We've run out of room so let's start again.

New people welcome. The group aims to support those who are pregnant post difficulty.

All are welcome - we are aimed at 12 week plus as those early weeks are a different kind of roller coaster and another group exists for support then. However you are welcome here too if you want to join.

Some of us have been here a while and nearly ready to pop. Others already had their babies.

Welcome one and all xxx

@fox23. No change here. The consultant had directed a midwife to try a stretch and sweep Tuesday when I was at the hospital but she couldn’t do it so they told me to visit my local midwife on thurs or Friday (just gone) for them to try again. I attended my local midwife which is in a different nhs trust to the embryonic medicine consultant and they wouldn’t do it as that trusts policy is they won’t attempt a stretch and sweep until I’m 38 weeks which is on Monday so they’ve booked me in for then. The hospital had got my date down wrong for the induction too so I’m now in Tuesday and not Monday. The consultant had kept saying Monday to me but then when I checked my paperwork it said 4th so I rang the unit up and they’ve confirmed it’s the Tuesday. I’m Now wondering whether it’s worth me trying to have a sweep the day before I’m induced but I suppose they wouldn’t offer me it if there wasn’t any chance of it working.

Fox23 · 01/12/2018 21:33

@Barcelo18 sounds like total amateur hour! Seriously tho, it just sounds like nobody wants to take any responsibility or put things right, whilst hiding behind “policy” wall.
Good luck, regardless how and where, it will all happen any day now and you will be happy mum 😘
You will be ok, and so will your lovely baby and your DP- stay strong 💕

Aliona19 · 01/12/2018 22:10

@Fox23 I do all you do, but doesn’t work. The darker the room the more awake she is. I can see her little button eyes looking at me through the darkness 😆 and day time-noise and bright light-she is sleeping like a log. And I do have a carrier for her, but it’s over an hour trip there and then back, if she has a meltdown while strapped onto me 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ I wish I could drive
Don’t worry about bottle feeding, you do your best to keep her happy and fed xx

Liverpool19 · 02/12/2018 17:36

Hi everyone, we are are getting on just fine. So far so good. Wakes every 3/4 hours for a bottle then goes back down, the same during the night aswell.
He was a bit unsettled with wind but I bought so colief drops and put them in his bottle and he brings his wind up.
We’ve been out a couple of times this week but next week are venturing out properly. Hope your little girl sorts her sleep soon for you aliona and fox your one sounds amazing!!

Hope everyone is well. Good luck for all appointments, inductions and scans this week 😘😘

Aliona19 · 02/12/2018 19:11

@Liverpool19 🤣 where did you get this babies from ladies 😂 sleeping for 3/4 hours! Mine does it sometimes during day. At night it’s 2 hours maximum, if I am lucky. And then takes another 2 or 5 to settle her back 😆😆 send help

emalady · 03/12/2018 15:26

@fox23 health visitor was fine. Just gave me the red book and talked about support available and groups etc. Didn't check where the baby will be sleeping as its not fully sorted, have a crib but no mattress yet. Your little one sounds amazing, hopefully the sleep continues. Shame for you she refused to breastfeed but I'm sure she is getting plenty of love and affection.

@aliona19 hope it gets better for you and the embassy visit is OK.

@Barcelo18 a stretch the day before induction can avoid the need for the rest of the induction so definitely worth it. Hope it's not too uncomfortable and good luck for the next couple of days!!!

Barcelo18 · 04/12/2018 07:13

Well today’s the day!!!! I’m being induced today. I have to ring the hospital at 3pm for my appointment. Started my maternity leave today too so I’m going to relax, have a nice bath and tidy around. The midwife tried to do a sweep again yesterday but to no avail as my cervix was too posterior. I love reading about all your babies that are already here and can’t wait to finally have mine in my arms after all these years of trying x

Fox23 · 04/12/2018 08:47

@Barcelo18 yeyyyy! Finally the big day has arrived 😁 strange to think that this will be your first weekend as a mum!
Good luck and please keep us updated!!!!
Don’t worry too much about tidying up unless you are doing it to keep your mind occupied 😊
You will do great 👍
Lots of love 💕

swimchick1980 · 04/12/2018 11:30

Amazing @Barcelo18. Best of luck and can’t wait to hear news of your baby arriving safely. I had a night induction. Into hospital at 8, some initial monitoring and then first pessary that night. Some sleep and then second 6/7 hours later.

Take it easy day. Such exciting times ahead.

Loving hearing everyone’s news. I too am jealous of @Fox23 and @Liverpool19’s angel babies 😂. My LO is great but does tend to wake up every couple of hours during the night 😴

Fox23 · 04/12/2018 11:47

@swimchick1980 yours may change habits (probably will) and so will mine. Last two nights tho have been amazing- only one change/feed at 3.30!!! And then waking up at 8! 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞
Alice- Please don’t change! 😆
How is everything else with you and the baby?

swimchick1980 · 04/12/2018 19:16

I hope mine changes and yours doesn’t @Fox23 😃. Everything else is great, though I forgot how long it takes to do anything!

Janefx40 · 05/12/2018 06:58

@Barcelo18 sorry I wasn't around yesterday to wish you luck. How is it going? So excited for you

Love to everyone else and your lovely babies

Xxx

I’ve been here since 1630 yesterday. Had my first pessary at 1815 then still nothing so another one at 0130 this morning. They have checked me at about 7 this morning and my cervix is still closer so I have to wait until 1815 this evening again for a third pessary and go from there. I think he’s just far too comfy in there and doesn’t want to make an appearance just yet x

swimchick1980 · 05/12/2018 11:09

Hope the pessary at 1815 moves things along. It definitely sounds like your boy is just too comfy 😂.

Fox23 · 05/12/2018 14:39

@Barcelo18 just stay strong and keep thinking about the end result. Regardless of how long it will take, soon it will be over and you will be mum. I suppose it’s cold outside so he is just very comfy 😁
Keep us updated and I wish you speedy onset of labour and quick delivery 😘

Janefx40 · 05/12/2018 17:03

@Barcelo18 hope that he gets the message at 1815 and you get a speedy delivery! He'll be here soon but must be frustrating to be waiting around! Keep us posted xxx

@Barcelo18 hope things are happening for you. Good luck.

Barcelo18 · 05/12/2018 21:01

Onto my third pessary now and no change in my cervix so next and last pessary will be at 02.15 and then a further 6 hour wait to see if it kick starts anything. I’m quite comfy to be honest they have given me my own room with en suite bathroom and my husband is allowed to stay over with me on a reclining lazy boy chair next to me so it’s not all bad. I don’t care how long it takes for him to get here as long as he gets here safely x

emalady · 05/12/2018 21:04

@Barcelo18 that sounds more relaxing than I was expecting, hope this works. Have they said what happens if nothing after 2am?

Janefx40 · 05/12/2018 22:21

@Barcelo18 great! Am glad you are comfy and happy to wait as long as it takes. As you say, all that matters is he arrives safe and sound xxx

Goodluck barcelo hope things have moved along x

Barcelo18 · 07/12/2018 08:30

Well our little miracle finally arrived by c section at 15.15 on 6/12/18 weighing 6 lb 12 ozs by c section. He is just perfect in every way and so worth all the heart ache over the years. He’s been an absolute dream over night. I’m attempting to breast feed but have expressing the colostrum at the moment which he is taking from a syringe he’s had 3 lots of 3 ml overnight which the staff tell me is enough and he’s had 3 dirty nappies. I’m hoping that they will allow us home tonight or tomorrow so that we can get settled into our new life with our little miracle. We are just so in love with him x

Fox23 · 07/12/2018 08:55

@Barcelo18 congratulations!!!!!!! I’m so so happy for you and your little boy! And of course congratulations to your DP as well 💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐😴😴
Sounds like it all went well, and everybody is doing well. Hopefully they will let you go home today as they let me out the next day. Fingers crossed for that. Sounds like he is great weight and eating indeed is enough for first day ☺️
Congratulations once again! The best news ever to wake up to 😁
Hope you feeling well after the op! I was totally fine, some other girls were not. Once they remove the catheter and you pass the “pee” test they usually let you go home.

Barcelo18 · 07/12/2018 09:25

@fox23 thankyou. It’s just the best feeling in the world to have him in my arms. Catheter has been removed and I’ve done a huge wee and am making sure I’m drinking lots. They want to watch me hand express and feed by syringe at 10 then they will try to get me to express by electric pump later. They’ve said I need to be in for 24 hours at least and am hoping that we go home today. Due to our jobs we have a private room at the hospital incase we come into contact with anyone we have dealt with but the girl next door last night sounded like she was having a party at 2230 and was shouting and swearing. Sounded like two young girls so we ended up complaining to the nurses who threatened to throw her birth partner off the ward if it carried on but they continued into the night but at a lower level !!!!

Liverpool19 · 07/12/2018 09:46

Congratulations barcleo how lovely! Glad you aren’t baby are doing well. How annoying about the other girl on the ward. Hopefully they let you go home today! X
