@CrystalBlaze that's so exciting!

sunshine1987 · 12/12/2018 21:58

@crossfitgirl I want to pee on a stick just so I have one to keep reminding myself I’m pregnant, devastated when the digital ones batteries ran out 😂 I’ve started to get nausea in the evenings and first thing now, now wondering why we wanted it, we’re going to regret this lol 🙈 xx

ChaosMoon · 13/12/2018 19:23

Just logged on for the first time since yesterday. What a rollercoaster! I'm really glad everything's ok @MrsC87.

Just a heads up ladies, your levels of HCG will now double every two days. At some point it gets so high that you'll get a false negative if you poas. Just one of those terrifying but normal things that no-one tells you about. I thought I'd warn you before you get to that point!

@mrsof20118 I hope you can find your "safe foods" soon. Managing the nausea can be a nightmare.

I was hosting a video conference today when the baby started kicking me like mad and jumped on my bladder. I've never been so scared that I was going to wet myself. I had to run out of the room to go to the loo and now everyone thinks I'm a crazy person!

Crossfitgirl · 13/12/2018 20:13

Ahh @mrsof20118 well there's a good excuse to keep grazing :-) @sunshine1987 you're slightly ahead of me aren't you? I'm 5+4 today. I haven't noticed nausea as such but occasional excess saliva and an urge to not go hungry. And generally just feel a bit meh, I think it's me just thinking that I MIGHT feel sick rather than actually feeling it, almost like an "aura" of the symptoms that are to come haha. Definitely very thirsty though!
Argh my mum's coming round tonight and it's the first time I'll have seen her since finding out... And it's her birthday this weekend and I sooooo want to tell her! But we've agreed to tell family all on Christmas day so I can't!

@chaosmoon oh god thank you for the heads up!! I didn't know too much HCG could actually give a false negative! Did that happen to you?
Haha I'm sure you felt more silly than you looked- I bet nobody thought anything of it. Nice to feel the baby moving around though? Xxx

sunshine1987 · 13/12/2018 20:32

@crossfitgirl I don’t know how you’re doing it. I had to tell my mum, though I was worried as she was so upset for me when I got told I wasn’t ovulating so was more I didn’t want her to worry. Telling them Christmas Day will be so special! Yeah I’m 6+3 today, I’m having to eat before I get up and have a snack before bed. Rest of the day I’m ok, all feels real now! xx

Crossfitgirl · 13/12/2018 21:03

@sunshine1987 aww bless her, I think if it wasn't for Christmas we would have maybe told family already, but we agreed on it when we found out, and I've got the Christmas cards for the reveal "grandma and grandad, auntie" etc hehe see who notices first when they open them!
I'm hoping any symptoms hold off until after this weekend, it's my birthday on Sunday (the day after my mum's!) and I'll be exactly 6 weeks, we have a weekend away booked in Wales.
Want to make the most of the romance whilst we still have the chance!
Xxx

sunshine1987 · 13/12/2018 21:08

@crossfitfirl that sounds lush 😍 hope you both have a lovely time xx

ChaosMoon · 13/12/2018 21:46

@crossfitgirl I was very grateful to read about it on the April thread before I made that mistake. I've seen several women on here in a panic because of it though.

Feeling it move is absolutely amazing. I've been really lucky that it was kicking really hard, really early. It's very distracting though!

Telling your family on Christmas day will be magical. Good luck getting through this weekend though!

@sunshine1987 I did the same assigns told mine immediately. I couldn't have waited.

SullyWifey · 14/12/2018 08:01

Well the thing I was most worried about I got through last night. My bloody work do haha. There were a few comments but choose to ignore them. Just used the antibiotic excuse.

Then the boss said let's all finish early next Friday and go to pub 🙄 but not worried about that, I have plans that involve driving in the evening anyways.

So update on symptoms. I have lost 6lb in weight from not keeping half as much food down. I feel sick from the moment I wake up till about 6/7 at night. Sick most of the time after I eat. Worried this is going to be that awful sickness thing, but not letting myself go there! Seeing midwife Tuesday for bloods so will ask her then.

Can't wait for the Christmas break so I can just do absolutely nothing!!! Catch up on some rest! I think it's pretty hard having your first month pregnant in December as there's so much to do and all you want to do is nothing!!

Happy Friday ladies hope your all ok xxx

Crossfitgirl · 14/12/2018 08:40

Aww @sullywifey it sounds like you have it pretty rough. Have you found anything that helps? I'd definitely mention it to the midwife and the weight loss too. Maybe they can give you some antisickness stuff so at least you can keep down the nutrients you need? Sending lots of sympathy and hugs ❤❤❤
Ps glad your work thing went without a hitch, how have you been hiding the sickness at work? I have a meal with my 4 closest girls on Tuesday and I would usually at least have 1 even if I was driving. I think I'm set on getting there early and ordering my 1 fake alcoholic drink before anyone else arrives.
Thanks @chaosmoon and @sunshine1987 it'll be nice to have a break even if we do nothing! Sounds amazing to feel the baby kick, I guess I've another couple of months to go to feel anything! Time is going so unbelievably slowly!

CookieWaffle · 14/12/2018 11:24

@MrsC87 glad everything is OK, that must've been quite a scare xx

@ChaosMoon oh bless it's getting pretty active already! Wow time has gone fast xx

@Crossfitgirl I'm planning to tell at Xmas too, haven't worked out how to do the reveal yet!

So today I think I'm about 6+2 and I'm feeling awful. Lots of cramping, back is killing and I feel so sick. Someone tell me this is normal please. I can't go to docs as I'm waiting for our washing machine to arrive!

CookieWaffle · 14/12/2018 11:27

@SullyWifey ahh that sounds rough :( have you tried ginger tea maybe? I keep hearing that is meant to help xx

SullyWifey · 14/12/2018 11:31

@CookieWaffle I think that's so normal darling. My back has been killing me for a week and you know I'm sick. I keep getting a spout of cramps every day as well! Everything is stretching and moving in there. As of next week our uterus is already the size of an orange!! I'm 6+3 today.

I haven't tried ginger tea, but I hate any type of tea and honestly every time I put anything in my mouth in the morning it comes straight back up. Might give it a go but I'm not feeling optimistic xxx

SullyWifey · 14/12/2018 11:34

@Crossfitgirl yes I'm hoping she's going to give me something because I'm just drained from not getting enough food!

Think I'm hiding it ok, Iv got really good at controlling it mostly so soon as I feel it coming I just go to loo.

One of my colleagues asked me what was going on the other morning and I just said these antibiotics I'm on are making me sick. Feel like such a liar!!

Yes getting there early to buy your drink is a good idea do that!!

I hear you about time moving slowly, honestly never known anything like it!!!

CookieWaffle · 14/12/2018 11:48

@SullyWifey thank you! I tried ginger diet coke which I swear helped but probably because I'm addicted to diet coke and now it's like a special treat as I try to cut down on the caffeine!

Crossfitgirl · 14/12/2018 12:21

@cookiewaffle yes I bet it's the sugar as well (is there any in diet coke?) It sounds normal from what other people are saying. I'm here in my little symptom free bubble at the moment. Roll on 6 weeks on Sunday! I think we are just going to let family open their cards with their new titles on them :-) and see who realises first! Thought about getting them all to open their cards at the same time, or saying it's a joint present in the cards... But we decided our faces might give it away as we're not gonna be able to stop smirking so i think we will say nothing and hope they open the cards quickly!

@cookiewaffle and @sullywifey I know this may sound totally mad but have you tried doing some gentle exercise? I've been to the gym again this morning and I was feeling a teeny bit iffy beforehand and wondered if I should, but I actually feel tonnes better now. Maybe worth a try? Even a brisk walk or something to get your breathing up a bit? I found it eased my cramps as well when I went last week, even though I was terrified. I figure if it actually makes me feel better then it's got to be a good thing?? Obviously though if you're not managing to eat it might not be a good idea, but just a thought anyway. You never know.

I think the antibiotics story is fine! People will understand once they know:-)

Xx

CookieWaffle · 14/12/2018 12:41

Yep @Crossfitgirl there's no sugar in diet coke Wink. Ah I'm surrounded by boxes, you'd think I'd been doing lots of exercise recently but as soon as I move I feel so sick. I should be out getting presents this morning but I gave up. Feeling very sorry for myself today.

Crossfitgirl · 14/12/2018 13:11

@cookiewaffle online shopping. The way forward! How's the new house coming along? Are you settling in? Xx

CookieWaffle · 14/12/2018 13:22

Ahh yes mostly been shopping online but have to send something off in the morning. Will get him to help tonight. Its all still a bit weird here and I haven't settled in yet. Plus the kitchen has some horrible smell and makes me want to heave. I've been cleaning but haven't located it yet, or it's just pregnancy symptoms! Was trying to find a coat earlier and I have no idea where it is. Will be nice once sorted.

SullyWifey · 14/12/2018 18:09

@Crossfitgirl yeah you are right about the exercise, because I have had zero energy for two weeks I'm been a complete sofa potato. I need to try push myself into a walk or something. Just hard when I feel I'm living in a daze!

CrystalBlaze · 14/12/2018 18:58

Happy Friday you lovely lot. Hope everyone has nice weekends planned.

Really sorry for @Cookie and @Sully and those of you who are feeling rough! I am not much use as I dodged sickness (very lucky) but the times I did feel ropey - there was one evening in bed when I thought my time for puking had definitely come- I found travel sickness bands helped to ease it a little.

Great that you are still exercising @Crossfitgirl. I've been doing big countryside walks when I can because we live in the south downs. That's my main plan for maternity leave too so going to invest in a sling.

The first few weeks go so slowly it's unbelievable. But I felt like once I was past the 12 week scan it's absolutely flown. 21 weeks on Sunday and the baby is unbelievably active. @Chaos has your DP felt anything yet? Mine felt a tiny kick last night for the first time but insisted it might have just been "the pulse in his hand". Don't think he quite believes it yet.

I am still really wrestling with that bit of paper. I have no idea what to do because I want to know so badly but I'm scared once we do we will regret not having waited. Help! I am genuinely in turmoil.

My god this has turned into such an essay, I'm so sorry! But as others have said it's really nice to have such a lovely bunch of people to chat with, so glad this thread was started Smile

Crossfitgirl · 14/12/2018 19:40

@cookiewaffle ahh so familiar... Where did I pack this... What rooms that box in... 😂
@sulleywifey I often find just fresh air sometimes helps if I don't feel good. Hope you find something that does help soon!
@crystalblaze nothing wrong with an essay 😜 I'm definitely going to get a sling, and my pram will have massive wheels for nice treks in the countryside - have you bought any other essentials yet?
Re the sex... What made you want to keep it a surprise? That's the key really, as IMO you are going to find out anyway, so you'd only be bringing the surprise forwards by looking now! I think whatever you decide it will still be an amazing surprise whether you find out now or later, and you won't regret a thing whatever you decide. It's your baby! If you want to wait then wait, if you don't... Don't! 😊
We want to find out just to make planning a bit easier, and also because I think it'd be torture with the suspense! Lol also I don't want to feel in any way disappointed on the day, and although I Know I absolutely won't...I can't help but worry... If I'm convinced it's a boy and it ends up being a girl, or vice versa, I don't want there being any chance at all of me feeling disappointed and then subsequently guilty for feeling that. If that makes sense??!
I overthink though. A LOT!
Is that in any way helpful?
I've also seen very cute girl and boy clothes and not much cute unisex stuff haha not that I'm looking... 🙄
Xx

CrystalBlaze · 14/12/2018 20:37

@Crossfitgirl that's really helpful and I know exactly what you mean. I was convinced it was a boy at the start but then wasn't sure after the 12 week scan because it looked 'girly'. DP convinced it's a girl.

Have you got any inklings either way yet? Wink

As for stuff...have got a pram (got a Cosatto travel system on black Friday because it looked a good deal) and a Chico next to me crib. Nothing else though and what will be the baby's room is currently full of flattened boxes and in desperate need of decorating!

CookieWaffle · 15/12/2018 08:11

We've not discussed finding out yet but I want to. I hate not knowing things in general. I have to know to prepare myself mentally for it.

So last night for the first time, nausea actually put me off my food. I'm no stranger to nausea after having years of ibs but usually food is still my comfort. It really woke me up that this is happening...

I then woke up at 1am with really horrible cramps, I tried to move around to ease the pain but I just wanted to throw up. All the time I was thinking "Why did I ask to be pregnant!?!?"

CrystalBlaze · 15/12/2018 08:29

Oh no @Cookie I'm sorry you feel crap. Have you tried keeping some plain biscuits next to the bed? Digestives or something. Might take the edge off when you feel dodgy.

What's everyone up to today? We are going to hunt for new lights for the tree as ours packed in. Xmas Hmm
