Hello - I wanted to make a thread for young mums to be. I'm 24 and 6+5 due July 😀

blh23 · 27/11/2018 20:51

Hey hey, I'm 24 and 18 weeks - due end of April 👋🏼👋🏼

cw96 · 27/11/2018 20:52

Hi! I'm 22 and currently 29+2 due in February with my first :)

CaptainUnderpants96 · 27/11/2018 20:56

Hi! I'm 22 and 25+3, due early March. First baby.

blh23 · 27/11/2018 20:58

This is also my first! 💗

Winona1 · 27/11/2018 21:00

Welcome everyone 😀 was anyone else dreading telling friends their news through fear of being judged ? How did they take it ?

cw96 · 27/11/2018 21:14

@winona1 I wasn't so much at a fear of being judged because of my age as 22 is quite an average age I guess where I live however my pregnancy was unplanned and had only been with my partner 7 months when we found out so was more worried about being judged for how quickly things happened but have had no negative reactions yet (not to my face anyway!)

Winona1 · 27/11/2018 21:19

@cw96 my mum tells me I'm ridiculous as 24 is average but I feel so young 😂

Hello! I'm 30+4 (due 25/01/19) with my first. I'm 19 but will be 20Smilex

blh23 · 27/11/2018 21:30

I don't feel too young but nobody judged despite it being a 'happy surprise' 😂. We have been together 8 years tomorrow so don't think people were too surprised (except his mum) 😂

APositiveMind · 27/11/2018 21:31

Hi! Jumping on and watching this thread as 22 and ttc so hopefully not long until I'm a mum-to-be!

ElusiveButterfly · 27/11/2018 21:31

Hello! I'm 21 and 15+1 but I was 19 when I had my first. Didn't realise there were quite a few young'uns on here Grin

APositiveMind · 27/11/2018 21:35

Elusivebutterfly - also surprised by how many young'uns are on yer'!

Angharad07 · 27/11/2018 21:36

Hi I’m 21 and due next week! A lot of my friends/family were very surprised as I’ve only just graduated from uni. I’m happy though. My partner and I have just moved in together and he’s just started a new job but money is so tight and will be for quite a while.

Winona1 · 27/11/2018 21:36

Feeling old now as I'm the oldest in the thread haha!!

OP posts:
APositiveMind · 27/11/2018 21:39

Winona1- far from old! I'm guessing, like me, us young ones were just sitting quietly reading the late 30's/40-somethings posts until someone made one for us to relate too!Grin

Bettyhop · 28/11/2018 08:57

Hey! I'm also 24. Didn't think of myself as a young mum but I like it😂 I've been with dh 7 years and this baby is very planned and wanted after we had a mc earlier this year. I'm also a midwife if anyone has any questions😊 xxx

Winona1 · 28/11/2018 10:45

Yay we have a midwife in the thread @Bettyhop !!! 😆😆😆

Iswallowtoothpaste · 28/11/2018 11:26

Hey all, I was 19 when I fell pregnant with my DD (she’s 5 now) myself and my DP hadn’t been together long.

I experienced very minimal judging (maybe a bit from MIL who tried to make me out to be incapable but fuck her!)

Anyway, we now have a very happy, healthy, slightly crazy 5 YO and are 13+1 with our second baby after 2 consequtive losses.

I stopped caring what others thought. You do not need to rely on other people’s validation for your own happiness, you’ve just got to do what you need to do!

Kylieemilyj · 28/11/2018 12:21

Hey, I'm 20, I'm currently 16+6 and will be 21 when baba is here:) no one seems to be judgey that I'm pregnant but a lot of girls my age were pregnant at 16-18 :)

ShanAmanda · 28/11/2018 12:23

I'm 19 and 24 weeks :) I'll be 20 when my little one is here though!❤️

jellybeann · 28/11/2018 13:00

i’m 20 and currently 22 weeks! i am still in university - this pregnancy was a surprise as i was on the pill at the time and very diligent with it!

we have had nothing but positivity from family and friends, but have had a couple of uncomfortable encounters with strangers. i think this is because i look years younger than i am - my previous landlord asked for me to show him proof of age before i signed the contract as he thought i was 14 although i was 19 at the time!

hope everyone is doing well and having enjoyable pregnancies💕

cw96 · 28/11/2018 14:23

@jellybeann I was on the pill too but I missed one in the cycle so my own fault! However my Mum got pregnant with all 3 of her kids on the pill so may be a genetic thing?

beckyxo · 28/11/2018 14:39

Heya everyone, I hope you don't mind me joining? I'm 28 weeks and 1 day due in February with my first. I'm 22 nearly 23. Anyone else slightly petrified? 😂 x

Angharad07 · 28/11/2018 14:44

@jellybeann

I was in my last year of uni and 20 when I fell pregnant! Have since graduated and I’m due to pop any moment. How have your uni friends/coursemates reacted??

Whitescarf · 28/11/2018 15:35

22 and I'm 20+6, although I don't feel like a young mum? Grin but there are a lot of teen pregnancies in my town!
