I’m sure there’s loads of threads like this!
I’m due March 12th with my first - a little girl.
I have 10+2 days left and I am beyond bored! I have gone through clothes so many times and arranged them, I have washed all the pushchair and Moses basket and cot stuff. I have the majority of stuff we need only need a few minor bits (bathing stuff, extra bedding etc) but waiting on money for that!
I have had the easiest pregnancy only really suffering with back ache and hip pain every so often (touch wood it doesn’t change) and it still doesn’t feel real that I am having a baby but I’m impatient and bored now!
Anyone else feeling the same?!

@beherenow32 - it certainly will be, I’m going to pack my hospital bag next week too; then that’s pretty much everything done apart from re carpeting which will take a couple weeks :)
Oh bless you, that doesn’t sound good! Have you tried making smoothies and things like that? May be easier for you :)
Food wise I have to eat every couple of hours else I get the shakes and go dizzy, my midwife said it’s bevause baby is taking everything from me and also because they put on half a pound a week, sometimes more at this stage!
This strange child of mine loves cucumber and anything bread related haha, currently can’t get enough of hot cross buns! I have to take snacks with me when I go out else I’ll get the shakes! Try not to worry too much, baby will be taking everything they need from you, I know it’s easier said than done though! X

HidCat · 25/01/2019 19:29

@Beherenow32 my diet is awful. Just want beige carbs all the time. Trying to make sure I have soup or salad at lunch to balance it out a bit at least.

@IrishAceyMac13 I really need to do the same but just can't get motivated. I'm hoping that it will kick in at some point.

IrishAceyMac13 · 27/01/2019 06:16

Been in hospital since 7pm yesterday as I haven’t been able to breathe properly. Suspected blood clots on my lungs. Had 3 nebulisers which have got rid of the wheezing but 24 hours later and I’m still struggling for breath.
Haven’t been sleep yet. Waiting for test results

Beherenow32 · 27/01/2019 09:59

@IrishAceyMac13 you haven’t had an easy time! Hope you get results soon and all ok x

IrishAceyMac13 · 27/01/2019 10:11

@beherenow32 - they have confirmed clots on my lungs and also severe asthma 😫 they are talking about moving me to a specialist heart and breathing hospital as they are better equipped to deal with me. Thankfully baby is fine at the time being! This sucks so bad X

IrishAceyMac13 · 27/01/2019 11:12

They’ve changed the plan slightly after the senior dr reviewed my notes, ecg results and blood results.
They are now keeping me at this hospital as they want to keep an eye on baby. They’ve given me a strong inhaler to prevent the asthma ever getting as bad as it did yesterday.
They are also going to continue giving me blood thinner injections twice a day for 6 months. They picked up an abnormality on my ecg and also my bloods, so they feel the best course of action is to have a Jelly scan of my heart and also stay on the blood thinners.
The blood thinners automatically put me at high risk for this pregnancy, so I’ll be monitored a lot more closely!
They are going to show me how to inject the blood thinners at home, and all being well I should be home tomorrow!

Beherenow32 · 27/01/2019 14:41

@IrishAceyMac13 sorry to hear that. It’s a lot to go through. Pregnancy can be hard enough without complications. Take care xx

IrishAceyMac13 · 27/01/2019 16:18

The jelly heart results Weren’t great, the right side of my heart is enlarged due to the clot on my lungs, thankfully the injections will stop it from getting any worse. I’ll be seeing a specialist midwife team who specialise in the blood clots and lung problems etc so it’s not all bad. Waiting for the drs to come round and explain in more detail, I’m so glad they caught it in time!

Thank you beherenow32 xx

IrishAceyMac13 · 27/01/2019 20:45

As long as I have a good night breathing wise tonight, and I manage to inject myself tomorrow, then I’ll be able to go home tomorrow yay! They will need to hold a meeting with all the people involved in my care including new midwives, to work out the best plan of action and how often I should see them.
Hopefully I’ll make it to full term, but as long as this wee one is born happy and healthy that’s all that matters to me!

HidCat · 28/01/2019 08:25

@IrishAceyMac13 so glad they found the cause and can treat you accordingly. I hope it's brought under control ASAP. Is it pregnancy related or is this a problem you've had before?

IrishAceyMac13 · 28/01/2019 09:56

Yay I’m going home at around lunch time after a great night breathing wise and injecting myself this morning no problem! I’m just relaxing and reading the paper whilst I wait for pharmacy to prepare my injections to take home :)

@hidcat - I’ve had an irregular heartbeat all my life but it’s never caused any problems. They are saying the blood clots are pregnancy related and the blood thinning shots for 6 months will dissolve them away! My heart has been working over time to compensate, so it’s a good job I came in and they found the clots before things got a lot worse!
Also been given 2 inhalers should I need them :)
I hope you are well :)

IrishAceyMac13 · 28/01/2019 14:24

I’m home yay :)

Beherenow32 · 28/01/2019 15:45

@IrishAceyMac13 that’s good. Take your time to recover.

I’ve been struggling with insomnia 😔 not sure how to fix that though. X

HidCat · 28/01/2019 16:30

@IrishAceyMac13 that's great news! I had 6weeks if anti coagulant injections after DS so I can relate (preventative for me though).

Feeling good today though starting to flag a little bit now. Looking forward to finishing in half an hour and getting home.

IrishAceyMac13 · 29/01/2019 11:29

Morning! It’s a good job I have alarms set for my injections as I slept for 12 hours straight!
Managed to go to the post office and bakery this morning.
Had some Braxton Hicks which weren’t fun haha.
Hospital have told me to pack my hospital bag and also an emergency bag with some clothes, toiletries etc that needs to stay in my bag incase I have to be rushed back in!
I have a cupboard in my kitchen with a bag in that contains some snacks and those isotonic drinks in, so that when I’m in labour I just grab that, my hospital bag and car seat then I’m good to go!

I’ve got an appointment with an anaesthesiologist on the 13th, they want a worst case scenario plan in place incase I’m unable to have a natural birth due to my breathing or complications etc. They said at the hospital in all likelihood the worst case scenario would be me under a general anaesthetic! I will know more on the 13th though :) waiting on an appointment with the haematology drs and midwives, and now also see my midwife weekly, so it’s non stop crazy here haha.
I need to ring the health visitor and ask if she can come after the birth because I’m having appointments and monitoring daily so I’m never really at home!

The injections aren’t as bad as I thought they would be, I don’t like the stinging as the medicine goes in, but I’m sure I’ll get used to that! I also have my new inhaler which makes me shake like a leaf but means I’m able to breathe so easily haha. I can’t believe I can lay down without wheezing, it’s amazing!

I hope everyone else is doing well :) not long to go now ladies! 😁

Beherenow32 · 29/01/2019 19:07

@IrishAceyMac13 good to be prepared with the bag, for sure!
Once the first injections are done, it’s not so bad. Sounds like you’re doing ok with that.

I made a list for hospital bag, but it doesn’t look like very much. Hopefully won’t be in for ages and need a lot x

HidCat · 29/01/2019 20:16

@IrishAceyMac13 sounds like all bases are covered! I'm glad you're feeling a bit better now.

Firsttimetobe2019 · 29/01/2019 21:06

Hi ladies! Just caught up hope everyone’s doing well!
@IrishAceyMac13 - Oh god what a journey you’ve had! Least it’s under control now and you’re being watched and monitored like a hawk! I cannot imagine how worried you must have been!

@Beherenow32 @HidCat I hope you ladies are doing ok too!

Bump and I have been busy redecorating, only just finished the room, built a huge wardrobe today (well partner did I instructed him😂) and have rearranged the room accordingly I personally think it’s perfect!😍 I’m so excited for her to arrive now we hit 34 weeks today and i’ve only just noticed that she loves it when I “massage” my belly in the shower with my shower puff thing! I’ve never seen my stomach make so many different shapes😂

Picture of room attatched - in the corner that’s hidden is the huge wardrobe that is mostly taken over by Little Ones clothes😂😍 Excuse the mess I haven’t completely tidied yet but I’m doing that now😂

Due in March and so bored.

@Firsttimetobe2019 very nice. I’m jealous. We have everything still in boxes crammed into a cupboard 🙊

Our last ante natal class today. Been enjoying them, but means closer to baby’s arrival x

Firsttimetobe2019 · 30/01/2019 11:59

@Beherenow32
I haven’t had a chance to get to any? They’re all too far from me! Is this going to be something I regret?!

IrishAceyMac13 · 30/01/2019 15:38

Afternoon everyone! Hope you are well 😁
@firsttimetobe2019 - that room looks amazing, so cosy! I love your cot too it’s beautiful 😍
I’m very glad to be being watched like a hawk by so many health care people, I’m sad I can’t have my water birth but if they hadn’t of caught this blood clot it would have turned life threatening, so I’m feeling very greatful to be carrying my baby girl and will take whatever birth comes my way :)
That’s so sweet that she loves the shower puff haha, my girl loves it when I splash my bump in the bath!

@beherenow32 - that’s good that you’ve got your list for your hospital bag! My bag is huge but that’s because there is a high probability of me staying in for a while, so best to be prepared :)

@hidcat - thank you very Much, all bases are definitely being covered :) I hope you’re well!

My gaffer has put me on maternity leave starting immediately as he doesn’t want me overdoing myself and getting poorly again! I had a terrible day breathing wise yesterday, but today’s been a fantastic day with my breathing so I’m in a grand mood!
Since I came out of hospital I’ve felt baby girls kicks and movements so strong, it’s like now I’m better she’s somehow stronger and more active, sounds crazy I know haha.
My midwife says my bump has dropped, I noticed it too, so that’s helping my breathing as she’s no longer all up in my ribs the wee rascal!
I’m meant to have my whooping cough jab tomorrow after they cancelled my last one! The hospital said it’s fine to have it when on blood thinners, but it’s up to the nurse whether she’s comfortable administering it knowing I’m on blood thinners 🤷🏻‍♀️ This nurse really doesn’t like me haha so I’m not sure if she will do it or not! We shall see!

My cot sheets have arrived, so I’ll get them put on later! one of my brothers is currently laying the flooring in the living room, yay! Goodbye horrible concrete!

Beherenow32 · 30/01/2019 15:52

@Firsttimetobe2019 it’s not the end of the world if you can’t make the classes. I think the one I learnt the most was about feeding (really all breastfeeding), but not much else apart from that. I just thought they were nice to do.

@IrishAceyMac13 you’re very positive with everything that’s went on! That’s good. I’m starting reduced hours at work, but have been really sore (think it’s sciatica), so will see how I get on.

When is everyone next at the midwife? I’m there next week. I love them for hearing the heartbeat and getting bump measured. Xx

Firsttimetobe2019 · 30/01/2019 19:54

@IrishAceyMac13 Oh good! It’s been a bumpy road for you but it’s good it’s a journey you can still enjoy! You’ll have to upload pics!
I’ve got a cold... again and it is taking all life out of me! Also the sore hips are back but baby’s happy as ever! I do not recommend getting low Iron Levels🤢 The constipation is killer🤢 sorry TMI😂

@Beherenow32 what was your last figures?!
I’m back with a midwife on the 8th not sure whether mine will be back by then though! My last lot of measurements were 27cm on 21/12/18 and the most recent are 32cm on 18/1/19 I don’t feel like I’ve grown but I have clearly!

UPDATE! I FOUND MY SCANS! LITERALLY JUST NOW They were underneath a pull out drawer! How they got there I have no idea as nothing can fall out the back!

OP posts:
Beherenow32 · 30/01/2019 20:10

@Firsttimetobe2019 amazing news about your scans! Do you have a plan on where to keep them? I don’t know if I should use a photo album or scrap book.
I’m also on iron tablets. Hate them!
On 17th, I was measuring 32 (I was 32 weeks the next day). I don’t feel bigger either, but I think all will be ok. Baby feels heavy x

HidCat · 30/01/2019 20:57

@Firsttimetobe2019 so glad you found them! What a relief.

@IrishAceyMac13 I'm doing well thanks. Was quite uncomfortable earlier but has eased a bit. Work told me to work from home today as it was icy out and they didn't want me to risk it. Someone else slipped apparently so it looks like it was a good call!
