’t you worry I will be resting up! The fatigue comes and goes a lot at the moment and it’s driving me mad 😂

First bit is up in what will be the nursery when she sleeps here in 6 months...il store most things and change her in here (when ppl are round) but here’s our new changing table! Phew!! One thing down....a million to go!

Due in March and so bored.
IrishAceyMac13 · 18/01/2019 20:15

@firsttimetobe2019 - I’m glad you’re doing good too treacle! I’m currently in the bath as we speak haha, definitely relaxing whilst I still can! That’s a grand idea moving the rooms around, especially as it will benefit you all, yay!
I’m glad your midwife appointment went well 😁 that’s so exciting to think you’ll be discussing your birth plan next time you see her! I’m hoping to give birth in the MLU too, last time I saw my midwife she said everything’s on track to be able to do that 🙏🏻

Everyone’s due ahead of me, it’s not fair haha 😂

My gaffer is a legend, he’s texted me saying I can work from home up until my maternity leave starts as I’m struggling so bad, I could have cried with relief 😂
I had 2 lovely days heartburn free, but unfortunately it’s returned with a vengeance 😩 if she comes out with no hair I will probably collapse in shock after all this heartburn 😂

I’ve cleaned and moved so much around today, waiting for the flooring for the living room to be delivered then I can get that down. Wee princess’ cot will be going up tomorrow all being well!
I need to order the last few bits for my hospital bag which I will order over the weekend then it’s all systems go!

My health visitor is coming on the 18th feb, feels very close now!

Roll on February when we can finally say we are having our babies the next month 😁😁

IrishAceyMac13 · 18/01/2019 20:16

Veuve - ooo that’s gorgeous and looks very smart too!

Veuve1985 · 18/01/2019 21:08

@irishAceymac13 thanks Hun! Just need to put the matching cot bed up now!!! Try remegel for the heartburn! It’s less chalky than others! Can’t wait til we can say we’re due next month either!

HidCat · 19/01/2019 07:49

@Milligan123 congratulations and welcome. Sounds like bliss finishing soon!

Sounds like the third trimester is hitting us all hard - I can't get over the difference in how I feel now to over Christmas. I've worked out that there is only one chair that doesn't give me hip and back pain after lengthy meetings and that's my office chair so will be dragging that along to all meetings from now on lol.

IrishAceyMac13 · 21/01/2019 07:24

Ugh. Just getting ready now for the GTT test. Need to be at the drs for 8.45, really not looking forward to it! I’m so hungry as you have to fast from midnight until it’s over which sucks, and is also making me hella grumpy lol. I’d do anything to keep my wee baby girl safe so this is just something that needs to be done :)
Hope everyone is well!
