We've run out of room so let's start again.

New people welcome. The group aims to support those who are pregnant post difficulty.

All are welcome - we are aimed at 12 week plus as those early weeks are a different kind of roller coaster and another group exists for support then. However you are welcome here too if you want to join.

Some of us have been here a while and nearly ready to pop. Others already had their babies.

Welcome one and all xxx

Glad you are getting there jane try not to panic about giving her stuff, if it helps it’s worth it. You should see how excited my little one gets when he knows the gripe water is coming 🤣

Darkstar4855 · 27/01/2019 12:23

I rationalised the “giving chemicals” by reasoning that I’d rather do that than see him in pain from wind and miserable from lack of sleep (and I am a better mum to him when I get some sleep!).

William now loves his infacol and slurps it down quite happily and also took his rotavirus vaccine and calpol really well too - so maybe getting him used to taking medicine early on has helped from that point of view.

Barcelo18 · 28/01/2019 09:16

@janefx40. Have you contacted your health visitor or midwife if not discharged yet. I had a couple of awful days with my baby a couple of weeks ago and rang them and they were fantastic. Told me to try infacol and I have and he’s seemed a lot better since. It’s awful to see them in pain and you feel so helpless don’t you. I had to give up breastfeeding after two weeks of combi feeding as I just didn’t produce enough milk at all for him despite hand pump
Electric pump nipple shields etc being used. We use cow and gate and the Phillips avent bottles, the perfect prep machine, a microwave steriliser and again a flask and sterile pots for powder when we go out.

I hope you’re all ok x

Barcelo18 · 28/01/2019 09:28

Also my little one loves the pneo baby shusher, it really settles him down x

emalady · 30/01/2019 19:55

Hi ladies, not been around for a bit, got out of the habit of checking over Christmas and then finishing work etc. Anyway waters broke early so I ended up with an induction and my little girl arrived on Saturday morning. Madeleine. She was 38+5 and 6lb 4 oz, so tiny, had to send mum to buy tiny baby clothes as she was dwarfed by the newborn size! Breastfeeding seems to be starting off OK but a bit sore.

@janefx40 so glad your little one arrived safe and sound. Hope the feeding continues to be OK. I'm going to try and express a little from 3 weeks but tempted to get a bit of formula just in case.

@aliona19 so gorgeous! Can't believe how old and big some of the babies on here have got now.

Hope you are all doing ok. Hello to the new people, congratulations. Its definitely really good to have this thread as I found easy conception meant people just didn't understand my concern about the pregnancy. Can't believe it's done now.

I would be keen to try FET at probably 12-18 months, have 3 frozen. I don't think I would go through another fresh cycle, if this one ends up as an only child I can live with that.

Barcelo18 · 30/01/2019 20:44

Ah congratulations @emalady. What a beautiful name too. I had to also buy tiny baby but 8 weeks on (tomorrow) I have been clearing his wardrobe out and can’t believe he was ever that small when I see his tiny baby gros. Enjoy your time with your precious little one xxx

Liverpool19 · 30/01/2019 21:17

Hi everyone.

How are you all? When your little ones had their needles how were they afterwards?

X

Liverpool19 · 30/01/2019 21:20

emalady congratulations!! Exact same weight as my jake! Boots have a really good selection of tiny baby. He’s 9 weeks now and is still in first size but growing 🤣 hope your ok.

X

Fox23 · 30/01/2019 22:14

@emalady congratulations! How unbelievably beautiful! Such a lovely name! 💕💕💕
My baby was born at 10.4lb and 1-3months clothing! She is 13 weeks on Friday and some things are tight from 3-6 range!!! 🤦🏻‍♀️
Oh well, she is tall baby 👶

emalady · 31/01/2019 02:22

@fox23 my husband and I are both quite tall and we're both over 8lb as babies so I was quite surprised how little she is! I was expecting more of a 1-3 month size rather than tiny baby!

@liverpool19 wow if she is still in first size at 9 weeks then I probably have clothes for most of the year!!!

@Barcelo18 it already seems wierd she fit inside me can't believe how big she is going to get!

Liverpool19 · 31/01/2019 04:37

Sorry emalady he is in up to 1 month 😂 I keep trying his 0-3 on him to see if they look acceptable to wear yet 🤣 x

Barcelo18 · 31/01/2019 07:30

@liverpool19 my little one has his injections tomorrow at his first big check up. I’m dreading it as I hate to hear him crying. Typical his dad is rest days today but back at work tomorrow !!

Aliona19 · 31/01/2019 09:07

@emalady Congratulations 🥰 I was 38+5 too for my section. As for breastfeeding, it was painful first two weeks, but now I don’t even feel her on my boob 👌🏻 So hopefully it’s going to be ok for u too x

@Barcelo18 when I look at my LO-don’t feel like she changed, but as u said, when I see her first clothes-omg. And when I do compare pics, no wonder when we 5 month pregnant it’s nothing and in 2/3 month it’s getting out of hand 🤣 this pic 2.5 month difference 😳😳 from little skinny frog to this
@Liverpool19 mine was ok-ish after first lot, had temperature for 2 days though. After second lot she was absolutely fine, she didn’t even cry. Rotavirus gave her funny tummy first time, but no problem second time. @Barcelo18** it’s not that bad! First time I went out as dad was there, second time I had to hold her little leg. She pulled the face to cry but we started speaking and she was ok.
Was changing her in bed and she was so happy without nappy, decided to flip her over for tummy time (as she always crying). She didn’t cry. But she peed in my bed 🤣 lesson learned

Liverpool19 · 31/01/2019 11:25

barcelo good luck it will be ok, Jakes dad was rest day too so I made him hold him 🤣 he cried for a couple of seconds then stopped. Last night he was so upset it was a different type of cry aswell. Lasted about 2 hours and went off his bottles. He normally sleeps 11-6 went asleep at 1am and woke at 4. That was a shock to my system 🤣 he’s just finished at 5oz bottle and seems happy today so hoping he’s feeling ok.
aliona Jake loves weeing or pooing as soon as the nappy comes off. It’s his party trick 😂

X

Aliona19 · 31/01/2019 11:48

@Liverpool19 😅 she is usually a good girl, but hate being on tummy, so peed on My side of the bed 😆
We have bcg vaccination on Tuesday, it’s in her arm 😏😏 not looking forward to that at all 😑

emalady · 02/02/2019 18:31

@aliona19 hope the injection is OK next week, its probably going to be worse for you than for her.

When do you start tummy time?

How are the new people getting on?

Aliona19 · 02/02/2019 18:49

@emalady 🤣 She hates tummy time. They say to start as soon as you want. But each time I put her on tummy she screams her lungs out. but. Few days now I put her on tummy and she is ok for a min or two. Starting to tolerate it. Plus I found an article against tummy time and relaxed 😁😁 I was stressing out way to much. So if your LO ok with tummy time-do it, if not-do it when she is ready👌🏻👌🏻

Janefx40 · 03/02/2019 12:26

@Liverpool19 they star to change so much at this time is it? The way they look at you, like proper little humans 🤣
@Janefx40 hey. Glad you r doing well. How is she sleeping? Did you tell us the name? 🤔 Can’t remember. What’s up with feeding?
❤️To all

Janefx40 · 17/02/2019 01:43

Hiya. @Aliona19 she is called Sylvie. She sleeps ok. She wakes once for a feed at 10:30ish and then again around 3am. But then she sleeps until 8am so I do get sleep. Takes ages to settle her at night but I am trying different ways.

Breastfeeding was hard for me (as for most people!) because my milk supply hasn't been great but I think we are getting there.

@Liverpool19 3 months! That is so quick. What is his personality like?

I should be asleep. DP is meant to be doing the night shift to give me a longer stretch of sleep but Sylvie didn't settle until 1am and he hasn't emerged from the spare room where he was meant to be getting a few hours sleep prior to taking over from me. Hmmm. I should try to close my eyes before this all starts again.

Love to all you ladies.

@Beherenow32 how are you getting on?

@janefx40 so good to hear all is good. GlD that the breastfeeding is working for you, I so regret giving up after a couple of weeks due to a poor supply and my baby not wanting to work to get the milk out but I just felt it was ruining my time with him and as you know like everyone here we had waited so long to get him.

We have been to the drs as he was crying for hours and bringing a lot of milk back up and after a couple of trips to the drs did getting him on the right medication we seem to have our happy baby back.

He’s 10 weeks now and changed so much in that time. We have lots of classes we are going to, baby massage, a music class which is amazing, water babies and starting baby yoga.

I’m hating that I am already having to look for a nursery for him even though I’m not going back until September but I need to find the right one and lots won’t accommodate shift work and have huge waiting lists. I’m sure I’ll sort something out though.

How are all of the pregnant ladies doing on here? I do miss my bump x
