Whereabouts are you going to @Chaos? I will be 30 weeks when/if we go - eek.

@Crossfitgirl let us know what you decide! And how it goes with your girlfriends, that will be so lovely!

@mrsof20118 how are you feeling about the scan?

I had a very vivid dream last night that the baby was a girl. Wonder if it's true...

@Chaos how are you finding hyponobirthing?

sunshine1987 · 13/01/2019 11:05

@chaosmoon are you doing a course for hypnobirthing? Thinking I might spend money on that over NCT as can’t afford both x

Crossfitgirl · 13/01/2019 14:58

Ladies I had to share this. I was feeling particularly rubbish earlier and quite sick, tried to eat some food and have a drink, an literally my tummy ballooned massively and looked like this!!!! No bump, that is sheer, actual bloat. I feel like a balloon. It's SO uncomfortable. I just want to pop it!!!
I look like I'm about 6 months bloody gone!!
I have sucked it in just to show its not an actual bump...

Is anyone else feeling ridiculously bloated? I may have to pop a rennie just to see if it goes down a bit!! I can't put any of my trousers on properly its so uncomfortable.

@crossfitgirl yup! I look 6 months pregnant in the evenings, it does stop after first trimester apparently x

CrystalBlaze · 13/01/2019 15:36

I was exactly like this. Looked the same at 7 weeks in the evenings as I did at about 15 weeks! Now I'm just gigantic Grin

MrsLBear · 13/01/2019 16:13

@Crossfitgirl I'm quite bloated too. Apparently it's really common and my mum even remembers it. If I eat something - small or big my tummy just pops out like that too. And normally I'd suck it in a bit but I cba to.
I'm actually so excited to start showing! Will probably regret saying that.
I have also found that if I get enough sleep I can deal with feeling "hungover" and it almost makes it less but if I don't get enough and by enough I mean a minimum of 8.5/9 hours I feel absolutely horrendous. Didn't sleep much on the plane so I feel so exhausted today and all round crap.

EltzBee · 13/01/2019 19:42

Evening ladies.

@crossfitgirl I've been bloated like that some we conceived, and so gassy! Always used to be my pre period symptom and this time never went away. Warm bath and ginger and lemon tea help a little.

Been feeling very rough past few days again, nausea just won't go away and being sick as well now, thankfully only a few times. Struggling to eat and absolutely shattered, running on empty.

DH went to the States today and so emotional, been in floods of tears. Think feeling so rough and hormones didn't help.

Sorry for the low post. Dreading work tomorrow i don't know how I'm going to cope. 7+1 today.

mrsof20118 · 13/01/2019 21:13

Sorry to all the others suffering bloat and emotions too. I can't watch a film without getting teary these days. I have had no headaches since I found i was pregnant (usually suffer with them quite bad) but last two days have been horrendous. Wonder if it's because the placenta is now taking over and hormones levelling out?

MrsLBear · 14/01/2019 06:28

So I got home yday and went to take my baby tablets and I realised I've been taking cod liver oil not omegas. And it contains vitamin a. Absolutely shocked to my core. Been taking it since I found out and before too, until the day before yday.
We have googled and read every article on vitamin a consumption and the amount in the tablets I took is extremely low but still there. Went to sleep so stressed about it and I've woken up early so worried again I actually feel sick. I took about it 10 in total maybe a few more.
I was convinced they were omegas as well. Didn't take the tub on holiday as it was too big.
I'm going to the drs today to give in my referral letter so will say I need an appt ASAP as I've been taking something I shouldn't of.
A part of me was going to stop that one tablet cos I had this funny feeling but I thought no it's fine it's only omegas and they are good.

sunshine1987 · 14/01/2019 07:04

@mrslbear I know it’s easier said than done but please try not to worry. Low levels of vitamin A I’m sure will be fine, it will be if you were taking high amounts that they would advise against it. Remember any studies would have been high amounts over the duration of the pregnancy rather than low amounts for the beginning etc. Does it also say what source is of vitamin A? There’s too, the retonoid form and another which is safe. Definetely speak to someone to put your mind at ease but step away from google xx

EltzBee · 14/01/2019 13:24

@mrslbear ah bless you, I'm sure a small amount won't have done any harm. There is Vitamin A naturally in our foods and in fortified foods and they don't say they have to be avoided. Give your Dr a shout for reassurance just in case.

Made it the office today, was feeling really rough and was a slow star and ended up late, but got here. I spent the train journey staring at the horizon and sucking on an extra strong mint and thankfully managed to make it to the office and the loos here, phew.

Absolutely shattered. How have you ladies managed working full time and travelling to work, with the exhaustion and constant-nausea?

MrsLBear · 14/01/2019 14:23

Thank you @sunshine1987 I know I shouldn't of googled it but I was trying to reassure myself. I still cannot believe I did it. I was able to register to my new drs today so will be able to get an appt from tomorrow. I can't see what form of vitamin a it would be just says vitamin a.
Fingers crossed it hasn't @EltzBee. I just can't believe it. It's like I've been wanting to get pregnant for years and then when I do I'm on holiday so I can't even contact anyone or check what I'm taking as I only took out some.

Today was my first day back at work since finding out and it was harder than I thought. More the fact that I couldn't snack or wee when I wanted as I was with clients. I made sure I took some crackers in as they keep me going and I'm absolutely obsessed with them right now. Luckily I drive to work as I can imagine the train journey being a horrible one when you're feeling rubbish.
I'm not looking forward to tomorrow and weds as I'm doing 12.5 hour days so that's going to be a challenge!!

EltzBee · 14/01/2019 14:29

@MrsLBear ah bless you, I was taking multivitamins and things that had Vitamin A in up to the night before we got out BFP, it was only when we got it and I was checking what I could take that I realised once preg Vit A wasn't suitable.

Oh gosh with you on the crackers, I brought a box of cream crackers with 2 dairylea and 2 babybel with me today, I've been nursing the crackers for dear life today. I tried a crumpet with marmite on during a meeting and my stomach wasn't sure, had to run to the loo.

Have got a seat booked on the train home, means I need to wait for that specific train to get a seat, but I can't face standing up for the ride today.

MrsLBear · 14/01/2019 15:47

That's good you are able to get a seat on the way home! Can't imagine having to stand all that way when you don't feel well @EltzBee

So I got my letter from the hospital. I self referred myself whilst away and I didn't realise they would post it (dunno what I thought) anyway we don't live at our house currently due to big renovations so I rung the hospital and they told me when all my appointments are. I've got my first midwife appt in 25/1 and by scan on 22/2 where I'll be 11+2. So glad to have them.
Still going to the gp re cod liver oil tablets. And also my eczema has flared up on my face and I don't know what I can/can't use.

I ordered some Mama Mio tummy rub. Has anyone used it?

EltzBee · 14/01/2019 16:07

@MrsLBear yeah I managed to grab a seat on the way in and it was bad enough. I've never concentrated on not being sick so much.

You've done well to get your apontments so early! My booking in appt isn't til 7th Feb when I'll be over 10 weeks and stoll not ot a sxan date. Meant to check with surgery as it has been a week since it was requested and need to get that time booked off work...

MrsLBear · 14/01/2019 19:03

I know I'm quite surprised how quickly I got it @EltzBee. So glad I self referred now - and that's all thanks to Mumsnet cos I read on one of the September baby forums that someone who actually lives in my area got told they could self refer to the big hospital near us. If I didn't I wouldn't even have been referred yet as I'm yet to see my gp.
And even better they both fall on my days off which means no one at work will start wondering what's going on.
I absolutely hate blood tests so I'm already shitting my knickers about that.

Those ladies that have done their booking appts - did your husbands/partners go to that one too?

mrsof20118 · 14/01/2019 20:07

@MrsLBear haven't tried that cream but I have some neals yard mother's balm To try out. Think they say to use from 12 weeks.

Had my harmony test today and should have results back in 7 business days from when it's sent tomorrow. Baby was wriggling about on screen. Have my nhs one on weds so will be good to get my official date.
Been trying to get in touch with midwives as moving area and tried Friday and today and just says number has been ceased. Feel sorry for the ladies who need to speak to them urgently.

CrystalBlaze · 14/01/2019 20:08

@MrsL please try not to worry! I'm sure you'll be absolutely fine and the GP will put your mind at rest.

@Eltzbee well done on getting through the day. It's so hard in the early weeks when you feel like absolute crap but can't tell anyone why!

On booking appointments, DP didn't go. It's just a lot of dull form filling and nothing much happens - he would have just been sitting in the corner bored. Mine has only come to the scans and that's been fine.

EltzBee · 14/01/2019 20:13

@CrystalBlaze do they not need any medical history etc from the father? I think DH is going come with as we assumed we both would need to lol.

sunshine1987 · 14/01/2019 20:34

My husband wasn’t here for the booking appointment (here they come to your house), most of the questions are about your family history - small amount his but not loads. He would have been bored out his brain so glad he wasn’t in x

Tartanwallpaper · 14/01/2019 20:43

Hi I'm about 10 1/2 to 11 weeks at the moment and this is my third. I'm feeling a bit worried about my scan in two weeks but I've no reason to. Anyone else feeling quie anxious about it?

CrystalBlaze · 14/01/2019 20:45

@EltzBee at mine they only asked very cursory things such as any history of heart disease or diabetes in his family, if he's a smoker, a drug user, and mental health problems. All stuff that's pretty straightforward Smile

@mrsof20118 I've heard of that one too. I love neals yard stuff. I've started using it all already cos I suffer really badly from stretch marks and I've never even fluctuated in weight that much so I'm really conscious about how easily I will get them.

The harmony test is done privately isn't it?
Eek for the scan on Wednesday!! What do you have your date at atm?

DH said he wants to come maybe I will say it's all paper work stuff. His work is pretty good so wouldn't be a problem for him and I'm lucky as it's early morning so he can go back to work afterwards.

EltzBee · 15/01/2019 10:03

@MrsLBear I think my DH will still come, work are really good usually so he shouldn't have a problem with the time off. Our appt is 9am. Easier for him to answer his family questions and ask any questions he might have too.

@sunshine1987 thats handy they come to your house. Ours is just in the local GP surgery.

Nausea and sickness as well as exhaustion still awful...nobody warns you does they!

Still toying with having a private scan but as a bigger lady I'm not sure if they'd be able to do a tummy one so hesitating. Not got a date yet for the dating scan was told I could be between 11 and 14 weeks :/
